Chapter 949: Chapter 541: The Stone Path of Ti and Space_2

But it was not a man’s lecherous gaze upon a woman, it seed more like a rchant evaluating goods, and he appeared quite satisfied with his assessnt.

Little White furrowed her brows slightly, feeling the repulsive gaze and naturally being quite displeased.

She also communicated with her master through a psychic ssage.

“Master, the gaze of this Shop Assistant is really irritating, and sothing about this inn feels strange. Can’t we change to a different establishnt?”

Logan smiled faintly, seeing that his little fox had also sensed sothing was amiss.

Not bad, that’s an improvent.

However, there was no other place to go at the mont; this was the only lodging available.

“Let’s endure it for now. It seems we’ve only found this place within a hundred miles. If we leave here, we’d have to spend the night in the desert, and who knows what we might encounter. Stay vigilant, we’re only staying for one night anyway, and we’ll leave first thing tomorrow,” he said.

Since Logan had already put it that way, Little White didn’t seem to have any room for rebuttal.

So, despite her dissatisfaction, she rely snorted coldly and said nothing more.

“Esteed guests, whether you’re here for a al or to stay, your timing is perfect. Our inn has just received so delicious food, all fresh goods. Seeing as you’ve traveled a long way, perhaps you’re tired, and your stomachs might be empty. How about I serve you so dishes first?”

Although the Shop Assistant spoke slickly, his suggestion was reasonable.

Thus, Logan nodded, indicating that he could serve so dishes.

However, once the dishes were served, he realized sothing was off.

Their appearance seed fine, but the flavor, as well as the Shop Assistant’s expression, gave off an odd vibe with the food.

He only intended to see how shady the inn was, but now it seed perhaps there was more than he had imagined.

Logan’s eyes moved slightly, and a mysterious light flashed through them swiftly.

Afterward, he exchanged a glance with his Master Nineteen, both holding an ambiguous aning.

Master Nineteen clearly sensed sothing as well and didn’t touch the food on the table.

And Little White, having received a psychic ssage and already disliking both the Shop Assistant and the inn’s atmosphere, naturally didn’t start eating either.

“Alright, dear guests, all the dishes are served. They are rare delicacies of our inn, our signature dishes, and they are both excellent and affordable. Please, have a taste,” the Shop Assistant said with a smile, energetically promoting his dishes.

However, this was like punching cotton; it had no effect.

Despite his enthusiasm, not a single guest moved their chopsticks.

Everyone appeared to be in their own world, seemingly oblivious to the Shop Assistant’s words and the delicious spread before them.

This made the Shop Assistant feel odd, and he even wondered if they were aware of sothing?

But upon scrutinizing their expressions, he discovered nothing at all.

This left the Shop Assistant utterly confused.

Logan simply waved his hand and provided an excuse.

“You may go now. We’ve had so dry food earlier, and we aren’t very hungry at the mont. Leave the food here, and we will eat it slowly,” he said.

While he ntioned eating it slowly, there was no indication that he intended to touch the food.

The Shop Assistant saw this and grew anxious.

Go down? How could he possibly leave?

He had to see with his own eyes these guests eating the food before he could be at ease.

Hence, after so hesitation, the Shop Assistant cautiously spoke up again.

“Esteed guests, I don’t an to insist, but these are high-quality dishes that must be eaten now. If not eaten imdiately, they won’t taste good once cold. Please, do try them quickly,” he said.

As he spoke, his tone was not just persuasive but also carried a urging sense.

It was as if their refusal to eat the al was unforgivable.

Logan watched the Shop Assistant’s behavior and felt it increasingly peculiar.

What exactly was the Shop Assistant plotting? What was amiss within the inn, and why was he so insistent on them eating quickly?

What exactly are these dishes?

“Guest, what are you still hesitating about? Don’t be fooled by the poor location of our restaurant. There are quite a few people here, which is why our ingredients are freshly slaughtered to ensure freshness, and there definitely won’t be any problem. Please, give it a try, we would really appreciate your feedback,” the Shop Assistant insisted with a smile that he refused to drop, urging them to eat.

Logan wanted to see what was amiss, so after exchanging a look with his Master, he pretended to take a bite.

“Hmm, initially, considering this restaurant’s remote location, I thought there wouldn’t be anything good, which is why we didn’t plan on using our chopsticks. But, seeing as how you’ve gone to such lengths to sell us on it, I will save you so face and taste whether there’s anything different here,” he said.

With those words, he had laid the groundwork for picking up his chopsticks as well as justifying his previous reluctance to eat.

The Shop Assistant didn’t overthink it, and once he saw Logan take a bite, his eyes narrowed with satisfaction when he was sure he actually ate.

His eyes revealed an indecipherable, sinister look.

Even his voice carried a strange tone.

“Hehe, that’s the spirit. Enjoy the al, good sirs. It’s all high-quality stuff. You’ll be satisfied. How about it, dear custor? The taste is good, isn’t it?” the Shop Assistant said, believing his trick had worked, a triumphant smile playing on his lips.

But he didn’t see Logan cover his mouth with his hand when he took that bite of food, rely pretending to chew and not swallowing it.

Moreover, he disposed of the food through another ans, relegating it to the space that served as his trash can.

He certainly wasn’t about to let his space be contaminated with garbage, nor would he eat such trash.

The only reason he pretended to eat was to gauge the Shop Assistant’s expression, trying to glimpse sothing he was searching for.

Sure enough, the assistant couldn’t keep his composure. Once he thought Logan had swallowed the food, his face imdiately displayed a bizarre range of expressions.

As if he was afraid that others wouldn’t notice his oddness, his strangeness…

Logan couldn’t help but curl his lip. How did such a person manage to survive running such a shady establishnt?

All his thoughts were written on his face. Were all those he swindled fools?

Logan was puzzled but had no intention of dwelling on the matter.

As for the Shop Assistant’s response, Logan replied noncommittally,

“The taste is not bad. It seems there isn’t any deception here, but the at is still not very tender. After all, this is a remote place and can’t compare with bustling areas.”

The Shop Assistant’s expression froze slightly, seemingly at a loss.

He looked at Logan with disbelief, as if he couldn’t fathom being criticized in such a manner.

Critiquing the al was one thing, but the comnts were unreservedly diocre.

Despite a polite nod to the food being alright, the remarks that followed clearly indicated dissatisfaction with the dishes.

How could this be?

The Shop Assistant seed to have never encountered such a reaction, so his expression didn’t know how to adjust, becoming sowhat grotesque and not quite human.

Watching the Shop Assistant’s changing face, Logan felt like he had regained the upper hand, secretly pleased with himself.

As for Nineteen, he appeared unconcerned with the covert struggle between the two, simply taking out his own flask and continually sipping his wine.

The Shop Assistant finally managed to adjust his attitude, turning his attention to Little White and Nineteen.

“Miss, young master, why not try so as well?” he asked.

Little White wasn’t one to mince words. Hearing this, she retorted directly,

“I don’t like it. It slls fishy and stinks. You can tell it’s not any good just by looking. I also don’t like the look of you; it turns my stomach.”

Shop Assistant:…

His mouth twitched as if he were at a loss for words or perhaps furious, struggling to maintain the friendly facade on his face.

Logan watched the scene with mild amusent, finding the spectacle rather entertaining.

He had to admit, Little White’s candidness suited his taste.

Dealing with soone as slippery as the Shop Assistant, a direct approach was most effective.
