98, Being Lazy (4 more)

“`

As for cooking for the noble young master across the door, Xie Zhinuan had Aunt Chen do it; she slumped in her chair, feeling weak all over and too languid to move.

This was her first ti experiencing her period.

Aunt Chen knew that Xie Zhinuan was usually lively and cheerful, always full of energy, so to see her this languid was a first.

She understood that girls have a few difficult days each month, so she took on the tasks herself and even made Xie Zhinuan so brown sugar water.

“Feeling any better?” Aunt Chen asked with concern.

“It’s the sa as before, just waiting for a few days to pass and it’ll be fine!”

It was her first ti transitioning from girlhood to womanhood, a process during which the body would feel discomfort and her temper might be a bit irritable, but she could endure it.

However, when Li Hengyi took his chopsticks and tasted the first bite, his brows slightly furrowed, “Today’s al…”

Was not made by that Miss Xie.

Although it was not inedible, it lacked the certain taste of Xie Zhinuan’s cooking.

“Master, Miss Xie hasn’t been feeling well these past few days and didn’t feel like moving!”

“?” Li Hengyi frowned, “What’s wrong?”

He asked casually, picking at the food and eating slowly, but after a few bites, he put down his chopsticks.

He simply drank the soup instead.

The simred soup was good, with a rich flavor that also comforted his stomach. Even if he was dissatisfied, he couldn’t make Yuanbao go over and force the young lady to cook for him.

Yuanbao, while eating, felt there wasn’t much difference.

The als cooked by Aunt Chen were also very tasty.

At least for them, it wasn’t about the food itself but the sentint behind it.

He had improved his Inner Strength by more than one level anyway since before.

Those guards, spending Silver to drink a few bowls of broth, what they were really after was clear to all. With Xie Zhinuan sick, having Aunt Chen and the fool girl cook was all the sa.

“Master, shall we ask Miss Xie to cook so supper for you tonight?” Yuanbao asked.

“No need, take the dried lychees from Lingnan to her and so Bird’s Nest as well, tell her to stew it for herself to eat!” Li Hengyi said gravely.

Yuanbao hastily complied, hurrying to the storeroom to fetch Bird’s Nest and dried lychees for Xie Zhinuan.

When Xie Zhinuan learned that Yuanbao had co, she didn’t move, letting the fool girl take the items inside.

“Miss, the young master from across the way had Yuanbao bring over so dried lychees and Bird’s Nest for you!” the fool girl said happily.

“?” Xie Zhinuan raised her eyebrows, “Oh, then soak a few cups and stew them tomorrow!”

“Yes!” The fool girl went to soak the Bird’s Nest with joy.

She wanted to eat so too, so she soaked an extra cup for herself.

Seeing this, Aunt Chen tapped her on the head, “Nonsense!”

“Hehe!” The fool girl giggled and left the kitchen.

Aunt Chen busied herself in the kitchen, washing pots and brushing dishes with ticulous care. When she stepped out of the kitchen toward Xie Zhinuan’s room, she saw her reclined on the bed, fanning herself lazily with a fan, her brows tightly furrowed, a sign of her discomfort.

Xie Zhinuan dozed off on the bed in a daze, and Routuan jumped up, tugging the thin blanket over her with his mouth.

In her semi-conscious state, Xie Zhinuan reached out to hug Routuan to her chest, patting the dog’s head, “Sleep!”

She didn’t feel like moving and hence didn’t go to sleep on the bed inside.

Her hands and feet were a bit cold; holding Routuan was just right. Warm and clean, Xie Zhinuan pushed him a bit, “Routuan, warm my feet for !”

Routuan looked up, drowsily crawled towards Xie Zhinuan’s feet, and pressed them under his belly.

With warm feet, she slept a bit more soundly.

In her dreams, Xie Zhinuan dread that Dahuang took her and Routuan on a carefree and joyful journey around the world, her lips curling into a smile that was faint and ethereal, yet brimming with happiness.
