Chapter 495: Chapter 481: Mist, Corpses, and Demons

Wu Wen’s efficiency in handling and analyzing events appeared remarkably high.

Luo Di also noticed the weapon the other person used to slay the corpse, a sword… a sword that didn’t need any backpack to carry, directly concealed within the body.

Although it was stained with water when drawn, it was also mixed with an undeniably pungent sll of flesh and blood.

However, now is not the ti to analyze partners.

Since Wu Wen quickly provided the optimal exploration plan, the two imdiately rushed towards the deepest part to investigate the dangerous corpses that first appeared on campus.

There were so randomly placed carts blocking the road along the way, forcing Luo Di to leap over them.

Wu Wen, however, chose to crawl, moving effortlessly on the ceiling, arriving faster than Luo Di and landing first in the deepest part.

[Mortuary One]

Compared to the chaos outside,

inside was exceptionally tidy, the entire mortuary devoid of random placents; all corpses were stored in freezers, sealed for preservation.

Ti was scarce,

Luo Di and Wu Wen opened two different freezers, slicing open the corpse bags.

In the extre cold, the corpses were well preserved with little signs of decay.

Just as Wu Wen had anticipated, these initial suicide victims that appeared on campus were treated seriously by the hospital, with tags containing complete information hanging on their toes.

These records showed a very clear commonality, recognizable at a glance.

[Life Science College]

Both students and teachers belonged to this college.

This implied that the root cause of the mass suicides, facial organ degeneration, and brain deformities within the school was highly likely connected to this college.

Furthermore,

these first batch of suicide victims matched the condition of the latest female corpse at the entrance.

Moreover, their brains were more like fingers, with the surface grooves resembling deep fingerprints.

After determining no more useful information was available, Luo Di and Wu Wen exchanged a glance and quickly closed the freezers. With 37 seconds left from the two-minute limit, there was plenty of ti to leave.

There was no reckless behavior from either of them, decisively retreating.

But just as they stepped out of Mortuary One,

the sight before them caused Luo Di to frown, gripping the tal bat tightly as gray tentacles began to appear on his face.

“Wu Wen, killing the corpse shouldn’t increase the ‘Chaos Value,’ right?”

“In such abnormal circumstances, the Chaos Value doesn’t need to be considered; do what you want, but our main focus should be escape.”

“Okay.”

In the mortuary corridor,

the corpses that were initially lying on the carts now stood, with white sheets falling to the ground.

All deceased had committed suicide by jumping, landing face-first, but due to the varying heights and weights from the jumps, the extent of facial damage varied.

When the corpses “saw” the two living individuals who weren’t supposed to be in the mortuary, they didn’t attack like in zombie movies but stayed in a normal standing position.

They weren’t entirely motionless;

a movent more horrifying than zombies began instantly.

Crackling sounds.

From their faceless damaged faces, their finger-like brains squeezed out like worms, probing out.

Breathing, mist spewing between brain grooves.

It would have been fine if it were just one corpse,

but now there were over twenty corpses standing in the corridor.

Moreover, sounds also emanated from other mortuaries, with threads of mist leaking from freezer cracks into the corridor.

All corpses here were awakened, or perhaps they had already been awakened long ago.

“Run!”

Luo Di and Wu Wen hesitated not for a second,

covering their nose and mouth, trying their utmost not to think about the mist, focusing only on the idea of escaping.

Wu Wen swiftly crawled along the ceiling,

Luo Di relied on the murderer’s Strong Body, forcibly crashing through, causing corpses along the way to scatter like bowling pins.

Even if limbs broke, skulls were cracked, or spines were damaged, their finger-like brains on the faces continued breathing, emitting mist.

This mist slowly began integrating into the corridor walls,

the relatively short corridor started to ‘stretch,’

just as the two were about to reach the exit, the corridor suddenly doubled in length, with the electronic gate closing rapidly along with the final countdown.

The previously ample ti instantly beca tense.

Wu Wen’s speed was faster and uninterrupted on the ceiling, keeping up with the corridor’s stretching.

Calculating this way, she could barely squeeze through with two seconds to spare.

Luo Di, on the other hand, was uncertain; even his spine beca exaggerated for running, but due to the obstruction of corpses, it was still a little slow, just barely making escape difficult.

Seeing this,

Wu Wen suddenly slowed down as she was about to exit through the electronic gate, intentionally staying inside.

Click~ Door locked!

Luo Di missed by a second, not helped by his frown.

The next mont, he picked up the tal bat and forcefully struck the surface of the electronic iron gate.

This tal door couldn’t withstand his strength, quickly being completely demolished… but behind the door wasn’t the outer corridor, it was a solid concrete wall.

Once the door closed, the space beca entirely sealed.

“Wu Wen, you should have left…”

“Not necessary; it seems soone is deliberately controlling the speed at which the space stretches, exploiting the difference in our speeds, intending to separate us.

Let’s survive together.”

“Alright.”

Both turned around simultaneously, looking again towards the mortuary area.

The corpses still stood in place, yet their brains had stopped emitting mist, with the stretched corridor only hazed over slightly.

However, at the end of the corridor appeared sothing else.

A television set…

A television set Luo Di had seen before on the eighth floor of the additional dormitory.

Click!

The television turned on, displaying an image of a mouth breathing.

Thick mist seeped out from the bottom of the television,

step!

The mysterious figure erged again along with the mist,

the slender body reached the corridor’s height, with the uppermost head shrouded, face hidden by mist.

Echoing sounds of leather shoes emanated from inside the television, carrying a deadly pressure, pressing closer.

Differing from the dormitory incident,

there were neither windows nor staircases here.

This was a completely enclosed space, with nowhere to escape.

Luo Di also imdiately inflicted pain on himself, yet what occurred before him wasn’t a hallucination but reality.

The real mortuary, corpses, television, and mysterious figure.

Step, step, step!

The footsteps drew near,

acting as a death knell urging the two to think of a way out,

the usually calm and composed Wu Wen, who slept peacefully upon arriving at the school, now sweated coldly. Though she could devise a strategy, the death rate proved higher than the chance of escape.

Observing the mysterious presence and mist origin inching closer,

she even panicked, instinctively approaching Luo Di.

However,

hiss~ smoke rose.

This proximity nearly burned her!

Luo Di’s body was heating rapidly, skin already inflad crimson.

“Luo Di, did you think of a way out?”

Wu Wen’s inquiry quickly received a response, with ashes drifting before her, clearing surrounding cold air; even scorch marks extended from beneath her feet.

“I did.”

“What should we do?”

“Use all our strength, kill him (Demon Language).”

Upon hearing this unknown language from the Otherworld, Wu Wen abruptly noticed the ashes floating in the air, seemingly gathering into a curved horn on Luo Di’s face.
