Briar looked at the two won who accompanied her and apologetically said, "I am sorry for being a ss. I will do my best to be stronger in the future."

"It’s fine, dear. For now, let us just rest. You will get used to these in the future!"

Briar shyly looked at her mother-in-law and said, "I will learn and not disappoint you in the future."

Alice watched all that with a smile. It would be better to not let Briar’s mind get more corrupted. If she were to learn the devious tricks used by most ladies, wouldn’t they create a devil?

Recalling how she was frad by Briar back then, she shuddered at the thought of Briar learning more than that.

Suddenly, she decided to have a chat with her mother. Perhaps it was advisable to let Briar take care of the children and be associated with the ladies who ant well. She must never learn anything that is devious.

She was scared just thinking about it.

After Briar was calm, the three returned to the banquet and Briar looked bright without any signs of crying earlier.

When they appeared in the hall, all eyes were on them and Briar being thick skinned like she was, didn’t evade the questioning gazes, but simply smiled at them before walking towards Lady Diana, whom she wasn’t going to forget.

If only this lady had invited her properly, perhaps she wouldn’t have to be pointed out in public by others.

Lady Diana was nervous as she didn’t know what Briar wanted to do upon return but when the other stopped in front of her with an apologetic expression and apologized, she heaved with relief.

Seeing her bright smile without any trace of being wronged, Lady Diana felt more guilty/

Briar didn’t stay with Lady Diana for a long ti but returned to Bertha and continued with her food.

Since it was mingling ti, Briar didn’t waste her ti doing unnecessary things and did her best to chat with those she felt attracted to.

Those who thought that Briar was dramatic and a cry baby were quite surprised seeing that she could actually hold her conversations. And as long as they talked about children and other holy topics, she was a good conversationist.

Briar was happy to make a lot of friends on this night and everyone seed to have forgotten about the earlier drama.

By the ti the banquet ended, Briar was laughing heartily with others. Madam yer and Alice were relieved the most.

In Madam yer’s mind, she thought to herself that perhaps it wouldn’t be bad to bring Briar to more banquets. It wasn’t like hiding her would solve anything.

One day, Briar was going to take the mantle of the matriarch. The sooner she starts the sooner that she would also retire.

Briar was completely unaware of her mother’s thoughtful thoughts. She was just entertaining herself.

When the banquet ended, they left the hall in groups, and Briar was with Bertha, Alice and Vivian.

"Did you have fun?"

Briar nodded with sparkling eyes, looking like a child which made those seeing her find her very cute.

"It was very nice. I enjoyed it."

"Good, you did. Next ti if anyone bullies you, bully them back!" Vivian’s eyes flashed as she said that.

Briar burst into laughter upon hearing that, looked at Vivian with a dumbfounded expression and said, "How can you comnd to repay evil with evil?" puffing her cheeks in the process.

Those ladies in the four’s range couldn’t help but stifle their laughter when they heard that.

Vivian rolled her eyes at Briar and retorted, "If you tolerate them, they will continue bullying you!"

Briar shook her head and responded, "We shouldn’t spread such behavior. The cycle would never end. Besides, if I bully others, what would that teach the children?"

When the other ladies heard that, they couldn’t help but wonder what kind of bringing Briar had to have such naïve thoughts.

Madam yer on the other hand couldn’t help but smile hearing that. Her daughter-in-law was truly ..... she could never trade her for anyone else.

Such pureness, how could she taint that?

Bertha on the other hand maintained her stoic expression but inwardly she was rolling in laughter.

How could this girl who dared to avenge every grievance utter such nonsense?

However, they couldn’t break this persona. So, she could only listen and play dead.

"Madam yer, you got yourself a treasure there."

"Indeed. It would be pitiful if it got tainted!"

Madam yer nodded in agreent and suddenly felt a headache coming.

Nonetheless, Briar continued with her play and made her friends speechless with her way of thinking.

"I think that people need to live harmoniously if possible. So problems can be avoided. If you bite back just because a mad dog bite you then wouldn’t you also beco a mad dog?"

"I have always been taught to be respectful to others. Obey your elders and beco a person who can be a role model to the children. If attending parties ans facing others and bullying them if they bully , then I would rather spend this ti at ho with the children doing howork. At least that way, I can do sothing productive, not just for myself but for others as well."

Alice was at a loss as she listened to that. ’What if Logan wants you to accompany him to banquets and the like?"

Briar’s eyes lit up when she heard that. She looked at Alice shyly as she answered, "he is my husband and I will always support him. But that doesn’t an that I have to put on air. That will only make others look down on him and the family."

"You ....."

Briar grinned sheepishly at Alice before looking to the front where a familiar car was just about to co to a halt and her expression softened, and pink bubbles seed to be floating around her.

Seeing her like that, the others couldn’t help but look where she was looking. Vivian, Alice and Bertha instantly recognized the car and shook their heads helplessly.

’This love-struck fool!’
