Chapter thirteen

A pack of used Kleenex, a cat vomit, one missing sock, red and stinging eyes, four cups of black coffee and a banging head later, she made the best bad decision of her life.

She was sprawled on the bed,her back tucked into an awkward position as drained the last of her coffee and blew the snot on her sleeves.

She took a deep breath and stood up with a determination that rivals that of a war lord, she stomped across the floor and it felt good. The outco might be anything but.

She opened the window and watched as miss owgly wagged her tail and slipped into the night.

She envied the cat so much and would give anything to be one right now.

She grabbed her phone and sat on the bed, her head was still pounding but she fancied the pain made her more alert and sharp. And even though all she wanted to do was to sleep herself into Oblivion and forget that this was her life, her mother's was on the line.

She clicked on a link decisively, and sucked in a breath. She was really going to do this.

Her fingers shook as she scrolled across the barely legal site, perusing and searching for the lesser evil offers and the better money.

An offer for a stand-in girlfriend for a gay guy whose mother was on a sick bed(the situation was too heartbreaking..)

Another offer to offer her boobs to so random bald man (she gagged and fought the urge to puke)

Selling pictures of a private part....

Cosplaying as a cat licking milk from the toilet seat(plainly disgusting)

And other series of unthinkable and humiliating, disgusting offers. She cursed and scread into her palms.

Can she really do this?

Lin wei rubbed her eyes and tried to exit the app, it was an abomination.

Things human do for money are just beyond her. What do you an soone would act like a doctor and carry out and operation on a stray cat for three million dollars??

She shook her head. She doesn't even want to think about it. As her fingers grazed the exit button, her eyes caught a few blurry sentence at the end of the screen.

She tilted her phone to a side and gasped when she finally saw the announcent.

"Contracted mother for two six years old. Interview in three days. The process is legal and all applicant are expected to be educated and above legal age. Terms and conditions applies"

She laughed and shook her head disbelievingly. Do things like this still happen in real life? Only in foolish romance novel where the lady will offer to be a mother to the children and everyone gets their happy ever Afters.

This was the real world. She read the announcent again, oddly irritated at the overuse of the word "legal". The irony of the situation wasn't lost on her.

She dialed Bai Yue's number, wanting to regal her with the odd bad but expected news. This was sothing they both had anticipated and Lin wei had checked out the site not heading to Bai Yue's advice.

"Hello?," Bai Yue's scratchy voice reached her ears.

She sighed and felt guilty for waking her sleeping friend. She glanced at the dingy grandfather clock above and her eyes widened. It was well past midnight.

She twirled her hair between her fingers and bit back the urge to laugh. Her situation was absurd and so very unreal. Just one night, she had went from that vibrant teenager who was absolutely absorbed with her dream of becoming an accountant to an highschool dropout trying to make end et.

Hot tears threatened to spill out of her eyes but she was too damn tired and dehydrated. The saline water was having a hard ti coming out of her red eyes.

"Earth to you Weiwei. Are you there?"

Bai Yue's concerned voice snapped her out of her reverie. She could hear the background shuffling of feet and reckon she must be getting out of her bed.

"I'm sorry. I got distracted," she murmured into the phone.

"Is sothing up? Are you okay? Do I need to co over?," Bai Yue demanded worriedly.

"No no, it's not that," she bit her lower lips "it's the site" she concluded.

She already knew what was coming so she braced her herself and was ready to tube Bai Yue out.

"Weiwei! What the fuck?? I told you not to! What if it was a bad devil site just like those one we usually watch in a serial killer movie? What if one of the pervert got your ho address and start stalking you?? What if.." she paused and slurped noisily.

"It's okay Yueyue! It's not like that," Lin wei took the opportunity and rushed on. Getting Bai Yue to shut up is another task she always have a hard ti doing.

"Okay..so what's up? Did you see anything good?," She added a snort for good asure.

Lin wei could imagine the raise of her eyebrows.

"No I did not..," she thought about the last announcent she saw and wonder if she should tell her.

"Spit it out," Bai Yue replied. Her gentle footsteps sounding in the background.

"I'm sure it was nothing serious. Probably a bored person trying to stir up so reaction and a few likes and comnts. But it caught my reaction and I checked it out. It was an offer about being a contracted mother just like in those silly romance book...."

The rest of her words was drowned in the unmistakable sound of soone peeing.

"Are you peeing?" Lin wei asked and burst into laughter. This girl was the most random girl in the world.

"What? You're the one who woke up in the middle of the night and for your information, I'm now wiping my butt with the last available piece of tissue." She retorted.

"Yes, you were saying?" Bai Yue inquired with a yawn.

Lin wei's heart swelled with love for this silly human. She was so selfless and would sacrifice her sleep to listen to her friend rant about weirdos on the internet.
