"Anything else? Troy Don, you’d better reveal all the truth without hiding anything."
Damon Hawke patted Elara Don’s hand and spoke into the phone.
"Mr. Hawke, I swear, I’ve disclosed everything I know, there’s absolutely no concealnt."
Troy Don hurriedly declared.
Damon Hawke’s dark eyes narrowed as he looked at Elara Don, whose eyes were slightly red, and asked another question.
"How do you know Elly isn’t your daughter? Wasn’t Elly’s mother’s death orchestrated by you to promote Isabella Wolf and her daughter?"
"Oh, Mr. Hawke, I’m innocent!"
Troy Don anxiously said, "When Claire married , I knew she was pregnant. But she was beautiful and cultured. I was just a poor kid back then; I married her because I genuinely liked her. But later..."
"And then what?" Damon Hawke asked.
"Afterward, she provided the funds for to start an architectural firm. In just two years, I went from being a poor kid to a wealthy man."
Troy Don sighed, "Money leads to arrogance. During that ti, I t Vivi’s mother, Isabella Wolf. She was our company’s accountant, beautiful and adept at socializing."
"I was quickly drawn to her and had an affair with her. But I still liked Claire; I really never thought of harming her or making Isabella Wolf and her daughter the priority."
Speaking with genuine emotion.
Damon Hawke listened attentively, lost in thought.
Elara Don listened intently too.
The mory of her mother’s smiling face surfaced, and tears involuntarily rolled down her cheeks.
She wiped her tears and hesitantly asked, "Mr. Don, since you knew my mother was pregnant when she married you, do you know who my father is?"
What really happened to my mother back then?
Why marry Troy Don while pregnant?
Could her death be the result of an enemy’s actions?
"I don’t know that. Claire set three rules before I proposed. First, I must not inquire about the child’s father. Second, I must treat the child as my own in the future."
Troy Don answered honestly.
Elara Don glanced at Damon Hawke, feeling overwheld and unable to organize her thoughts.
All they know now is that her mother’s car accident wasn’t accidental, but there are no leads on who might have killed her.
How can they uncover the truth from back then?
"Troy Don, what’s the na of the driver? Where is he now?"
Damon Hawke’s dark eyes were deep as he inquired.
"The driver’s na is Jack Clarke. I don’t know where he is now. I only know he was sentenced to eight years due to a good attitude in admitting guilt."
Troy Don responded.
"What was Elly’s mother doing before? Did she have any enemies?"
"Claire was a senior clerk in a company before. She was very gentle, never saw her in conflict with anyone."
Listening to Troy Don’s replies, Damon Hawke looked fixedly ahead.
He had asked enough; now, it seed the only breakthrough was the driver.
If the accident wasn’t coincidental, then the driver either had a grudge against Lina Quinn or was following soone’s orders.
Which one it is can only be known through investigation.
"Dad, who are you on the phone with?"
A woman’s voice faintly ca through the line.
Then, Troy Don called out, "Vivi, I’m on the phone with Mr. Hawke."
After so rustling sounds, Victoria Don’s urgent voice ca through the line.
"Mr. Hawke, I’m Victoria Don. I know I was wrong. Please forgive and don’t blacklist anymore."
Damon Hawke’s eyes hardened, and his voice took on a chilling tone.
"Forgive you? Victoria Don, you’re dreaming!"
He had been lenient with her!
If it weren’t for her bringing at least one child to his side, he would have made her suffer a hundred tis more!
Damon Hawke abruptly cut off the call.
On the other side, Victoria Don continued to shout "hello," but the only response was the dial tone.
Victoria Don’s face twisted with anger.
"Elara Don, Damon Hawke, do you really want to drive to death? No, I won’t let this end like this!"
Here.
Damon Hawke reached out to wipe the tears from the corners of Elara Don’s eyes and pulled her into his embrace.
"Elly, don’t be sad or anxious. I’ll definitely help you uncover the truth."
The man’s chest was broad and warm, making Elara Don’s nose tingle again.
She pressed down her emotions, straightened up to look at Damon Hawke.
"Tom, the driver is problematic. We must find him first."
"Mm, I know. I’ll have soone find out his whereabouts imdiately."
Damon Hawke’s brows were stern as he took out his phone to call Rhun Quinn.
Elara Don pressed her lips together, looking at the man’s calm and composed deanor, slightly soothing her troubled mind.
At this mont, with him here, she felt secure.
After Damon Hawke gave orders to Rhun Quinn, he hung up the phone.
Turning around, he saw Elara Don looking at him with a gentle and peaceful expression.
Damon Hawke’s eyes slightly moved, and he reached out to hold Elara Don’s shoulders.
"Elly, you’re the most important person to . Promise , from now on, don’t push away."
He felt the change in Elara Don’s emotions toward him.
So at this mont, he wanted to strike while the iron was hot and make her stop resisting him.
Elara Don pressed her lips together and remained silent.
She rely reached out to help straighten his clothes.
After a while, she said, "You’re stuck to like glue; even if I wanted to push you away, I couldn’t."
Damon Hawke: "..."
She compared him to a piece of sticky glue.
Alright, as long as she didn’t push him away anymore, he didn’t mind how she described him.
Damon Hawke felt content, his gaze slowly falling on her rosy lips, his throat slightly rolling.
Since she couldn’t push him away, he didn’t mind flipping the script and ’pushing’ her down.
Damon Hawke slowly leaned his head...
Ding-dong!
The doorbell rang.
Damon Hawke paused, his brows furrowed.
Who was disturbing their private world so late?
"I’ll get the door."
Elara Don’s face ward as she pushed Damon Hawke away and quickly ran to open the door.
The door opened, and standing outside were Leia Quinn and Craig Landers.
Elara Don’s eyes flashed with surprise.
"Kiki, Mr. Landers, why are you two together?"
Why were they appearing here together?
Oh right, Leia Quinn is currently Craig Landers’ girlfriend, so naturally, they would appear together.
"Elly, let us in first before speaking."
Leia Quinn lightly coughed, a hint of unease crossing her face.
"Elly, is Damon here?"
Craig Landers spoke with a smile, leaning forward to peek inside.
Damon Hawke, hands in pockets, leisurely walked to the door, casting a cool glance at Craig Landers.
"So late at night, why aren’t you at ho sleeping? What are you doing running around?"
He’s interrupting his stolen monts of tenderness.
He wants to cut ties with this friend!
"Mr. Hawke, we’re here to see Charlie and Bea."
Leia Quinn stood in front of Craig Landers, speaking.
Elara Don blinked, observing Leia Quinn’s deanor, her eyes lighting up.
She was all too familiar with her best friend’s little gestures.
This was defending Craig Landers!
It seed their relationship had progressed quickly!
