Xu Shu stroked his chin, and suddenly, inspiration struck.
That’s right, after separating from Su Ji, he had reported to the Archbishop about the cult stirring trouble in the eastern Wasteland, alerting them to be prepared.
The chat records were proof!
He couldn’t be sure if he had missed ntioning sothing, but the upgraded network’s chat records wouldn’t be wrong!
Xu Shu felt reassured and quickly opened the private chat channel with Yu Mingluan, scrolled up several pages in search of the truth.
"I learned about Su Ji’s true struggle on 12/3, just when I had gotten promoted to Second Order Iron Armor. I rember this clearly!"
"If there was sothing missing, it would definitely be on this day!"
Xu Shu rapidly scrolled through the chat records and soon located the one from 12/3. (Note 1)
"Lord Bishop, I have to report! A cult is planning a terror ritual in the eastern Wasteland, involving a sect called the Dark Mother Goddess! Couldn’t get more info; they self-destructed utterly. Do you know what the Dark Mother Goddess is? I’m looking forward to your explanation—a sincerely kind, humanity-concerned, outstanding young man, Xu Shu, reports to you. The details follow..."
──The above was Xu Shu’s own report at that ti.
"Thank you for your letter. The church that worships the Dark Mother Goddess is called the Black Zhen School... I will submit this to the higher-ups of the Astronomy Association..."
──This part was the Archbishop’s reply on that day.
Xu Shu squinted his eyes, repeatedly checking and comparing it sentence by sentence against his mory.
After thorough scrutiny, he found it completely matched his mory.
"It seems there was no omission."
Am I overthinking, feeling paranoid?
Xu Shu licked his lips.
A few minutes later, to be on the safe side, he decided to ask.
Ask who?
Of course, the only other person involved in this matter, Yu Mingluan.
"Archbishop! There’s sothing I want to ask you. Is there anything you need to tell ?"
At 2:30 AM, Xu Shu disturbed the Archbishop again to verify sothing.
After a while, the other party replied with a word.
"Hm?" ──Yu Mingluan.
"I an, do you think I omitted reporting anything to you?" ──Gu Pan.
Xu Shu quickly composed himself and asked carefully.
"I find it difficult to answer your question; perhaps you should ask soone else, say, Xu Shu." ──Yu Mingluan.
Ask Xu Shu? Am I not Xu Shu?
Xu Shu was montarily stunned, then could only laugh wryly.
It indeed was sowhat funny; his bizarre question was nearly no different from "Guess what I am going to say next."
But this was no ti for jokes. Xu Shu ticulously reviewed his question and asked again: "I feel like I missed sothing. Bishop, besides the Black Zhen School, did I ntion anything else to you that day?"
After a few minutes, Yu Mingluan seed to ponder seriously and answered, "No."
"Got it, then I can rest easy." Xu Shu sighed in relief.
"Right, I’m going to continue tracking down the Divine Chosen; there’s not much ti left. Do you have anything else to tell ?" Yu Mingluan sent another ssage.
Not much ti left? Xu Shu paused.
Was the bishop getting busy, hinting for not to disturb him anymore?
Seems like I’ve really interacted with him a bit too much today...
Only soone like Yu Mingluan could handle it; anyone else would have faced consequences from their superiors.
Xu Shu silently apologized, knowing Yu Mingluan was busy and didn’t dare disturb him further. After thinking for a mont, he sent, "Nothing else."
"By the way, I have sothing to show you," Yu Mingluan added.
[Hint: Your friend Yu Mingluan has sent you a photo.]
Xu Shu clicked to open it. The photo depicted a freshly destroyed ruin, clearly not in a safe area but elsewhere.
On the ground, there were ruins everywhere, with many bodies torn apart, as if sothing had shredded them. They had one thing in common: regardless of gender, their muscles were very developed.
Nurous individuals in black priest robes and Judgent Departnt black and white uniforms were cleaning up the battlefield.
A middle-aged priest in red clothes walked to the edge of the battlefield, his hair neatly combed, looking straight into the cara.
It was Yu Mingluan.
He didn’t seem very accustod to taking photos, so his expression was quite serious.
What is this? Bishop, have you been told that staring too intensely at the cara during a selfie can make your eyes look a bit cockeyed and slack?
Xu Shu teased internally, ready to respond, when another ssage ca through.
"Jiang Tiansheng and Pei Yuyan are dead, Cao Gang annihilated." Yu Mingluan.
Cao Gang annihilated...
Xu Shu was speechless for a long while.
Just recently, the bishop had reassured him that he wouldn’t let any of the Cao Gang survivors escape.
He really kept his word, wiping out the Cao Gang entirely.
And it had been less than five hours!
"Anything else you need to tell ?" Yu Mingluan asked again.
Xu Shu responded with a smile, "Archbishop rocks! May the Lord always bless you!"
"Alright." ──Yu Mingluan ended the conversation with that.
Xu Shu stared at the photo, depicting a scene that seed scorched by gunfire, feeling sowhat stirred.
When will I be able to casually take down Human List’s associates like that?
Looking out the window at the still-blockaded Cao Gang "headquarters," Xu Shu chuckled softly and stopped surveilling.
The real headquarters had been taken down, with only so fringe mbers left, re errand runners. There was no need to keep watching.
With only two more days left, the Divine Chosen were likely to launch a large-scale attack in the safe area, and many would surely suffer. They dared to make a move, surely having so confidence to confront the Astronomy Association for a while.
