Natalie took out the file but hadn’t yet turned a page when her phone rang.

"What are you doing?"

Isaac Vaughn’s deep voice ca through the phone.

Natalie instinctively didn’t tell the truth.

"Looking at company information."

"So diligent," Isaac said. "I won’t disturb you then, carry on."

"Alright then."

She hung up.

Natalie looked at the file in her hand.

Hesitated for a few seconds.

Opened it.

——

Rhovan.

Vaughn Group Branch Office.

"Hey!"

Natalie was stopped by a chubby man in a security uniform, who squinted at her with a slight frown.

The chubby security guard grinned so much his eyes were gone, "You don’t rember ? You ca here a while ago looking for our Vice President, but you didn’t go up."

"What’s up? Do you have an appointnt today?"

Natalie didn’t say anything.

The chubby security guard continued unprompted, "No appointnt, no problem. I’ll take you up."

He patted his chest, took out his phone, "Add on contact, okay? Last ti you left so suddenly, I didn’t catch up with you."

"No need."

Natalie said coldly and bypassed him.

Unexpectedly, he continued to pester her.

"Hey! Without an appointnt, you really can’t go up. I’m not a bad person, what are you afraid of?"

"See, you make it seem like I’m pestering you."

The chubby security guard said, feeling slightly irritated, thinking Natalie was a bit ungrateful.

At this mont, a surprised male voice sounded:

"Miss Kendall?"

Natalie turned around and saw a middle-aged man she didn’t recognize.

The chubby security guard imdiately greeted the newcor respectfully, "Hello, President Whitman!"

Frederick Whitman didn’t spare him a glance, quickly approached Natalie, and introduced himself, "Hello Miss Kendall, I’m Frederick Whitman."

The chubby security guard was nearly frightened to death.

He realized Natalie was not an ordinary person.

anwhile, Frederick Whitman glanced at the chubby security guard, responded, and asked Natalie, "Is sothing wrong, Miss Kendall? Did he offend you?"

As he spoke, Frederick Whitman coldly announced to the chubby security guard, "You’re fired!"

"What? President Whitman! I didn’t..." The chubby security guard’s face turned ashen, trying to plead, but Frederick Whitman didn’t give him a chance.

"This way please, Miss Kendall."

Natalie was invited to the upstairs office by Frederick Whitman.

Passing by, he saw Vivienne Jordan and instructed, "Vivienne, bring two cups of coffee in."

After a pause, he rembered sothing and asked Natalie, "Miss Kendall, would you like coffee, or perhaps tea or sothing else?"

Natalie: "Coffee is fine."

"Alright, alright." Frederick Whitman turned to see Vivienne still standing there in a daze, frowned, "Vivienne, coffee."

Vivienne snapped back and responded promptly, then turned and briskly walked to the pantry.

While preparing the coffee, she couldn’t help but ponder about encountering Natalie earlier.

Why did Natalie’s gaze feel so unfamiliar?

As if they had never t before.

Yet clearly, they had t when she went to Seaharbor seeking reconciliation with Isaac Vaughn.

General Manager’s office.

Frederick Whitman cautiously spoke with Natalie.

But Natalie appeared indifferent to his complints.

"Uncle, I’m back! Isn’t Isaac Vaughn completely nuts?! Why does he keep running to construction sites for no reason?!"

The office door was thrown open, and a young man entered cursing.

"Shut up!"

Frederick Whitman abruptly stood up, reprimanded, and observed Natalie’s expression.

The young man hadn’t expected anyone else to be present and closed his mouth imdiately.

"Miss Kendall, shall I have soone take you to Vice President Vaughn’s office?"

Natalie stood up and said calmly, "Thanks."

"Not a problem, not a problem, it’s no trouble at all."

After sending Natalie off, Frederick Whitman kicked his nephew’s behind, "You brat!"

The young man clutched his rear in indignation, "I didn’t know anyone else was here!"

After dusting off the shoe print on his pants, he asked, "Uncle, who is she, that you’re acting like a grandson?"

"Her, huh." Frederick Whitman sneered, "Chairwoman of Beckett Group."

"What?!"

——

After spending the whole morning at the construction site, Isaac Vaughn returned at noon, looking disheveled.

A recent project had Frederick Whitman directly dispatching him to keep an eye on the site.

Supposedly in charge, but really just an excuse to grind him down.

Even having his nephew tag along to monitor him.

He pushed open the office door.

Seated behind the desk, Natalie spun in her chair to face him as Isaac Vaughn still had one hand on the doorknob.

Isaac Vaughn initially thought he was hallucinating.

Natalie got up, walked over, slipped her hands around his lean waist, and pressed herself against him.

It was only then Isaac Vaughn returned to his senses, imdiately grabbed her shoulders to push her away, saying, "I’m dirty. Be good, hug you later."

"I don’t mind," Natalie said.

Isaac Vaughn chuckled deeply and pulled her in for a hug.

Inhaling the scent beside her neck, he asked, "Why suddenly visit?"

"Do you have to go to the construction site again, Isaac Vaughn?" Natalie asked. "Aren’t you the Vice President?"

"Yeah, just checking the project’s progress, not going to lay bricks."

Isaac Vaughn leaned back and playfully tapped her nose, "Let’s go, head ho."

*

Returning ho, Isaac Vaughn went to take a shower first.

When he ca out, his phone rang.

He gave it a glance, and answered with a cool deanor, "Hello, President Whitman."

Natalie entered from outside.

He beckoned her over, hugged her while sitting on the bed.

"Yeah, got it."

After hanging up, he pinned her to the bed, kissing her for quite a while.

Her lips turned slightly swollen from the kisses, eyes suffused with a thin layer of moisture, looking rather vulnerable.

"Frederick Whitman invited you to dinner tonight."

Natalie: "I don’t like him."

"Then don’t go."

He was about to call Frederick Whitman.

Natalie grasped his arm, t his gaze, and said, "Forget it, let’s go."

He is her boss, she didn’t want him to be targeted at work because of her.

——

That evening, Frederick Whitman arranged the venue at Rhovan’s largest club.

Besides him, there was the young man Natalie saw in the office today, his nephew Leo Taylor, and other company executives—the whole box was packed with people.

Upon entering, Natalie couldn’t help but wrinkle her nose, instinctively leaning closer to Isaac Vaughn beside her.

"Miss Kendall, Vice President Vaughn, you’re here, please take a seat."

Frederick Whitman greeted warmly.

During a break, Natalie stepped out once.

Upon returning, she accidentally took a wrong turn.

Just as she was about to turn away, she heard a lecherous voice:

"Second Master Vaughn is a total mooch! Haha! But he’s good, scoring such a rich catch, dining with the Chairwoman of Beckett Group."

"Must’ve worked hard in bed. Pleasing his little uncle’s fiancée. Hahaha!"

"Do you think when they’re doing it, does one call her ’little aunt’ and the other ’nephew,’ to make it more thrilling?"

Natalie’s face remained expressionless, but her eyes were cold enough to freeze.

Without a word, she turned back to the box.

Within two minutes, Frederick Whitman also returned.

"Miss Kendall, I toast you with this drink."

Frederick Whitman downed his drink with a sycophantic smile, "Miss Kendall, actually our company has a project we are very keen to collaborate on with Beckett Group. Would we be fortunate enough?"
