Qin Lun identified six individuals who had abnormal strength beyond their rank. Of course, this was not to say only these six possessed such ability in the region. Instead, these were the only ones he had observed through the monitoring system so far.
The Underground Research Facility’s Monitoring Room could survey a large area around it. However, due to so damaged monitoring equipnt, Qin Lun could only cover about one-seventh of the Domination War area.
The Domination War zone they were in was less than ten square kiloters, including the Celestial Wheel branch fortress, a large residential area, a small comrcial district, and part of a large green park.
The Underground Research Facility was located right at the center of the Domination War region, with the ground level consisting of the comrcial area and the green park. The Parking Lot where Qin Lun fought the one-eyed sniper was in the comrcial district, which was also part of the monitored area.
Although the monitoring area was not very large, since it was situated at the heart of the Domination War, Qin Lun believed he had seen most of the participating Apostles after watching the surveillance footage for several days.
Those six abnormal individuals might not include all the cross-rank powerhouses, but they probably represented the majority. Even if so were missed, Qin Lun felt it was not very important. If he had to choose a target, it would largely have to be from these six people.
Among the six, the swordsman Long Feng, whom he was most familiar with, was the first to be excluded. This swordsman had high Agility and high attack power, with sword energy skills that could both attack and defend. Qin Lun felt that even if he set a trap, he probably could not kill him. If Long Feng managed to break the trap, Qin Lun was not very confident about escaping either.
The second person he excluded was the Kung Fu Girl nlo! This girl was basically a battle maniac. Ever since she obtained the Treasure Map information, she had not stopped fighting for several days. She probably had the most Invitation Letters on her currently.
Judging from her fighting style, Qin Lun had a decent chance of challenging her. He genuinely liked dealing with this type of muscular but slightly simple-minded battle fanatic. Unfortunately, nlo had two little followers tagging along.
In terms of fighting strength, those two Apostle followers were probably the weakest among the remaining Apostles. Even Qin Lun was confident he could defeat them head-on. However, when combined with the Kung Fu Girl nlo, no one dared to target them.
Qin Lun had personally witnessed in the surveillance footage how nlo, with their help, managed to kill another powerhouse with cross-rank strength. That battle was also the most exciting one among all the surveillance recordings.
That powerhouse was originally even slightly stronger than nlo. Unfortunately, the two followers by nlo’s side were too sneaky. They set many obstacles for him during the fight, and in the end, he could not even escape and died at nlo’s hands.
After that battle, the Kung Fu Girl’s confidence soared, and her state beca explosive. In the following days, she killed every opponent she encountered. Qin Lun really did not want to fight such a battle maniac.
The third person Qin Lun excluded was the Puppet Master. nlo only had two helpers, but the Puppet Master was not clear-cut. Qin Lun had seen him fight several tis, and the puppets he used each ti were different. It was impossible to tell how many trump cards he had.
After being shrunk, the puppets were about the size of a palm. The Puppet Master always preferred to stay inside one of his puppets and had never been seen coming out into the sunlight. This Puppet Master was clearly very different from the Summoner from the selection matches, with rich combat experience and a cautious personality. Qin Lun was not very confident about setting a trap for him.
The fourth person Qin Lun gave up on was the Female Knight. The mount under her was likely a summoned beast. Logically, this type of knight in full plate armor would have low Agility and speed as their weaknesses. Yet, one could not overlook that she had a great mount! A tall horse fully armored was basically a moving fortress.
If it were in a forest or swamp area, Qin Lun could have given it a try. Unfortunately, this Female Knight was well aware of her weaknesses and rarely strayed far from wide streets or flat, open ground. In such places, none of the other powerhouses dared to provoke her, let alone Qin Lun.
The two targets Qin Lun finally selected were the scary Assassin and the bald man who only wore an animal skin skirt and appeared to carry no other Apostle equipnt.
The bald man’s fighting ability was very strange. Qin Lun watched the combat footage over a dozen tis and eventually speculated that his ability was sothing like a thorny aura with damage reflection.
This bald man was probably a very special MT, with incredibly high Constitution and a reflective damage aura that worked within a range. Moreover, what was most peculiar was that the man could hide this reflective damage, only unleashing it after accumulating to a certain extent, causing his opponents to die mysteriously.
As for the other, the Assassin, his scariness needed no further explanation. Among the several powerhouses, only his combat footage exceeded that of nlo’s. He likely held no less than ten, or even more, Invitation Letters at present.
However, although he had the most fight recordings, the total combat ti was less than a single fight from others. Qin Lun watched several of his battles, where he killed his opponents in just a few exchanges. No Novice Apostle could last more than three minutes against him.
