’Just a little more.’
Akamir thought, lazily swinging his reaper in his hand.
His hand brushed his long hair as he stared at his status screen.
It’s been two months since the day he assigned the Sins their work.
During this ti, Akamir had been training with mana and chi.
The things he has learned in this ti have been good.
’A little more push and I will be blue core.’
Akamir thought, rubbing the back of his neck.
Pushing the stats aside, he looked at the two idiots huffing like animals.
"Get up." Akamir said, kicking Viros in his stomach. "How long are you going to rest?"
"Urgh, fuck you." Viros groaned, his sea-green hair bouncing around. "I don’t wanna fight."
"Co on, bitch." Akamir said, glancing at Luca who quickly looked away. "It’s the first ti I am using a reaper."
Luca gave a nervous laugh, adjusting the straps of his gloves as he stood up.
"We noticed," he said, eyeing the long, curved weapon in Akamir’s hand. "That thing’s scary."
Akamir nodded, spinning the reaper once in his grip.
During the two months, he has also been training with different weapons.
Daggers, short swords, scythe and multiple others.
In just two months, he has gotten a basic knowledge of everything.
’If I ever fight with soone with different weapons, knowing the basics will definitely help.’
He tapped the flat of the reaper against his shoulder, eyes locked on Luca and Viros.
"No!"
They both denied even before he could ask for another round.
"Tch."
Akamir clicked his tongue audibly as he put the reaper back in his space ring.
It was already ti for him to et with Velyrian.
"By the way." Viros said, glancing at him. "Are you ready for the midterm exam?"
Akamir remained still for a mont before he nodded softly. "Yeah."
It’s been more than four, almost five months since Akamir ca to this.
And...
It was finally ti to enter the Core Dungeon.
The place where Zaina’s life changed entirely.
He let out a sigh as he began to walk away.
"You guys should be ready." Akamir said, glancing at them. "Things would be pretty hard inside the dungeon."
"h, don’t worry." Luca said, shaking his head. "We are only going to enter the starting level of the dungeon."
"Wait, how many levels even are there?" Akamir asked, tilting his head.
He shrugged. "I don’t know. Humans have only conquered forty of them."
Akamir nodded as he was already numb to their talking as if they weren’t humans themselves.
"Alright, enough talking." Akamir said, walking away. "I will see you tomorrow."
"Yeah, bye."
Akamir began to walk towards the teacher’s building.
It wasn’t long before a woman began floating into his line of sight.
"A Core Dungeon has a hundred levels." Nayomi replied to his previous question. "Unlike normal dungeons, they are far harder to conquer."
"Why do you say so?" Akamir asked, glancing at her.
"They are made that way, with every level twice as hard as the previous one." She replied, her voice soft. "So even have Core caps."
Akamir frowned. "So, those above that core level can’t enter it?"
"Yeah." She replied. "So have Core caps at level fifty of only purple core, making it impossible to conquer."
"What is the Core Dungeon even about?" Akamir asked, stretching his body.
"Honestly, I don’t know." She replied, shaking her head. "But many say they correspond with seven Outer Gods."
"...I see." Akamir nodded silently. "Outer Gods, huh?"
’What are they really?’
Akamir wondered, rubbing his chin.
He wasn’t really sure what they are.
Outer beings? Normal beings holding the title of Outer Gods? Or sothing else entirely?
’Well, no point thinking too much about it.’
He shrugged as he looked around, only to find soone familiar.
A girl walking along with her friends.
"Zaina!"
He called her, making her turn around. Her ember eyes blinked in surprise.
He walked towards her and she told sothing to her friends.
The way they smiled and how Zaina blushed, it must be sothing awkward.
Akamir reached as the girl folded her hands.
"Are you still bunking classes?" She asked, looking at him.
"That’s what I am best at." Akamir replied, shrugging as he walked by her side. "What about you?"
"I was going to the library." She replied, looking at him.
"I see."
Just like how his relationship has improved with Viros and Luca, the sa happened with Zaina.
They both had spent quite so ti together, getting to know each other.
Though, his relationship with Inara is what took leaps.
The rmaid princess doesn’t hesitate to tell him anything now.
Those conversations definitely make him awkward.
’Though, the hardest part is to keep them away.’
Akamir put quite so effort into making sure Zaina and Inara don’t bump into each other when he is with either one of them.
He wasn’t really keen on any type of drama.
Zaina tilted her head slightly, eyeing him. "What are you thinking?"
"Hm? Nothing." Akamir replied, smiling at her. "How are things going with you?"
"It’s better." She replied, looking at him. "A lot better after that bitch stopped ssing with ."
By bitch, she ant Lyselle.
The daughter of the Polmona Dukedom.
After her father entered the dungeon, she has beco a lot tar.
Perhaps it was because she wasn’t really sure if her father would return.
And a little talk with forr princess Inara was also a reason.
Though, Akamir wasn’t going to tell Zaina that.
"Arthur." Zaina said, taking his attention once again. "He has been stalking ."
Akamir blinked twice. "What?"
"Yeah, it’s been a few days." She replied, letting out a sigh. "He is behaving like a creep after I started ignoring him."
"Do you want —"
"No, it’s fine." She replied, shaking her head. "I am stronger than him. He won’t be able to touch ."
Akamir looked at her for a second before nodding. "Fine... just tell if things go out of hand."
Zaina smiled. "Why, are you going to act like my fiancé and protect ?"
"Well, if you don’t want—"
"I never said that." She quickly cut in his words. "It’s like it that way..."
Zaina looked away, her cheeks a little pink. "Shut up."
"But I didn’t say anything—"
"Shut up!" She snapped before she quickly ran away from him.
Akamir blinked, staring at her departing figure in confusion.
’Is she stupid?’
He seriously began doubting her level of intelligence.
"Look after her." Nayomi said, floating beside him. "She will be in the most danger inside the dungeon."
Akamir slowly nodded his head. "I know."
The Bloodhound On will definitely attack her when she is in the dungeon.
’And no matter how strong she is, I don’t think she can survive.’
In the novel, she only survived them by getting pushed further inside the dungeon.
But...
’I am not sure the sa thing will happen here.’
Akamir let out a sigh as he reached the teacher’s building.
He walked up the spiral staircase and reached Velyrian’s office.
"Cough! Cough!"
The violent coughing greeted him as he walked inside.
And...
Velyrian sat in the wheelchair, with all his muscles gone.
