On the first floor of the Silver Tower, within the grand hall, Sasaki was in conversation with another Japanese.
anwhile, behind him, a dozen new recruits had already gathered.
Sasaki scolded with a dark expression, "A bunch of useless trash, surviving just to consu resources."
The other Japanese also remarked, "The quality of the newcors in recent months has been really poor."
"It’s all Adams’s fault; ever since he took charge, there’s been nothing good for us."
Sasaki nodded and continued to check the status of the other newcors according to the list.
To know who had not co down yet, one only needed to see whether the individual was marked as ’deceased,’ in which case there was obviously no need to wait.
"Another batch died, won’t it end up being just these thirteen?" Sasaki frowned.
Just then, Luo Yan, along with four others, stepped out from the elevator.
Sasaki glanced over and waved him over, "You survived? You have the looks of an Oiran; it would be a sha if you died."
Luo Yan had lost an arm but was still alive, which pleased Sasaki.
But upon hearing this, Luo Yan’s expression darkened, and he imdiately said, "Not only did I survive, but I also obtained a reward."
"Oh?" Sasaki instantly asked him to reveal his balance, and indeed, there were 100 points.
"Wow, getting a hundred points on your first try."
He was very satisfied, had one of his subordinates do a quick search of Luo Yan, and then let him join the ranks.
The others did the sa, surprisingly, this batch all obtained rewards, genuinely surviving on their own rit.
"Were you all in the sa ga?" Sasaki collected five hundred points.
Luo Yan reluctantly nodded, "Yes, we collaborated and at the last mont, locked the radiation in a secret chamber and took the chance to escape..."
Sasaki, now holding an atonent voucher, didn’t care for the details but comnded, "Finally, soone managed to bring out an atonent voucher, not bad for a technical school graduate."
Luo Yan rejoined the ranks and looked around the crowd, not finding Gao Xin, which made him sowhat anxious.
They waited approximately fifteen minutes, and suddenly, a lift door opened with a whoosh.
Gao Xin, Su Lei, Liu Xu, and a total of eight individuals walked out from the elevator.
Sasaki glanced over, then was taken aback.
Leading the way, Gao Xin held a giant axe and strode forward, dressed casually as if a free player.
Following him, seven players, all wearing worn and tattered clothes, Su Lei even carrying a large bag full of packaged food and drinks.
"Eh?" Sasaki was surprised; he had not had much hope for this batch of newcors, yet Gao Xin had erged directly carrying a chanical battle axe.
Looks like they had a significant gain?
He went up to them, grabbed the axe, knocked on it a few tis, and felt the blade.
The Japanese man beside him comnted, "I’ve seen this kind of battle axe before, 1000 points."
"How many atonent vouchers? Go announce it." Sasaki prodded his chin.
Gao Xin very conscientiously went up to announce his balance while also letting others search him.
Su Lei and ii did likewise, though Liu Xu and the others didn’t, as she wasn’t a newcor.
"Beast Fang sir, these few are in our team," a muscular man approached and bowed.
"Scram." Sasaki waved his hand away.
The muscular man complied with a response and led Liu Xu and the other four from the atonent group away; Gao Xin concluded that this muscular man must be the so-called Brother Joe.
After walking a distance, Liu Xu whispered sothing to Brother Joe.
Brother Joe turned his head, locking eyes with Gao Xin.
Gao Xin made no reaction, rely watching them walk away.
Before coming down, there was rare free ti, and he asked all he needed to, arranged everything that was to be arranged.
Going forward, it was about striving to beco a mber of the atonent group, which should be easy given his current ability.
"Not a single atonent voucher?" After the search, Sasaki expressed his dissatisfaction.
Gao Xin showed a helpless expression, "We survived by begging for rcy from the radiation. When he erged, he took all the survival rewards."
"This axe, we only picked it up from a dead bearded man in a hidden area after the old cat left."
Sasaki frowned, "What old cat?"
Several people stuttered through the ga narrative, which they had already prepared beforehand.
Gao Xin easily spun a tale about manoeuvring with radiation in the underground hidden area, where the big bearded man died in a trap, unknown to the old cat, allowing them to opportunistically pick up an axe.
"Not bad, managing even to use a trap to kill a radiation."
"Good, although there are no atonent vouchers, getting spoils of war is still sowhat useful."
Sasaki weighted the battle axe in his hands.
This thing is worth a thousand points, isn’t it more valuable than what the newcors have brought out?
Of those who survived, Gao Xin was the only one who hadn’t treated his injuries, still displaying all manner of scratches, bruises, and even noticeable bruising around his ankle, clearly having been through a rough ti.
Sasaki didn’t think too much of it; glass people only need 1 point of an atonent voucher to heal such injuries, and since Gao Xin hadn’t treated his wounds, that ans he didn’t even have 1 point, implying that he spent all his rewards just to live... what else could it be?
"Rejoin the ranks."
Gao Xin and the others stood next to Luo Yan, who whispered, "Lucky for you, not dying is enough."
"How much did you give?" Gao Xin asked him.
Luo Yan answered bitterly, "One hundred."
Gao Xin looked at Luo Yan with surprise, his gaze seeming to say: Are you really that honest?
Luo Yan looked resentfully at Gao Xin, his gaze seeming to say: I had no choice...
Gao Xin understood; Luo Yan had the deanor of an Oiran, so even if he wanted to hide the rewards, he had to consider whether he would be sent to be an Oiran...
