"Shadow Transposition!"
Suddenly, Julia’s figure vanished from in front of Drake and she appeared right behind him.
Julia’s eyes shone with brutality and her short sword pierced straight for his back as she shouted.
"Die!"
The Stars swirled within Drake’s pupils and the world seed to move at a slow speed, as Drake’s head turned slowly.
Julia’s figure was caught within the ’Eyes of Order’.
Drake’s figure moved and his arm twisted into a backwards slash and for the first ti since this battle began their weapons clashed
DANG!
Drake was sent lying after the collision against a 3 star mage.
Julia saw her chance and charged at him, not giving Drake any room to recover.
She stuck to him like a haunting ghost and just as Drake’s feet touched the ground she slashed her sword at him.
Drake also slashed his saber at her. However, her figure once again vanished.
"Shadow Transposition!"
The ’Eyes of Order’ imdiately locked onto a certain position and Drake swung his saber in that direction
Julia once again appeared. Only this ti she was just behind Drake’s right side and pieced with her short sword.
However, just as she pierced forward, she realized Drake’s saber was slashing at her
DANG!
Drake’s short saber collided with Julia’s short sword in a backwards slash. And the power within that attack pushed her back.
Julia was shocked by his wrist strength. The power within that attack was not small.
Although she hadn’t used all of her strength in that attack since it was rushed, her opponent had been able to see through her attacks so effortlessly and either evade or counter. This sparked a mixture of feelings within her. There was excitent but also annoyance and dread within her that she rarely felt.
Julia clenched her teeth and asked "Why won’t you attack why won’t you fight back? Do you look down on so much?"
She had been trying so much but she hadn’t been able to get anywhere with this guy. He just kept evading her and showing her just how much she could not touch him.
Then a voice sounded, "I am not looking down on you. I was just letting you attack so it wouldn’t end too soon or you would not learn anything from this fight." it ca from right in front of her.
Julia was surprised by what she had just heard. ’He was letting attack all this ti because he did not want it to end too soon. He wanted to learn sothing from this fight.’ She was flabbergasted.
"You’ve been attacking all this ti. I think it’s my turn now." Drake said softly.
While Julia was startled by Drake’s words, Drake’s body flashed and arrived right in front her. The saber in his hand chopped rcilessly down at Julia.
She hastily raised her short swords and the next second the short slender saber was upon her.
DANG! DANG! DANG!
Julia brandished her swords to block the attacks and tallic clanging sounds rang out continuously. Drake’s speed got faster and faster. Soon Julia ca to a point where she could only see a vague image of a saber. She could only rely on her feelings and sense of danger to defend herself but even then.
"What a fast saber!" Julia cried in astonishnt.
Julia had never seen such a fast use of the saber before. The opponent did not use any complicated Saber Techniques; he used only the simplest combinations of sweep, hack, push, pare, skim, swing, chop, and pierce.
These were the eight basic movents when using a saber. However, it was all it took to completely render Julia completely helpless and incapable of retaliating.
DANG! DANG! DANG!
BANG!
Drake’s slender saber once again smashed into Julia’s short swords pushing her back.
Julia took several steps back to disperse the force from that attack.
Julia was shocked. That last attack by her opponent looked like it had been a single powerful chop, but it actually wasn’t. Instead it was 15 slashes. But they had happened so fast that the power in the attacks exploded at the sa ti. That was what had accumulated enough to push her back.
The spectator stands were silent as several people gawked with mouths wide open.
Several mages had solemn faces as they watched. They kept asking themselves, if they would have been able to defend against that flurry of attacks, if they were the ones in Julia’s position
It was unknown when, but the number of people watching this fight had reached 500 viewers, which was considered quite good for a preliminaries match.
Julia was perspiring trying to catch her breath. Drake drew back his Saber and stared at his opponent while nodding in approval.
"Reflexes are good and the foundations are also very stable. Your attacks are also decisive and sharp. This is very good. However, you will have to do better than that if you want to defeat ." He said like an old Sensei giving pointers to a student.
