Lara and Joseph were pretty busy with their research on one of the most critical things in the world, or at least that’s what they assigned it to be in their minds. They were too busy with things and didn’t want to be disturbed. It was what they inford their assistant and front desk receptionist, who takes care of the visitors.

The couple thought that it would be a waste of their ti to acknowledge every visitor. So, they hired help to greet and treat the visitors. Only if it is of importance does the help have the right to co and disturb them; otherwise, the help must send away the visitors.

As one of the foremost experts in the field of investigating unidentified objects, they were pretty famous. Many hunters would co by to know if they had found a treasure. More than 99% of them are fakes.

They didn’t intend to waste their ti on those people. The hired help would do the initial tests, and accordingly, the visitors are taken care of. If the object were fake, they would be sent away quickly.

Only if it proves to be probably genuine do the couple bother to show up. Even then, there are chances of the objects being just common or fakes.

Preliminary tests are just beginner tests. They can’t tell perfectly, but the pro is that they are cheaper to do than the tests that co later on. This way, ti and resources can be saved, even though there are chances of wrong identification sotis.

There was nothing they could do. If they follow the proper procedure every ti, the resources deplete easily. Sure, custors are the ones who pay, but most of the ti, they are financially disadvantaged.

It was the reason they would look out for items like that.

If they find a genuine item, instead of paying for the test, they would share a portion of the object’s value with the couple. This was how they did business.

Although they lost so money in this process, they gained a lot of reputation, and most people would co to him, including the wealthiest individuals, which would not only fill the treasury’s holes but also provide a surplus.

That day, things were going as usual when the couple’s office received a guest, not a visitor.

The man ca representing the Alliance, and he has all the credentials to prove that. So, the help imdiately went to fetch their masters, while making sure that the guest was comfortable until the couple arrived.

"Hello, Mr. Trevor, nice to et you. How may we aid the Alliance?" the couple asked the representative.

Trevor smiled and said, "Direct, I see. I like it, but do you have a place where we can speak in private? The things we are going to discuss are sowhat critical and can’t be leaked, no matter what".

The couple nodded and took him to a secure room, where they would be undisturbed.

Once the man was sure that no one would be spying on them, he laid out the carefully planned docunt in front of the couple. The docunt pertained to the ruins they had found in the Wastelands.

Although most details are not included, they did note that there are many losses due to the unstable behaviour of the ruins, especially with what happened to one of the team mbers.

An explorer nad Aaron touched an unidentified object while searching for the possibility of a key to safely enter the ruins, which might be present in the surrounding region. When he touched the object, a portal opened and swallowed him.

The description attracted their attention.

Space is an elent that everyone is interested in.

Most of the elents are easy to grasp, but a few are very challenging, such as Space, Ti, Life, and Death. These elents are very challenging to gauge accurately. Even the professionals who are awakened to professions related to these elents can’t get a grip on them. They most likely follow what was given rather than create sothing new.

No one would create skills but depend on resource skill scrolls, which would give skills, or on the system, which grants them so as they rank up.

There are a few who would create new skills with their own research, but those are confined to common elents, not rare elents like these.

Although space is a rare and not an easy elent to understand, studies on space are always ongoing. This was because space magic can facilitate teleportation, making it easier to traverse long distances.

It was very enticing, and when the couple heard that the object created a portal that would swallow the person who activated it by accident, they agreed imdiately. It would be a very rare chance for anyone to get to observe such things.

---

The couple followed the Alliance representative to the Wastelands. They conducted a preliminary check on the object, and what they learned was more than the Alliance had been able to accomplish in the past few days.

The Alliance granted almost everything the couple requested.

Instead of shipping the object to a location with thousands of people, where any experint might have disastrous effects, the equipnt was transferred here.

The couple also gained access to the ruins that have been excavated to date. It was not easy to unearth everything, even with the supernatural abilities.

The ruins have beco almost completely integrated with the surrounding area. So, excavation is a bit slow, but from what they observed on the surface, that was more than enough for them to occupy their ti for now.

Complete excavation might give them answers quickly, but where is the satisfaction in doing so? The couple are researchers, and for them, finding sothing from limited clues or even no clues is the most satisfactory thing.

Without much delay, they began working on what they had, and they even received a reaction from the object after weeks of experintation. Though it was just a spark, it was more than enough to show that they were moving in the right direction.

Soon, this research may even help them gain even more fa and riches, which could help them to dive into studies that are costly.
