Chapter 56
There were five monsters. Four headed towards Chu Yunsheng, and the other one flew towards Yao Xiang. When Chu Yunsheng finally killed them, Yao Xiang also killed the other monster using his Fire Ring Cut ability.
However, Chu Yunsheng didn’t have ti to take a break nor check injuries, he just imdiately pulled Yao Xiang back and leaned against the wall. There were hundreds of red eyes not far from them, they belonged to hundreds of monsters!
Even though those monsters didn’t have a strong defence, they could fly, and their speed was very fast. Once they wrapped their prey, they would imdiately release a strange gas. Not only this, people would be suffocated to death if they were trapped by them. Chu Yunsheng also felt that if it wasn’t for the energy shield talisman, the monster would’ve already injected sothing into his body!
He couldn’t imagine if he was attacked by hundreds of those monsters, it made his hairs stand up just thinking about it.
Luckily, Commander Du’s troop attracted those monsters, but Chu Yunsheng didn’t dare to pop his head out again. He could still hear the sounds of the fierce gunfire and horrible screams.
He didn’t know if Ding Yan was okay, but he thought that as long as he stayed in the group, the energy shield should be able to save his life.

Apart from the monsters’ bodies, there were also a few soldiers’ bodies as well, two were the long-faced man’s team mbers. It looked like Commander Du’s troop suffered quite a loss in this battle.
Chu Yunsheng didn’t find Ding Yan’s body, it made him and Yao Xiang feel relieved. But they still didn’t dare to get too close to the troop.

Ding Yan was still alive and the troop didn’t look like they were going to move anyti soon. So they were not worried.

The cafe wasn’t that ss like outside, but he could still see a few strange plants penetrating the wall and growing along the wall. One of the vine plants was illuminating a dim light, which was just enough for them to see what was inside the café.
After checking the building, Chu Yunsheng didn’t find anything dangerous. He then took out so food, sat on a sofa and started to eat the food with Yao Xiang.
Yao Xiang smiled, “I haven’t eaten this much food for a quite long ti.”
Chu Yunsheng quickly finished a bottle of water and told him, “when you finish eating, take a nap first, I’ll take a short break after you wake up. We will leave here in half an hour and find soone we can talk to as soon as possible.”
Yao Xiang nodded, “you just reminded . I really need a rest now.”
They didn’t talk much, and Yao Xiang soon fell asleep on the sofa.
Sitting on the sofa, originally, Chu Yunsheng wanted to cultivate Yuan Qi, but he couldn’t calm down. Then he thought of the red-eyed monster. He rembered that when a monster was attacking him, he felt like the monster’s attack could damage the energy shield!

It instantly reminded him of the insects’ bodies that he found while lurking in the fog. Those bodies had been there for a long ti, Chu Yunsheng didn’t feel any Yuan Qi inside the dead insects’ bodies. He had also stored so of them, so he could upgrade his armor later on.
When he took out an insect’s body to examine it again, he noticed that the insect’s body didn’t have any sign of being attacked by any awakened humans’ fire or ice elental abilities. They all lost their heads, and their internal organs also disappeared quite a lot.
Looking at the monster’s body while thinking about the red-eyed monsters, Chu Yunsheng couldn’t help but think, ‘could it be that the red-shelled insects were killed by those monsters?’
If that was the case, then it ant that those strange gas they released could also destroy the insect’s energy shield?
Chu Yunsheng’s heart started to jump rapidly. The reason why he couldn’t deal with many red-shelled insects and tentacles monsters was that their energy shields were too powerful.
