“I found out,” Zoe Silverstone said.
Wendy Clarke’s face suddenly darkened, “You investigated us?”
Christy Xenos abruptly changed her expression and hurriedly sided with Wendy.
How could she have overlooked this before?
She didn’t ask further and just let Zoe in.
“You actually investigated us!” Christy Xenos yelled furiously, “Get out! You are not welco in our ho!”
With that, she was about to advance and kick Zoe out.
“Mom, wait a second.” Wendy quickly stopped Christy Xenos.
She was instantly sowhat frustrated.
If only Christy could stop getting in the way and disrupting her pace.
Originally, Wendy planned to lead Zoe by the nose and seize the upper hand.
She didn’t expect Christy to pull a move like this.
From the mont Wendy actively stopped Christy, it was clear that she had already lost her control over the situation.
Wendy took a deep breath, suppressed her anger at Christy, and coldly asked Zoe, “Why did you investigate us?”
“Of course, it’s because I’ve got a score to settle with Cindy,” Zoe said.
“Because of Cindy, I’ve lost a lot of jobs,” Zoe said, “So, I went to investigate Cindy, not directly you.”
“While investigating Cindy, I found out her family was in Nork City,” Zoe continued, “She was all alone in Belford and never contacted Nork City. I figured there was sothing going on, so I ca to find out.”
“I’m the one who’s being presumptuous here, I didn’t an to intentionally investigate you. I just thought, maybe you’d want to know so things about Cindy?”
Zoe gave a small laugh, and said, “I’m sincere. You all should believe just because I have a grudge against Cindy.”
“You think Cindy and us are on bad terms?” Wendy retorted.
“To tell you the truth, yes, that’s what I thought. Since I ca with sincerity, I told you all my thoughts, without any concealnt.”
“I guessed that you all do not have a good relationship with Cindy. Cindy has been alone in Belford for five years, and if you are close, why hasn’t she ever contacted you?”
“I’m not sure if my guess is right. I ca here presumptuously to confirm my guess,” and with that, Zoe shifted her strategy, “If I guessed wrong and you don’t welco , then I’ll leave.”
With that, Zoe nodded at them and was about to leave.
“Hey, wait a minute!” Christy anxiously called for Zoe to stop.
Wendy didn’t have the chance to stop her in ti and was almost furious enough to have a falling out with Christy right there and then.
How could one even be so burdenso!
“We have no beef with Cindy,” the one who spoke up this ti was Joshua Clarke, “We’re all family, how could we hold a grudge? You guessed wrong.”
“Is that so?” Zoe looked at Joshua, then at Wendy and Christy, and she understood.
Joshua probably sincerely loves Cindy.
But not necessarily true for Christy and Wendy.
Zoe saw this, but she didn’t voice it out.
She heard Joshua ask, “Do you really know a lot about Cindy?”
“Although Cindy and I don’t get along, and she even caused to lose my job, we can be considered enemies. But there’s a saying that goes, ‘The one who knows you best is your enemy.’” Zoe said, “So, yes, I know a lot about Cindy.”
Joshua had watched the replay of the previous competition, so of course he knew about Zoe’s and Cindy’s disagreent.
But he didn’t use the internet, so he didn’t know about the conflicts between them before.
