Chapter 948: Chapter 541: The Way of Ti and Space Stone
Logan could hear Little White’s joyful tone and naturally felt very happy too.
After all, it was his own Spirit Pet—a small request like this was not sothing he could refuse to fulfill.
After finishing the matters at hand, he didn’t hesitate, taking Little White to the Wine Maiden’s tomb.
Back when the Wine Maiden was killed by him, it was he who hastily erected this tombstone for her.
If one didn’t look closely, it would be hard to notice that this small mound, along with a stone engraved with characters, was a grave.
“You should know by now, your mother was nad Ninth Lady, and when I t her, everyone already called her the Wine Maiden,” he said.
Logan glanced at the characters on the tombstone and finally sighed deeply.
“You should pay your respects here, I won’t disturb you. I’ll co back later,” he said.
Knowing that Little White must need so quiet, and considering that he was, after all, the main culprit, to prevent any resentnt from Little White, Logan took his leave temporarily.
Little White watched Logan’s retreating figure, her eyes clouded and inscrutable, finally sighing softly as she knelt on the ground and placed the incense and food she had purchased in front of the tomb.
“Mother, I’m here to see you. I’m living well now, but I will have to leave soon with Master and might not be able to visit you again. Mother, forgive your daughter’s undutifulness, I hope you can eat and drink well in the afterlife and be reincarnated soon,” she said.
Her hands pressed together, she gently closed her eyes, her expression full of care.
Just then, a group of bandits happened to co by and saw Little White.
The eyes of the bandits’ group went wide.
“Hey, boss, that lass is really beautiful. If we capture her and sell her to the Brothel, we might get a lot of money!” one exclaid.
“Exactly, and before we sell her, we can have a good ti ourselves!” another added.
“Hehe, brothers, let’s quickly grab that little lass!” another urged.
But before they could even close in on Little White, a surge of Spiritual Energy appeared out of nowhere and sent them all flying to the ground.
Of course, it wasn’t just a retreat; they were even randomly lashed out at.
“Ouch, who is the great hero? Please, let us go; we won’t dare anymore!” they cried.
Logan then erged from the shadows, having been protecting Little White the whole ti. Hearing the bandits’ intention, he couldn’t hold back and lashed out at them directly.
Being a Spirit Beast, Little White had exceptional hearing and naturally caught their words, imdiately snorting coldly.
“Hmph, a bunch of fools who don’t know the vastness of heaven and earth, humans daring to plot against my Owner, even dare to sell , are simply courting death!” she said.
Afterward, she reverted to her original form and bit all of the bandits to death.
The bandits died with their eyes wide open, and their bodies were burned to ashes by a ball of fire.
After setting the fire, Logan took the opportunity to caution Little White.
“See that, Little White? Outside, the hearts of people are malicious; there’s no shortage of such people. Rember, never trust anyone lightly,” he said.
Little White pursed her lips, but still took his words to heart, nodding in agreent.
“Alright, you’ve paid your respects, we should head back now,” he said.
Little White didn’t insist on lingering there. People must look ahead, and she would have her own future. Soday, she would return here.
“Okay,” she said.
Little White nodded, and the two quickly returned to their lodgings.
Nineteen was waiting for them, and without asking much, he urged.
“Is everything taken care of? If everything is done, we can set out,” he said.
Logan nodded his head.
“It’s all done, Master. Let’s set out now,” he said.
Nineteen didn’t say anything, and the group quickly gathered their luggage and left.
They were headed for the border of the Demon Realm, crossing a vast desert wasteland.
After passing through this area, they had been traveling for several days and decided to take a rest.
They ca upon the only inn in sight, knowing if they didn’t rest there, it would be difficult to find a second place.
The Shop Assistant’s eyes lit up when he saw them, displaying a warmth that was both peculiar and sowhat excessive, his gaze as excited as if he had spotted prey.
“Gentlen, please co in!” he invited.
Normally, the joyous excitent at the sudden appearance of a custor in such a desolate place would be understandable.
However, Logan was no fool; he sensed sothing more sinister.
From his travels, he had encountered all sorts of people.
The Shop Assistant had hidden his greed quite well, yet Logan’s sharp senses had detected it.
Clearly, Logan couldn’t show his hand at that ti. With the enemy in the dark and him in the light, who knew what the Shop Assistant might do if he noticed sothing amiss?
Nevertheless, Logan covertly communicated his concerns to his Master, Nineteen.
“Master, be careful. There’s sothing off about this Shop Assistant,” he conveyed.
In his mind ca his Master’s slightly disdainful voice.
“Hmph, I’ve known for a while now. Brat, your Master has seen more of the world than the amount of salt you’ve eaten. I have encountered no shortage of such people, but indeed, there’s nowhere else to go at the mont. We’ll play it by ear and see what kind of tricks these people have up their sleeves,” Nineteen replied.
Logan: …
His Master was indeed carefree, knowingly walking into potential danger, aware that this might be a trap, yet proceeding as if heading straight into a tiger’s den.
Alright then, Logan didn’t think his Master was simply being brave; rather, he suspected a plan to fish in troubled waters was at play.
And so, it was unclear who would end up deceived—this suspicious inn or the fad Blood Nineteen.
Who will eat whom? Who is darker?
A mischievous smile curled the corners of Logan’s mouth as he thought this, then he calmly entered the inn.
The Shop Assistant looked them up and down, his gaze revealing a aningful expression, especially after seeing Little White, as if a glint of brightness flashed in his eyes.
