Fang Che's heart was trembling in awe and veneration at the riveting story he had just heard.

If it weren't for Jun Lin, this continent would've most likely already ceased tens of thousands of years ago, before Dongfang Sansan had even been born.

"You'll be pleased to learn that there is now one more person capable of fighting against a god, and he's one currently leading the world in its battle against the demonic forces."

With that, Fang Che gave Jun Lin a rundown of the state of the continent and Dongfang Sansan's feats.

A look of longing appeared in Jun Lin's eyes as he sighed, "What I wouldn't give to be alive again. With Dongfang's wisdom paving the path, my powers would surely be put to good use. So instead of centipede demons, we're now dealing with the Church of the Self-Righteous? And you're telling they're humans? How could so many humans have betrayed their own kind like this?!"

"It's because of a thing known as the Five Spirit Parasite," Fang Che explained. "It's a parasite that alters the mind and personality of its host over ti, so the people of the Church of the Self-Righteous can no longer even be considered humans."

"All of this is because of a re parasite?" Jun Lin exclaid. "Actually, it all makes sense now..."

"What is it, Senior?"

"That day, after I killed that spirit sense centipede, it exploded into countless tiny particles, as did all of the centipede demons in the valley. At the ti, I didn't think anything of it. I simply thought the spirit sense centipede had disintegrated after it was defeated. No wonder I wasn't able to find even a single centipede demon after that..."

"Could it be that the spirit sense centipede from back then didn't actually die?" Fang Che speculated. "Instead, it's only suffered a severe setback, and it's now controlling this continent through different ans while recuperating? After all, if the spirit centipede had truly died, then the Heavenly Centipede Deity would've surely sensed it and sent another one to our world."

"That theory seems to make sense, but it feels like sothing isn't quite right about it," Jun Lin mused.

A wry smile appeared on Fang Che's face upon hearing this because that was exactly how he felt.

The spirit sense centipede had shown itself capable of creating centipede demons, so why didn't it simply create more? If the spirit sense centipede were truly still around, but in a severely weakened state, then couldn't it simply ask the Heavenly Centipede Deity to restore it to peak condition with the deity's divine power?

A sense of fury and indignation welled up in Jun Lin's heart at the thought that the spirit sense centipede was still alive.

He was dead, while it still remained.

His fury slowly turned to sorrow as he ca to terms with the helplessness of his situation.

After a long silence, he asked, "Does anyone in the world still rember ?"

Fang Che was struck by a pang of sympathy as he replied with a nod, "Of course. Otherwise, I wouldn't have co here."

"I bet the historical records of are all inaccurate nonsense," Jun Lin chuckled.

Fang Che lowered his head with an awkward expression.

The problem was that there were no historical records of Jun Lin at all! Perhaps the greatest hero that the continent had ever seen had been completely lost to the sands of ti!

"How many years have passed since I was around?" Jun Lin asked.

"I can't say for sure, but it's at least been thirty to forty thousand years," Fang Che replied in an uncertain manner.

Even Jun Lin seed very much taken aback by this answer.

"It's already been that long, huh?"

All of a sudden, Fang Che was overco by a sense of duty, a duty to reciprocate this fallen hero, and he asked, "Would you be able to tell your life story, Senior? I want to have a book written about you after I leave so everyone can learn about your feats!"

"I do not care for what people think of ," Jun Lin chuckled. "I've lived a rich life with no regrets, and I don't need those who've co after to sing ballads of my feats!"

"That's very admirable of you, Senior," Fang Che praised in an earnest voice.

"Besides, I've already written everything down in all of the ti that I've been here, and I've even had ti to edit everything several tis," Jun Lin continued. "It just needs a slight touch-up, and it's ready to be published."

He pulled out a thick stack of jade slips as he spoke, while Fang Che looked on in appalled astonishnt.

Admirable my arse!

Jun Lin stuffed the stack of thirty-six jade slips into Fang Che's arms as he urged, "Make sure to keep these safe. There's no need to publish too many copies of my story. I don't really care much whether my story is made known to the masses. Each of these jade slips contains roughly five hundred thousand characters, so in total, it amounts to about sixteen million characters. It's quite a detailed account of my life, you see."

Fang Che didn't know what to say.

Just from this massive character count alone, he knew that the story had to have been excessively drawn-out and embellished.

"With that, my greatest wish has been fulfilled," Jun Lin sighed, looking very pleased.

Fang Che couldn't even bear to look at him.

Isn't your greatest wish to pass down your spear techniques? I thought you didn't care if people knew your story or not!

However, it also made sense to Fang Che. He had done so much for the continent, so why did he deserve to be forgotten?

With that in mind, Fang Che vowed, "Rest assured, Senior, I'll have your story published and released across the entire continent!"

Jun Lin was clearly very pleased, but he was doing his best to suppress his smile and keep up a facade of composure as he replied, "Sure. It's no big deal though, so there's no need to go out of your way."

"You can count on , Senior," Fang Che assured. "Also, there's a question that I've been aning to ask: how was I able to access your inheritance with my paltry power? Even if my spear intent shares so similarities with yours, surely that on its own isn't enough for to access your inheritance."

"I intentionally made it so that my inheritance can only be accessed through perfect spear intent, not power or cultivation base," Jun Lin explained with a smile. "Perfect spear intent cos from a combination of multiple factors, including the most correct posture, the most correct jump, and the most correct spear motion, coupled with a spirit of heroism and justice.

“That is what culminates in the perfect spear intent that I honed my entire life, and without this perfect spear intent, no one would be able to access my inheritance, even if their cultivation base far outstripped mine! I cannot allow my inheritance to fall into the hands of evil forces!"

"I see," Fang Che said with a look of admiration on his face.

It was no wonder that even Duan Xiyang hadn't been able to access the inheritance. He wasn't worthy!

On the topic of spear techniques, an enthusiastic gleam appeared in Jun Lin's eyes, and he revealed, "Over my lifeti, I developed thirteen perfect forms for my Black Gold Spear, known as the Black Thirteen, and one of them is the mid-air thrust that you unleashed to access my inheritance.

“Perfection down to even the finest of details is required to unleash these spear forms, and it's very remarkable that you've been able to attain this level of perfection at such a young age..."

All of a sudden, his voice abruptly cut off as he stared at Fang Che with a stunned expression.

He had only just noticed that Fang Che had been standing in the perfect posture this entire ti, and this had only occurred to him at the ntion of his perfect spear forms.

"How many spear forms have you mastered?" Jun Lin asked.

Fang Che took a mont to do so rough calculations, then replied, "If we take into account all of the different stances combined with the different modes and directions of attack, then it amounts to over 3,600 forms in total."

"Show !" Jun Lin urged with an eager gleam in his eyes.

Fang Che was happy to do so, summoning his divine tal from his consciousness before demonstrating his spear forms to Jun Lin one by one.

Before long, the demonstration was complete, and Fang Che returned to his original standing posture, his spear held in his hand and his robes drenched with sweat.

"Please enlighten , Senior."

Jun Lin's eyes were glowing as if he had stumbled upon a treasure trove, but at the sa ti, there was also a forlorn look on his face.

He had indeed stumbled upon a priceless treasure trove, but he had done so tens of thousands of years too late.