Actually with Julia’s Cultivation level and Battle power, Drake was not strong enough to shake her. The only reason he had beat her in that last exchange, was because he was faster and more skilled than her.
Julia’s chest heaved as she took deep breaths. Her sharp gaze glared at Drake.
She could not believe that she was going to lose in this kind of situation. Julia had joined the preliminaries thinking that she would definitely be able to get to the end because she believed nobody would be capable of defeating her. But who would have ever expected that not only would she be be defeated, but it was on her first match.
She had never lost so much face before in all her life. Ever since she started her training she had been a prodigy in close combat, mastering all kinds of techniques for movent, concealnt or combat. She had done her best putting in all her efforts and because of this she had never lost to anybody in the Shadow family that was in the sa generation as herself.
However, today she had t her match, and she was going to lose.
As Julia rembered how much work she had put in to get here; her gaze grew sharper.
"No I can’t lose. I refuse to!" she said.
Boom!
Julia’s two short swords suddenly burst into flas as both her eyes turned completely black. The next second she crossed both her short swords in front of her and charged at her opponent.
The blazing black fla imdiately made the temperature rise up a notch.
"Fucking Amaterasu!" Drake cried out and jumped back.
The situation reversed in a flash as the two swords combined with her Shadow fla ability. With a scary imposing aura, Julia’s weapons were already in a league of their own, above that of Drake’s Saber with their new killing power.
WHOOSH!
Julia began her assault. This ti, she didn’t use any special techniques, but instead opted for a head-on attack. When she used this Shadow fla, there were few among her peers who could be considered a worthy opponent.
Drake hastily retreated. ’Are you fucking kidding? That’s fucking Amaterasu! There’s no way I’m letting that touch .’ Drake thought.
But Julia did not give him the chance as she once again vanished from sight.
’Shadow Transposition!’
Julia once again appeared right next to Drake, only this ti instead of teleporting behind him or aiming for a blindspot, she appeared right in front of him and pierced her sword at him.
Bang!
The Saber parried the sword, but in response, Julia’s eyes blazed with ferocity! She did not retreat but chose to attack. She would take her opponent down, even if it ant to risk her life.
Her two flaming Short swords flared up at that mont, Black flas devoured the entire sky around Drake and he felt a premonition of impending death. It was almost as if the Grim Reaper’s sickle was curling its way around him and it made him feel cold in his heart. This was Julia’s strongest attack that no one had ever been able to withstand before.
Almost everybody born into the Shadow family had Shadow power. As long as they awakened as a mage they would possess Shadow power.
However, just because they possessed Shadow power, did not an they would not be able to have any other Magic power attribute.
For special people favored by the heavens and magic energy; it was possible for them to have an additional Magic power attribute affinity. Since Shadow power was just their bloodline power.
Julia was one such special person.
Not only did she have her shadow power as a bloodline ability but she also possessed Fla power. And the best part, was that she was capable of rging both elental powers to create Shadow fla, a special fla that could incinerate anything!
Julia shouted out. "Blooming Blood Lotus!
"
In a flash, the flaming Short swords exploded like a fiery blooming lotus flower!
The spectators were all petrified at the sight of this. Damn, this was sothing even soone with a pigs head would know about! This was the Shadow family’s sure kill technique!
In a brief mont, Thirty-six Shadow swords covered in flas exploded out forming an infernal sword light. The Thirty-six swords of Shadow and fla were pointed at Paragon waiting to descend. Even if an expert could evade this Short sword attack, they would still be turned into a pincushion by the Shadow swords and burned to crisp by the flas.
This was a certain death situation!
Nobody had ever dread that they would be able to see such a powerful attack in the preliminaries. Without a doubt, Julia this beautiful Dark Elf, was from the Shadow family.
The blazing Shadow swords descended. Just as everyone was sighing and lanting Paragons demise, Drake’s lips parted and he called out.
"Infinity Domain!"
