Cultivating through increasing my stats in America Chapter 218 - 164 New Ways of Energy Acquisition2
At least now, it’s hard for him to receive any sponsorship fee through competitions.
Li Ang was actually quite grateful for the funds that ca like a tily help in the snow, although he made several sponsors reap profits beyond their expectations. However, the fact was that at that ti, based on market value, he truly couldn’t get that much sponsorship fee, so it was a win-win cooperation.
One could tell from the brothers getting new bikes that their family business must be doing pretty well recently.
Compared to his brother who had shifted more focus onto their family business, Little Eric was still wholeheartedly devoted to riding.
"Did you hear? A dostic Continental Team seems to have sprung up with a genius cyclist. Not only in terms of physical fitness but even on their classic third training route, he broke the all-ti fastest record. Looking at this, they may really make a breakthrough in this California race and then qualify for the Tour de France."
Eric added,
"Speaking of which, this famous third training route, my brother and I tried it when we visited there. Our completion ti was over two and a half hours back then.
It’s nearly a hundred kiloters. I can’t even imagine what sort of phenonal person could break the record and reduce the completion ti under two hours."
"I think you really should give it a try soti with your ability. Finishing within two and a half hours should be no problem for you, and who knows, if you perform exceptionally, you might be spotted by their team. Wouldn’t that shoot you straight to the top?" Little Eric said, his face full of excitent and longing.
Their friend, however, threw cold water on this:
"Getting into such a top-tier team isn’t so easy. There is a chasm between professional and amateur cyclists. Even if you beco the champion of many amateur races, the professional Continental Team wouldn’t give you a second glance."
"Li Ang might not necessarily have to pursue a career in cycling. He has talent in other sports competitions as well."
Eric, however, focused more on the comrcial value of these riders.
"How much do you think these top dostic cyclists earn from ads? Perhaps not too much, after all, fa has a Pyramid effect. Only those at the very top get the most attention while those in the middle or at the bottom might struggle to get even the leftovers.
In that case, Li Ang probably made more from the slap competition."
"The cyclist who broke the record, I think I know him."
Li Ang struggled to contain his laughter.
"Ah? You really know him? I wonder if the team kept it a secret on purpose; you can’t find any information about this new rider online."
Little Eric was so excited that he started to ride his bike a bit crookedly.
"That’s right, after the championship you won last ti, you could say you’re halfway into the pro cycling circle. You should have wider connections in this field than we do."
The guy from Falcon Club silently rolled his eyes; it’s not like stepping even half a foot into the pro circle was easy. Even the professional riders in the club only got so not-so-critical news; recognizing such a person was not so readily achievable.
"Next ti you have a chance, can you get his autograph?"
"Next ti? No need to wait for next ti. I can do it right now, if you have a marker."
Li Ang’s words left the Erick Brothers speechless.
The guy from Falcon Club also silently waited for him to finish his act.
"What do you an?" Eric was the first to ask.
"If I’m not mistaken, the new guy who joined the team should be , and incidentally, a few days ago, I also broke their record."
Li Ang replied seriously.
"Pfft!"
The friend couldn’t help but laugh.
"No worries, carry on chatting. I’ve just rembered sothing funny."
Li Ang, unconcerned, scrolled through his phone and pulled up a photo of his pass and a list of the team’s players to show them.
These photos had been taken several days ago, obviously not prepared in advance just to show off.
"Ah? Then... aren’t you supposed to be training for the California race right now? How co you’re here?"
Little Eric’s speech was sowhat incoherent. He knew that Li Ang was incredibly talented in riding and could go far if he dedicated himself to it. But he thought that after Li Ang’s last bike race, he had shifted his focus to other things and seed to have lost the passion to continue in this line of work.
Unexpectedly, Li Ang had made a big leap and joined the professional Continental Team, without so much as a glance from the top bike clubs.
"I don’t feel there’s much need for training; it’s not like it’s very free over there, so I ca back."
With that, Li Ang made an incredibly back-handed humble brag.
Even the guy trailing from Falcon Club started to find the conversation odd as he listened.
