Upon hearing Elara Don’s words, Damon Hawke’s expression froze, sowhat surprised.
"You want to see Charlie?"
He hadn’t expected her to ask about Charlie.
"Yes, is that alright?"
Elara Don probed.
"Sure."
Damon Hawke nodded, "Coincidentally, because you refuse to marry , he’s been giving a hard ti. So, when you et him, even if you just humor him a bit, it’ll make him happier."
After all, she would eventually marry him.
Having her temporarily humor his son wasn’t really deceiving him.
The boy would be happy too.
It was a win-win.
Humor Charlie?
Once she saw him in person, everything would be clear!
If he was truly her son, she wouldn’t have to humor him!
She was his mommy!
If the little guy found out about this, he’d definitely be thrilled.
Elara Don muttered silently to herself, looking at the handso man in front of her, her gaze falling on his chest, hesitating to speak.
Could it be as she thought?
Was this man truly the biological father of her child?
"Charlotte, last night..."
"About Isabella Wolf’s matter..."
Elara Don didn’t want to bring up last night’s events and quickly interrupted him to inquire.
Damon Hawke paused, "I’m not soone who breaks promises, the lawyer is already handling it, and I believe she can be bailed out in the next couple of days."
That’s good.
She couldn’t be threatened by anyone.
No matter if the man before her was her child’s biological father or not, she wasn’t going to let anyone take her child away from her!
"I have work outside, so I’ll go get busy now."
After saying that, Elara Don turned and left.
Damon Hawke watched her back, lost in thought.
She didn’t want him to bring up yesterday’s events?
Was she feeling embarrassed?
So scenes flashed through his mind, and his long fingers touched his thin lips as a smile flashed through his eyes.
Outside.
Elara Don was a bit distracted the entire morning.
During lunch, she ran into Cole Hawke, who had just returned from a business trip.
After they exchanged greetings and chatted for a bit, Cole Hawke asked, "Elly, you don’t look well, did sothing happen?"
"Nothing."
Elara Don smiled and buried herself in her lunch.
Cole Hawke looked at her, patiently coaxing, "Elly, I’ve told you, you can consider as a big brother, you can talk to about anything, I might be able to give you so advice. Sotis, an outsider’s perspective is clear, isn’t it?"
Hearing this, Elara Don paused, looked up at him.
Cole Hawke’s face was full of sincerity, his eyes full of encouragent.
At this mont, Elara Don felt extrely uneasy inside.
She really wanted to find soone to confide in.
And she had previously talked to Cole Hawke about her child’s father.
In this situation, she wanted to hear his opinion.
So she hesitated for a mont, unable to resist spilling her heart out.
"Big Brother Arthur, I’ve suddenly discovered sothing, perhaps Charlie is my other biological son."
Cole Hawke: "..."
What on earth had happened in the few days he was on business trip!
Why would Elara Don have such a revelation!
Cole Hawke’s expression was shocked, suppressing his emotions and asking, "Do you an to say that my uncle is the man from four years ago? But hadn’t you already found the biological father of the child before?"
"Yes, I had indeed found the biological father of the child before. But just yesterday, I suddenly realized that the man I thought it was, and Damon Hawke, might be the sa person."
Elara Don gathered her thoughts, "Actually, I’ve always had doubts in my heart, why there’s so many similarities between Damon Hawke and the man I thought was my child’s biological father."
"Aside from that face, their aura is similar, their body build is similar, even the plum blossom birthmark on the chest is the sa. So, I wondered, could these two people be the sa person? If so, then Charlie is my biological son!"
Elara Don hesitated, looking at Cole Hawke’s steady gaze, suddenly thinking of sothing.
"Big Brother Arthur, you’ve seen Charlie right? Then you should know what he looks like, right? Look at this photo, this is a photo of my son, don’t they look exactly the sa!"
Right!
Cole Hawke is part of the Hawthorne!
He must have seen what Dominic Hawke looks like.
As long as she asked him, wouldn’t the truth co to light?
Elara Don, full of excitent, pulled out a photo of the little guy and handed it over to Cole Hawke.
Inside Cole Hawke, a storm was already raging.
He tried his best to stay calm, struggling to digest what Elara Don had said.
The little one in the photo looked exactly like Dominic Hawke.
Of course he knew, Dominic Hawke was definitely her other son.
But...
"Elly, I think you’re mistaken. My uncle shouldn’t be your child’s biological father, and Charlie doesn’t look like your son either."
Cole Hawke returned Elara Don’s phone to her, then took out his own phone, pulling up a photo.
"Look, this is a picture of Charlie, does he look like your son?"
This was a photo of Madam Hawke holding a child.
The child in the picture was, of course, not Dominic Hawke, but a younger generation born from Madam Hawke’s family side.
At the critical mont, Cole Hawke ca up with this tactic, intending to bluff Elara Don.
Elara Don stared at the little one in the photo, unconsciously gripping her phone tightly, her eyes full of obvious disappointnt.
"Is this Charlie?"
Was this how the little guy looked under the mask?
She had overthought it!
Was it because her subconscious wanted the clinging child to be her biological son that these thoughts arose?
Turns out it was all her own wishful thinking.
Damon Hawke was never the man from that night.
Elara Don felt indescribable inside.
Disappointnt, hurt, regret...
"Elly, are you alright?"
Cole Hawke saw Elara Don’s eyes turn slightly red, asking with concern.
Elara Don sniffed, took a deep breath, and returned the phone to him.
"I’m fine, it was just overthinking."
That was good too.
The biological father of her child was still a thug.
It ant she didn’t have to worry about her child being taken away by a thug!
"Arthur, you’re back from your business trip."
Overhead ca the magnetic voice of a man. The two looked up to see Damon Hawke approaching them.
Cole Hawke’s expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure.
"Yes, I was planning to report to you after lunch."
"Hmm."
Damon Hawke pushed his lunch tray aside, making his intention clear.
He could leave.
Not to disturb him and her from having lunch.
Cole Hawke glanced at Elara Don, hesitated, then smiled and stood up.
"Elly, Damon, I’m full, I’ll be going first, enjoy your al."
It seed Elara Don had dismissed her doubts and wouldn’t reveal the truth to Damon Hawke.
Watching Cole Hawke sensibly leave, Damon Hawke contently sat down in his seat.
He looked at Elara Don, noticing her gloomy appearance, raised his brows, "What were you two talking about just now?"
Why did she look so unhappy?
