For a mont, all ten people present had their eyes darting around restlessly; this was quite an unusual "battlefield of gazes".

Gu Pan, however, seed oblivious to the subtle actions of her teammates, both new and old. She was very focused, and once again explained the plan for everyone to explore the depths of the church together.

"Does everyone understand?" Gu Pan glanced around the group. Once everyone nodded, she led by example, signing her na, dripping blood on the parchnt — the covenant mainly relied on "blood", so whether the na signed was real or not didn’t matter.

With her leading, the others also hastily spilled blood, followed by chanting incantations and swearing oaths, mostly pledging that traitors would be struck by lightning, or similar curses. Finally ca the blood covenant imprint entering their bodies.

Everything went very smoothly; the contract was complete and ford a closed loop.

Fortunately, during the stage of the blood covenant imprint and filling the peculiar light sphere, Xu Shu once again passed the burden to the rmaid.

It’s not that Xu Shu was narrow-minded, but rather that the blood-glow sphere was uncooperative, just like before, unable to integrate his blood tissue.

Gu Pan smiled broadly: "Well, the alliance is ford; now everyone must work together, be considerate of each other! Let’s go, there’s no ti to waste, let’s enter the church."

Upon hearing these sowhat familiar words, Lu Bingwei, Xie Xiaochan, and Gu Yue Ming’s smiles faded slightly, recalling so not-so-good mories.

The group quickly set out and soon arrived at a side door on the right side of the church.

It was a bronze door carved with deep sea tentacles, in front of a long, ancient corridor spanning several ters.

They filed in one after another, the scraping sound of shoes against frosted tal steps made one’s teeth ache, and pale moonlight seeped through the cracks above, casting web-like shadows through the rusty pipes.

This image was eerie no matter how one looked at it, especially combined with the oppressive atmosphere outside, which added psychological pressure on everyone.

Transcendents are also human; facing unknown entities evokes fear and tension, an innate human instinct.

Especially when confronting such evidently terrifying existences and objects.

Psychologists who once conducted large-scale sample surveys concluded that this sense of tension persists throughout the exploration until the adversary shows its true form and claws.

Back then, for the majority of ordinary people worldwide, this was a sign of the finale — death and madness were the only outcos.

But for Transcendents, this actually cos as a relief — the enemy has shown its health bar, now it’s ti to test whose skills are genuine.

Faced with these highly terrifying and bizarre entities, Transcendents have the power to battle, thanks to the Cursing Seal Cultivation thod, offering confidence to everyone.

"But why aren’t we using the front entrance?" Xu Shu asked with so disgust and hesitation upon seeing black goo with a salty odor seeping from the tal door’s seams.

"There are several entry keys to the church; the key I’m carrying corresponds to this entrance."

Gu Pan fell back a few steps, deliberately walking alongside Xu Shu, using a cold tone: "Actually, it’s your fault; we could have used the front entrance, entering from within the church would’ve reduced so embarrassnt during the entrance process.

"Why bla ?" Xu Shu frowned.

Gu Pan replied matter-of-factly: "You killed the guide."

"Guide?" Xu Shu paused and asked, "Those guys claiming to seek Divine’s Left Hand?"

"Yes. According to so secret information, if you accepted their invitation without a key, they’d lead you to a monster den to attack you, whereas if you had a key, they’d help deal with the corrosive goo at the entrance.

"It’s like the goo is their guidance reward, but must follow so local rules before they can consu it."

"Consu?" Xu Shu raised his brow.

"Yes, the intelligence reported they consu, though specifics I’m unaware of, as I didn’t get the chance to witness it before you killed them.

"In exchange, they’d not only open the way but also give sothing extra; perhaps useful only to second-tier Transcendents."

"Explain it clearly, teacher."

"It’s worthless."

"How did you know all this?"

"I did my howork."

"Oh... but you were part of killing them too, can’t bla it all on ." Xu Shu nodded, suddenly protesting.

"Enough, stand back slightly."

Gu Pan didn’t engage, but instead reached into her pocket.

Ka-chunk~

A soft sound, she pulled out a huge silver key, as thick as a baby’s forearm!

Before Xu Shu could continue questioning, Gu Pan began to study the entrance.

This studying took ten minutes.

After a long silence, Xu Shu asked: "You haven’t learned how to use it, have you?"

"Stop babbling, learning takes ti doesn’t it?"

Gu Pan felt slightly annoyed.

Just as she was about to go for it regardless, Lu Bingwei suddenly said from behind: "Let do it."

"You?" Gu Pan hesitated slightly, glancing at Lu Bingwei, then subconsciously looked at Xu Shu.

"Can you?" Xu Shu asked.

"Yes."

"Alright." Xu Shu nodded.

Seeing this, Gu Pan stepped aside.

Lu Bingwei stepped forward, casually took the key without any physical contact with "Jun Moxiao".

She then ascended the steps, an aura erged around her, pushing away the sticky black goo near the door.

In an instant, the goo squird, like it’s not really liquid but so animal flesh and blood.

After the wave-like tremors spread, the door lock was revealed, a dark round tal hole exposed.

Seeing this, Lu Bingwei grabbed the massive key and plunged it into the keyhole, inserting it fully, then swiftly retreated.

Hiss!

Almost instantly, the dispersed goo seed to co alive, rushing towards her together.
