Chapter 835: Chapter 493: The City of Nine Wings
Logan clutched his wildly pounding heart, willing it to calm down quickly while shifting his gaze back to the demon in front of him.
“I didn’t expect you to stay conscious after drinking my Peach Blossom Wine, you seem to be far stronger than the stinking n here in the tavern,”
If she didn’t show her true form, the Wine Lady looked delicate and fragile, her visage alluring. Sadly, her eyes emitted a green light at that mont, making her appear extrely terrifying.
“What exactly does this wine do? You can’t possibly want everyone to perish with you, can you?!”
When Logan uttered these words, there was a trace of disbelief in his voice.
However, considering the kind of wine he had tasted for the first ti, the dosage in the wine was not lethal.
He had just carefully analyzed the effects and found that it was a spell designed to attach to a man and siphon his yang energy over a prolonged period.
“I’d like them all to die with , but you ca a bit early today, so I’m not without rcy. I might let them go if you can defeat .”
The Wine Maiden revealed her sharp fangs after speaking and no longer maintained her human form. Instead, she transford into a blue and white fox, but what struck Logan the most was that the belly of this blue and white fox remained bulging—it was clear that she was pregnant and unable to conceal this particular trait.
“These n didn’t wrong you in any way, did they? Why do you wish to put them in mortal danger!”
Logan needed to assess whether the creature before him was benign or malevolent. If she was benign, he could disrupt her Cultivation Level and spare her life. But if she was inherently wicked, he wouldn’t hesitate to end her existence.
“n deserve to die, do they need a reason? Those who masquerade as upright Immortals like yourself make want to vomit. I’d love to rip you apart and devour you, using your flesh and blood to honor myself!”
The Wine Maiden had completely transford into the form of a fox, and upon closer inspection, Logan realized she did not have just one fox tail.
On the contrary, she was supposed to be from the Nine-tailed Fox Clan, but for reasons unknown, all her tails had vanished except for the last one.
Logan understood. It seed that she had a tumultuous affinity with a man, which was why she was so crazily bent on revenge against n.
“You can’t think like that. There are many good n in the world. How can you negate all just because of one? Now, lift your magic and stop siphoning their yang energy. Maybe I’ll spare your life!”
The Wine Maiden, as if hearing a joke, burst into loud laughter, a sound so heart-wrenchingly sorrowful even Logan could feel its sadness.
Tears of blood stread from the Wine Maiden’s eyes as she cried, but she did not stop. Instead, she shrieked at Logan, recounting the sins of those n.
“I was once just a minor demon from the Nine-tailed Fox Clan, naive to the world, and was deceived by a man. He drugged with wine and sold to a brothel—to be ridden by thousands, cursed by thousands! Later, I t an Immortal who claid he could rescue from my plight. I foolishly believed him, loved him for 500 years, and for him, I lost seven tails. But what in the end!”
“When he found out I was carrying his child, he tried to have killed. I had no choice but to sever another tail to escape! Tell , what is real!”
The Wine Maiden’s screams caused Logan to flinch; he had never imagined that a demon labeled evil by humanity could be so cruelly deceived by humans.
But this, too, was within the realm of expectation, as humans were never just passive bystanders.
Knowing what had transpired, Logan realized that the Wine Maiden before him was only superior in her expertise with wine, and her Cultivation Level was not particularly impressive.
Moreover, now that only one tail was left, her life hung by a thread, and her strength had dwindled. There was no chance she could be a match for him.
“Cease this now, I will disrupt your Cultivation Level and spare your life,”
Logan saw this as an act of compassion toward the Wine Maiden, but upon hearing his words, her face drained of any trace of a smile.
“You n are always so arrogant, presuming to impose what you think is best upon others! Assuming others will like the outco! But let tell you, keep dreaming. I will make sure all the n in the Hundred Flowers Pavilion die with !”
No longer restraining herself, the Wine Maiden began chanting a spell. Before she could finish, Logan could feel the previously unexpelled effects of the potion stirring within him, causing pain as if a thousand ants were gnawing at his heart.
Just when Logan felt he could barely endure it any longer, a green light suddenly burst from the center of his forehead, enveloping him in its radiance.
A warm current flowed through him, washing away all the agony from his body.
Logan’s furrowed brows finally relaxed. When he reopened his eyes, he failed to notice the hint of green light within them.
“If you’re so determined, then I’ll end you.”
As Logan’s words fell, Spiritual Power began swirling around him.
He was a master at manipulating Spiritual Power, so he could launch an attack using the ambient energy even without a lee weapon.
Such a technique may seem feeble, but it’s a surprisingly deadly and unexpected attack.
Logan drew a restraining formation on the ground using Spiritual Power to prevent the Wine Maiden from fleeing. The Wine Maiden, unwilling to show weakness, locked eyes with Logan; her gaze had shifted from the previous green to a now red hue.
The Wine Maiden was pregnant, and tonight was the ti for her delivery. She hadn’t planned on taking risks, but eting Logan tonight brought back mories of the man who had deceived her for 500 years.