The Assassin’s formidable attack power left a deep impression on Qin Lun. If he were to rank the six cross-rank powerhouses, this Assassin would be slightly stronger than the other five. The others might be able to fight a Second-Order Apostle, but this Assassin could probably kill a regular Second-Order Apostle.
Choosing these two opponents ant Qin Lun had to take greater risks. However, Qin Lun believed that among the six powerhouses, only these two had fighting styles that countered his own and were the only possible targets he could eliminate.
The Assassin’s attack power was indeed unmatched, but Qin Lun believed his stealth could not deceive him. The Hunter Profession was naturally the nesis of Rogues and Assassins. No matter how strong that Apostle was, he could not defy class disadvantages.
Of course, the Assassin’s direct combat ability far surpassed Qin Lun’s. To kill him, Qin Lun needed to design a tight trap to prevent him from utilizing his high attack and high Agility. Once his stealth was detected, the Assassin Profession’s weaknesses of low health and low defense would be exposed.
This was why Qin Lun chose the Assassin and not the equally high-attack, high-Agility swordsman.
As for the bald man, although his combat ability was strange, Qin Lun believed he was also countered by him. After all, no matter how powerful a passive aura was, it had a certain range.
The bald man had high strength and high Constitution, so his speed and Agility definitely would not be very high. As long as he stayed outside the aura’s range, a long-range combat profession still had a chance to defeat him.
However, others knew this, and the bald man himself was aware, so he must have prepared counters for long-range professions. There were many types of such counters; for example, the charge skill Qin Lun prepared for Frank was one of them.
If the long-range profession lacked sufficient speed and attack power, it would be easy for the bald man to charge through the attacks and kill them.
Therefore, to defeat the bald man, the long-range profession needed to have a certain attack intensity. Their own speed and defense could not be too low, so they could dodge in ti and withstand the bald man’s short-distance charge. At the sa ti, the long-range profession needed to have so tracking ability to avoid grinding for a long ti only to have the bald man escape in the end.
And Qin Lun precisely believed that he fit this description. His Burial of Light and Darkness was very powerful; even an MT might not withstand many shots, especially in this Domination War area with no logistical support.
Though his Agility was not very high, he had Swift Wind Step and Pentagram Crystal Mirror, which could make do. In terms of defense, Qin Lun had Earth Drake Leather Armor, and Cerberus could also act as a shield when necessary. He did not think the bald man could reach him just by relying on a few charge skills.
As for tracking ability, Qin Lun was a hunter himself. His several auxiliary Eye Techniques were the best tracking skills. At least in this Domination War battlefield, Qin Lun did not believe anyone could escape the sight of Clock Eye.
The only thing he needed to worry about was having his prey taken by other powerhouses during the tracking process.
Even with class advantages, in a direct confrontation, Qin Lun still had a very small chance of winning. He needed to design a trap for the target. However, in the Domination War area, which was all ruins, everyone was sowhat wary of unfamiliar terrain. Combined with their rich adventure experience, making them fall for a trap would not be easy.
This was really different from dealing with Qingming. Finding a specific location like a hill cave in the Domination War area was simply impossible. Even if such a place existed, Qin Lun did not have ti to find it now.
Qin Lun stared intently at the combat footage, his expression changing uncertainly, completely unaware that a small figure had appeared behind him. Only when Little Mute stood in front of him, blocking the projection screen, did he snap out of it.
“Are you full? Then go to sleep!” Looking at the little runt before him, a faint smile appeared on Qin Lun’s face.
Qin Lun was not an ordinary person. Even when facing seemingly unbeatable powerhouses, he still regarded them as prey in his heart. The difference was whether they were tigers or mice. The young man never felt fear, only excitent and eagerness.
However, upon seeing Little Mute’s clear black and white eyes, Qin Lun felt the fighting spirit in his heart gradually fade. He suddenly thought if he died here, Little Mute would probably not survive the first Quest World either.
“Give up the final fight?” Qin Lun’s eyes flickered slightly, and for the first ti, a hint of hesitation appeared on his face.
“Never mind, I’ve gained quite a bit anyway!” After weighing it briefly, Qin Lun sighed softly, the excitent in his heart receding like the tide.
“Yaya!” A glint suddenly flashed in Little Mute’s big eyes as he turned and pointed at the combat footage projection, shouting loudly.
“You…” Qin Lun was slightly taken aback, frowned, and slowly shook his head. “I did promise you we would enjoy others’ deaths together. But it’s too early; you can’t help yet.”
“Yaya!” Little Mute puffed out his cheeks and shook his little fist.
“The sniper… that ti was luck!” Qin Lun rolled his eyes in exasperation.
“Yaya!” Little Mute, with his thin reed-like arms akimbo, stood in front of Qin Lun. The two stared at each other, neither giving in.
