Chapter 44: Berserk mutant demon bat

Whoosh!

The hunter retreated in an attempt to increase the distance between him and Alex but then his senses spiked as he noticed the presence of soone behind him making him frown.

It was a man in so sort of white armor and a bright blue laser blade in his hand.

“THIS!” the man muttered as he gripped his fluttering cloak which suddenly hardened like a steel plate as the laser blade struck!

Slash!

With eyes wide open due to a mixture of shock and pain, the man watched as Silver’s blade cut through his beast gear cloak, decapitating his left hand along the way!

“Impossible!” The man said in shock but before he could even get the chance to retaliate, Alex followed up with a punch to the face.

The hunter’s body was sent spiraling back as it smashed into the wall ahead and slid down slowly, leaving behind a trail of blood.

Huff!

Alex breathed out before turning his gaze to Silver and then the laser blade in his hands. The Ainsworth has a strange ability that other mbers of the big four are yet to understand and what is more shocking is that they create the beast gears but they also refused to use beast gears, claiming humanity can survive and even thrive without it. Seeing Silver slice a wolf-level beast gear almost effortlessly with his blade gave Alex goosebumps. If he was in a position to go against sothing like this, he will most likely end up dead.

“What I find annoying is that I cannot gauge your strength... Sotis you look weak and other tis you look strong... It’s annoying” Alex said and Silver smiled in response.

He looked like he was about to speak but then his eyes lit up with blue light and his facial expression instantly turned sour.

He took two steps back, leaving Alex wondering what could make Silver wear such a fearful look on his face. He traced Silver’s eyes to a dark corner in the room and even then he couldn’t see a thing.

Alex’s eyes narrowed as he gazed into the darkness but he couldn’t see a thing. He couldn’t help but wonder what is going on but since Silver is this terrified he dared not go and check it out!

“Take a step back slowly... We will walk out of this place... Don’t make a sound... Don’t rush... If you do, we may end up dying even before we get to know it” Silver barely whispered those words making Alex tremble.

He trusts Silver so he didn’t ask and slowly they backed away in silence. His cold gaze was pinned on that particular dark corner of the room, leaving him wondering what could scare Silver this much.

They were close to the door but then the ground began trembling and slowly a pair of red eyes appeared within the darkness.

Its cold gaze was pinned on the person who noticed its presence, Silver. Seeing this Silver froze and so did Alex. They both watched in horror as a massive six feet tall bat walked out of the shadow. Its massive, muscular figure ca with an overbearing presence, making Alex and Silver how they spent so much ti here and failed to notice this beast!

This beast lacked fur and had thick black skin with thick biceps and triceps! Its hands were wrapped around its body with its wings acting as a black robe, covering its body.

“Fuck my life!” Alex muttered.

“Mine too... There is no way in hell that that shit is a wolf-level mutant beast...” Silver muttered.

Alex slowly manipulated the energy within him to stabilize his condition. For so reason, he was too petrified to act but after using his secret technique to control his body effectively, he could feel his facial expression and heartbeats return to normalcy.

Bang!

The beast didn’t bother wasting much ti again as it lunged towards Silver. Seeing his comrade was too petrified to move Alex took a bold step forward with rage blazing in his eyes!

“Get Back!” He roared as he took a stance and focused most of his energy into his right fist!

The black bat suddenly stomped its feet on the ground and launched towards the ceiling! It kicked against the ceiling again, bouncing around the room like a ball!

Alex scread in his mind as he pushed the second form of the demon kin secret technique to the limit!

From the corner of his eyes h,e saw the black figure approach from the side and he didn’t hesitate to throw his fist at it!

Demon Kin secret technique: Kill!

Alex felt his fist smash into the creature but for the first ti in his life, he was losing in a contest of strength even when giving it his all. His face reddened as he was thrown back by the force of the enemy, slamming into the frozen Silver and dragging him along with him!

The duo smashed through the window, hitting the ground before rolling a couple of tis. Alex could feel his right hand twitch uncontrollably due to the pain. He felt a warm liquid roll down his face and a cruel smile appeared on his face as he gazed at the massive beast walking out of the broken window almost casually.

Judging from the way the beast was gazing at them it was clear it possesses so level of intelligence. That’s why it chose to attack the person with the best chance of fighting against him.

Silver!

“Hehehehe! This was not part of the plan lil Silvy but if we don’t fight we are sure to die here” Alex said as he gazed at the beast and slowly began approaching it.

Running is not an option, so all he can do now is et it head-on in battle.

Alex said as his fingertips scraped the ground and the earth began latching onto his body like a magnet pulling a piece of tal!
