Damon Hawke sipped his tea leisurely, giving Rhun Quinn a look.
Rhun Quinn understood and tossed a folder in front of Jas Lee.
Jas Lee opened the folder and his face changed drastically at the intimate photos of him and Julian Grant inside.
"Damon Hawke, where did these photos co from? How do you have them?"
All these private photos were on Gavin Miles’s computer.
Gavin docunted the whole process of their relationship, often taking pictures.
How did Damon Hawke get them?
No, the real question is, how did Damon Hawke know about his relationship with Gavin Miles?
"Jas Lee, if you want no one to know, never do it in the first place."
Damon Hawke put down his teacup, his gaze gradually becoming sharp. "If you don’t want your affair with Gavin Miles to beco public, if you don’t want to ruin Gavin, you better tell the truth about Lina Quinn’s death. Who ordered you to have Jack Clarke run Lina over? Was it Gabriel Miles?"
Jas Lee’s face turned ashen.
He tore up the folder, his chest heaving with rage.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about. Jack was drunk when he hit Lina Quinn, it had nothing to do with anyone else. Mr. Hawke, you’re invading privacy, I could sue you!"
Still resisting!
He won’t shed a tear until he sees a coffin.
Damon Hawke chuckled coldly, "You can do as you please about suing . But Jas Lee, I’m giving you only one chance. If that’s all you have to say, fine, but don’t bla for what’s next. Rhun Quinn, contact the major dia outlets imdiately. I’m sure the news will be of great interest."
"Understood."
Rhun Quinn acknowledged, taking out his phone to make a call.
"Wait."
Sweat began to bead on Jas Lee’s forehead.
He looked at Damon Hawke, speaking with difficulty, "Give a mont to think."
Damon Hawke’s lips curled into a cold smile, "Fine, I’ll give you two more minutes, don’t disappoint again."
It seed the relationship between Jas Lee and Gavin Miles wasn’t known to others.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so anxious.
With this information in his hands, Damon was sure he could pry open Jas Lee’s mouth.
"Ten seconds left."
Damon Hawke glanced at his watch, speaking calmly.
Jas Lee’s face was pale, his eyes lowered, lost in thought.
"Ti’s up, Jas Lee, you may speak now."
Damon Hawke looked at Jas Lee.
Jas Lee slowly raised his head, eyes slightly red.
"Mr. Hawke, if I tell you, will you keep it secret?"
"As long as you tell the truth, I promise to keep it to myself," Damon Hawke replied calmly.
Jas Lee nodded, "Alright, I will tell you the truth, but can I make a call first?"
He wanted to make a call?
Damon Hawke squinted, his eyes narrowing in scrutiny.
Jas Lee forced a faint smile, "Rest assured, Mr. Hawke, with such leverage over , what do you think I can do? I just want to call Julian to remind him not to forget his dication."
Hearing this, Damon Hawke nodded, "Go ahead."
Jas Lee slowly picked up his phone, dialing Julian Grant’s number, his eyes reddening further.
The call was picked up after two rings.
Jas Lee managed a smile, his expression softening.
"Julian, what are you up to?"
"Reviewing so materials."
"Have you taken your dication today?"
"Yes, I have."
Simple question and answer, nothing unusual.
Jas Lee sighed, switching gears in the conversation.
"Julian, it’s hard to believe, in the blink of an eye, we’ve known each other for over twenty years. You brought color to my dull life. I could say I watched you grow up. I still rember when you were born, so tiny, crying softly, and it just lted my heart..."
Jas Lee rambled on about his past with Julian Grant.
Damon Hawke narrowed his dark eyes, sensing an inexplicable feeling of farewell between Jas Lee and Julian.
Farewell?
Was it because Jas knew he was guilty and was ready to face imprisonnt?
"Julian, if I can’t be with you in the future, live well for . I want to see you live safely and healthily."
Jas Lee finished his call with those words, then hung up and turned off his phone.
Damon Hawke watched his actions and asked, "Are you done? Can you speak now?"
Jas Lee exhaled slowly and said, word by word, "Mr. Hawke, I admit, I instructed Jack Clarke to hit Lina Quinn, but it was my personal decision, no one ordered ."
He admitted it!
But he said no one ordered him?
Damon Hawke looked at Jas Lee intently, his deep eyes seemingly trying to see through him.
"Why instruct Jack Clarke to hit Lina Quinn? Did you have a grudge against her, or are you covering for soone?"
How could he believe that instructing Jack was his personal decision?
Was he protecting soone?
"There was no grudge between us. She found out what I did to Julian and could have ruined my life with her words," Jas Lee said blandly, avoiding Damon’s gaze. "At that ti, Julian was still young, and I feared Lina ruining my life with her words, so I orchestrated an accident. By coincidence, Jack’s daughter needed surgery money, so I approached him, offered a large sum, and had him pretend to drunk-drive and kill Lina Quinn. Jack did as told, Lina died, and my secret was buried."
A reasonable explanation.
Damon Hawke looked at Jas Lee, unable to tell if he was speaking the truth.
But at least he admitted his cri.
"Jas Lee, I’m giving you a chance, turn yourself in to the police."
Upon hearing this, Jas Lee finally looked at him.
"Mr. Hawke, I’ll end it myself, just promise not to reveal anything about and Julian, don’t ruin him."
Finishing, he suddenly stood up and rushed towards the wall.
The sound of impact was so intense that Damon Hawke was taken aback.
Jas Lee committed suicide by bashing his head against the wall!
He actually committed suicide!
Sothing flickered in Damon Hawke’s dark eyes as he slowly stood up, walking towards the convulsing man on the ground.
"Jas Lee, why?"
Why commit suicide?
Blood covered Jas Lee’s face, and he stared at Damon Hawke, slowly raising a hand to grab Damon’s pant leg tightly.
"Mr. Hawke, a dying man’s words are kind. I beg you, keep your promise and don’t hurt Julian, he’s just a pitiful child."
That pitiful child, unloved by both parents, only he took care of him.
He was intersex, and Jas was the one who bent him, ruined his life.
He really wanted to cherish him for a lifeti.
But he had to leave.
A bit of regret, he thought they’d have a few more decades together!
Jas Lee gasped heavily, his pupils slowly dilating.
Damon Hawke lowered his gaze, fixedly watching Jas Lee breathe his last, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.
For that old man, he truly had deep feelings for Gavin Miles.
The last call was to Gavin Miles, and even at death he thought of him.
Not a word about his wife and children.
So sad, so lantable.
"Rhun Quinn, you recorded everything he said, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Hawke," Rhun replied from the side.
"Alright, hand it over to the police."
He would keep his promise and not reveal his and Gavin Miles’s affair.
But if others learn about it, that’s not his concern.
