Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Who Died? Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Who Died? “Mr. Wolff, don’t you think you owe us an explanation?”
Tangde suppressed his anger.
“Explanation?”
Wolff’s face turned red with anger, and he exhaled a strong aroma of alcohol. His attitude had shifted from the cautiousness he displayed during the day, becoming rather irritable under the influence of alcohol.
“Who’s going to explain to ?”
“The bank is pressing , the clients are pressing , even you…”
Wolff stretched out his hand, pointing at Tangde.
“I pay you for results, not explanations!”
Tangde took a few deep breaths, “We all need to calm down. Right now, I just want to ask you, what’s the deal with Gale?”
“Did you already know that the monster appearing in the factory was this guy in disguise?”
“That’s why you concealed a lot from us.”
This question was crucial. Combined with the corpse on the ground, if Wolff knew that the monster in the factory was Gale in disguise, yet still had them co here to investigate,
then Wolff’s motive beca very intriguing.
Was he actually using them to get rid of Gale?
Thinking of this possibility, anger surged on Tangde’s face.
If it weren’t for Roger, Lawrence would have killed Gale in a mont of impulsivity, and the situation would have beco very difficult to manage by then.
This led Tangde to speculate even more.
Wolff had called them here, perhaps not to get rid of the so-called monster, but to eliminate Gale!
As for why the deceased Marisa transford into a monster, Tangde thought it was all too common.
“This man says you killed his wife.”
Tangde pointed at the body on the floor.
“This thing crawled out of the sewage pipe. You’re not going to tell she accidentally fell in there and drowned, are you?”
“Marisa?!”
Wolff’s eyes widened, and the alcohol flush drained from his face completely.
“Impossible!”
“How could she possibly crawl out of the sewage pipe?”
“Nothing is impossible.”
Tangde explained briefly.
“In certain circumstances, those who die with grievances may undergo transformation catalyzed by energy.”
“Most of the monsters you see are ford this way.”
Wolff was still sowhat stunned when, at that mont, Gale charged forward and punched Wolff right on the nose.
“Crack!”
Wolff scread in agony as he and Gale scuffled.
Tangde made a gesture and Lawrence, huffing angrily, pulled the two n apart. He used a lot of force, and after the pain, both n cald down.
“It was you, you killed Marisa!”
Gale shouted loudly.
“Now with a body, just wait for jail ti!”
Roger watched the drama unfold, but he didn’t make a sound. He furrowed his brow, sensing sothing was off.
“Marisa’s death has nothing to do with .”
“I’ve never t that woman! And I certainly had no idea the monster in the factory was this guy in disguise!”
Wolff defended himself loudly.
“You think if you hide it well, nobody will know?”
Wolff sneered, “Don’t pose as a victim. You’ve been after relentlessly – isn’t it all for the money?”
Tangde’s expression turned cold, “Mr. Wolff, you can resolve these affairs on your own. As for your matters, I will report them truthfully. If I were you, I’d take advantage of this ti to find yourself a reliable lawyer.”
Tangde beckoned.
“Let’s go!”
After speaking, he led everyone towards the door, but what surprised Tangde was that Roger stood still, not moving.
“Things probably aren’t as simple as they seem.”
Roger looked towards Tangde and the others.
“The traces I saw near the sewage pipeline are real, which ans there really was a monster here.”
“The real monster has been killed by us, and what the other workers saw was just Gale’s disguise,”
Lawrence said.
After a period of easing tensions, his attitude towards Roger had greatly changed. Although he didn’t say it out loud, he was actually grateful to Roger within his heart.
He had nearly beco a murderer.
“It’s not the sa,”
Roger shook his head.
“I’ve seen that corpse, and the way it moved couldn’t have left the traces we found before.”
“So the real monster must still be out there, maybe still hiding in the sewage pipelines!”
“Carl once said that after the second attack, Wolff had soone shut down the pipelines.”
“Did you really see the monster?”
Roger asked Gale.
Gale was startled at first but then nodded quickly.
“Of course.”
“After Marisa disappeared, the police treated it as an ordinary missing person case. Unable to find evidence, I could do nothing but desperately search on my own.”
“Then, in the darkness near the sewage room, I saw that monster.”
“It was about two ters tall, reeking of foul sll, and covered with large and small pus-filled boils all over its body.”
“However, it didn’t notice and left.”
“I told everyone about this, but unfortunately, no one believed . They all laughed at as if I were crazy.”
“But not long after, another six people witnessed it, and the story spread. Many people left the factory, and the factory was forced to shut down, causing Wolff to lose a considerable sum of money.”
“A few days passed without sign of the monster, so I decided to disguise myself as the monster, creating this special item, and also secretly used so thods and drugs.”
“Unfortunately, this incident wasn’t exposed,” he glanced at Wolff.
“I only did it once; the other two tis had nothing to do with .”
Gale explained.
Roger nodded.
“The first two tis, they saw the real monster. After that, Wolff closed the pathway, and then Gale created the third attack.”
“Although I’m not clear about Mr. Wolff’s real purpose in issuing the task, at least for now, it’s apparent the real monster has not been eradicated, and the crisis here has not been resolved.”
“Captain.”
Everyone’s gaze fell on Tangde.
“Take him to another room,”
Tangde ordered Beech.
After the two had left, he ca over to Wolff.
“You’ve heard what was just said. The next choice is in your hands. We can understand your motive for hiding the truth, but if you want the mission to continue,”
“you must tell us the truth,”
Tangde stared at Wolff.
“Did you kill Marisa, or do you know sothing about her death?”
Wolff’s nose was broken, and half his face was swollen like a pig’s head. Hearing Tangde’s words, his eyes flickered, but he did not make a sound.
Although Tangde wished to maintain the squad’s success rate in completing missions, seeing Wolff’s behavior, he still decided to abandon this mission.
“Since that’s the case, then I’m sorry, the mission is terminated. You’ll have to figure out what to do with the rest on your own. By the way, the three workers who were scared have already driven down the mountain.”
“The news will spread quickly.”
“You’d better be prepared for that.”
“Wait!”
Wolff struggled on his face, and finally, he nodded heavily.
“Marisa is indeed dead, but her death has nothing to do with , and furthermore, her body couldn’t possibly be in the sewage pipeline.”
“Because I personally buried her in the mountains!”
The people present were slightly startled and turned their heads to look. If the body on the ground wasn’t Marisa, then who could it be?
