Chapter 178: Chapter 178 Joining Chapter 178: Chapter 178 Joining Rivervalley Town was completely different from the other two small towns Roger had visited before; the entire town only had a history of several decades, focusing initially on industrial developnt.

However, due to serious environntal issues later on, many factories were forced to shut down, and the standard of living for the townspeople plumted.

Wolff Industries was one of the few large factories nearby, offering very generous wages and benefits.

Roger parked his car, and just then, two young n holding signs caught his attention.

“Wolff Industries’ recruitnt advertisent?”

Roger’s mind stirred, and he walked over.

“Hey, buddy, are you looking for a job?”

A skinny black man saw Roger approaching and initiated a conversation.

“I just moved to this town not too long ago…”

“Ever heard of Wolff Industries? It’s one of the top factories around here. You’ve co at just the right ti; we need a few workers.”

“The pay is great, what do you say, want to take a look?”

Roger showed a hint of well-tid hesitation.

Typically, positions within such large factories were very tight, and it was unlikely that there would be openings. He glanced at the list of benefits and wages on the flyer, understanding sothing in his mind.

It seed there must be so issue at the factory, possibly Specter mischief or a monster attack.

That’s why the factory owner, Wolff, turned to a Demon Hunter.

In the Bordeaux region, several Demon Hunter families held vast influence, owning a great deal of the factories and land. They also operated a long-standing guild through their extensive network of relationships.

Through these guilds, they could learn much about the Bordeaux region and at the sa ti elevate their own status while solving supernatural issues for these businessn.

Other Demon Hunters closely connected with each other, forming a mutually beneficial network encircled by these families.

“Buddy, what are you hesitating for?”

“Worried about the money? We can pay you half a month’s salary upfront. If you’re worried you can’t handle it, you can even sign a short-term contract.”

“One month.”

“If you work for a full month, you can leave.”

While they were talking, an old man with graying hair ca out of the supermarket next door.

“Little Bobby, get lost, don’t scam people here!” he shouted loudly.

He glanced at Roger, “Just moved to town?”

“I’d advise you to stay away from that damned factory; damn it, several people have already been injured!”

The young black man known as Little Bobby stepped forward.

“Mr. Vanke, your son also works at the factory. Besides, what factory doesn’t have a few accidents?”

“Mr. Wolff has already paid compensation, what else do you want?”

The old man fell silent, and in the end, he shook his head resignedly.

“That money will cost him his life sooner or later!” he said before turning to leave.

Roger picked up on a lot of information and thought for a mont before making a show of struggle on his face.

“Can you take to the factory to have a look?”

“I’d like to give it a try.”

“Of course!”

The black youth nodded without hesitation, handed the sign to another person, and said, “Let’s go.”

Roger followed the black youth’s car out of town.

The factory built by Wolff wasn’t too close to the town, and it took them over twenty minutes to get there.

Having signed a temporary agreent with Roger and even paid so salary in advance, the black youth, Bobby, hurriedly left.

The person in charge of Roger’s work was a man around 50 years old. He didn’t say much and, after a brief introduction, left Roger in the loading workshop.

As he left, Roger saw two figures walk out of the office from a distance.

“Is that Mr. Wolff?”

He feigned curiosity as he asked.

“Just do your job well.”

The man responded with a phrase, and then Roger noticed the figure following the stout man.

Strong and fierce.

Roger was all too familiar with that style and those eyes; moreover, it seed he had seen the man before in the bar.

“Seems like an Exorcist nad Tangde.”

Roger vaguely rembered but wasn’t completely certain; he didn’t rush to approach the man, especially since he had accidentally made it inside the factory.

He decided to take this opportunity to gather more information.

The factory workers weren’t wary of him, the newcor.

Sotis, the voices from the lower levels are closer to the truth.

The carrying work was nothing more than a warm-up for Roger, given his current strength. He worked silently and robotically.

Just as he expected, the workers around him didn’t avoid him, and throughout the afternoon, Roger heard a lot of news inside the workshop.

By the ti evening ca and the day’s work was done, the factory workers had left, leaving only the night shift behind.

After the previous incident, not a soul would choose to work overti at night, not for all the money in the world.

Before the sun set, however, a car returned from outside. After waiting a bit, Roger, who had left the workshop, went to the administrative area and knocked on the door.

“Who’s there?!”

A vigilant voice ca from the room.

“My na is Roger. We’ve t before at Hunter’s Bar. I’m here this ti…”

Click.

The door opened.

“What are you doing here?”

Tangde frowned, “You should know the rules of the bar. We’ve taken this job, so no other hunters can join in.”

“I’m not interested in the reward for the job. It’s just that the creature ntioned might possess toxins, and I happen to need an organ from a toxic being.”

Roger did not specify which organ, and whether this creature was a Transcendent Being would depend on a bit of luck.

“Could I join in?”

“I don’t want any pay. I just hope that if the creature has what I need, I can have priority to buy it when the task is over.”

Tangde looked Roger up and down, then shook his head without hesitation, “No need. We can handle this job ourselves.”

“We need to have a eting now. Please leave.”

Including a stranger in an established team was a big taboo, but Tangde didn’t close the door completely.

“Leave your contact information, and I’ll inform you at the first opportunity.”

As expected.

Roger knew joining the task wouldn’t be easy. Unless it was absolutely necessary, he didn’t want to forcibly take over another team’s task.

Aside from offending others, it would ruin his reputation in Hunter’s Bar. Then he wouldn’t be able to take any jobs or enjoy related services.

Though the bar was small, it was a hub for information and materials.

“Don’t reject just yet.”

Roger smiled.

“You must still be looking for that creature’s whereabouts, right?”

He looked at the people in the room.

“I’m fairly confident in my abilities, and I’ve almost pinpointed its location.”

“How about an exchange of this information for my inclusion?”
