Chapter 271 - Shenzhen - Departure
After weighing the two options, Xiu i finally decided not to throw her father under the bus and avoid Mrs.Ying’s wrath that might befall upon her if she gets associated with Mr.Ying’s mistress. However, though, she wasn’t going to jump into the pit of criticism because of this female politician.
Xiu i took a sip from her juice and road her gaze around discreetly.
She already planned the scenario in her head, while cautiously watching the reaction of other people in the lounge.
She glanced briefly at the woman sitting in front of her who was giggling at her story that she wasn’t even listening to. She carefully put down the glass in her hand and flashed her professional smile that doesn’t look too fake but isn’t too sincere either.
The woman was talking about the so-called ’chat’ that she had with her father before in a banquet, but knowing her father’s attitude, that so-called chat was just definitely a polite greeting of hi and hello, then saying one sentence before ignoring a person’s existence. She really doubts that her father has enough patience to deal with this kind of woman.
Xiu i finally opened her mouth after acting cold to her the whole ti.
"It seems you’re quite familiar with my father?"
In all honesty, she couldn’t rember the na of this politician at all. So Xiu i was very careful with her words so she doesn’t find the need to use to call her na.
"Yes!" The woman lied through her teeth while putting on a fake smile, "We had a short chat about so governnt projects that I proposed and was very much interested in his opinion about it."
Xiu i kept her smile on her face as she nodded at her words.
"I’m pretty sure my father would be delighted to express his opinions about it." She saw the woman’s face lightened up but before she could express her excitent, Xiu i ruthlessly cut her off first.
"Why don’t you bring him to the restaurant you went to the other day? I ate my lunch there before and it was all very delicious." She raised her head, flashed a wide smile that was reaching her ears and her eyes turned into crescent moons.
Xiu i watched as the woman’s smile faltered and she chuckled inwardly at her reaction.
"Which restaurant?" The woman was too caught off guard by her that she couldn’t stop herself in ti from speaking those words. She paused then laughed nervously before changing her tune in an attempt to hide her emotions.
"Oh my! It seems like Ms.Xiu i and I have so fate to have crossed our paths in the restaurant. The food at the XXX restaurant is indeed very delicious. Did you try their braised turkey specialty there? It was so good, isn’t it?" The female politician laughed nervously as she ntioned a different restaurant na apart from the restaurant that Xiu i was implying. She even asked a question to try to steer away from the topic, and she was looking straight at her as if stopping her from further continuing her initial topic.
Xiu i sneered. Does she think she was a pushover?
She picked up her fork and stabbed the leftover pieces of fruit on her small plate.
"Yes, their braised turkey is definitely a must-try there." Xiu i acted as if she was going to follow her tune and the woman suddenly bead another smile. But of course, she cut her off again.
"But the restaurant I was talking about was the XXX Restaurant ah. I had my lunch there the other day and what a coincidence that I also saw you eating there." Xiu i paused.
Then she put the fruit in her mouth and slowly chewed it. After swallowing it, she continued her words.
"Ah, how was the bird’s nest that you ordered that day? I saw that you and your friend had one of each. Quite extravagant for lunch, aren’t we?"
Xiu i’s words dropped like a bomb to that woman’s ears. She raised her head and she imdiately suppressed herself from laughing.
Oh my gosh, look at that face.
If they were in an ani, there’s going to be a storm appearing behind her for sure to perfectly show her horror-stricken expression. To even think that she beca a senator with such easy-to-read emotions on her face, wouldn’t she need a career change very soon?
The female politician who was dumbstruck montarily eventually returned to her senses within seconds. She wiped off the stupefied expression on her face and gone was the fake smile she had earlier. She darted her eyes around nervously around her surroundings, hyper-aware and nervous if the people around them were listening in their conversation. She decided to lower her voice, a complete opposite of the loud voice she had been using while chatting with her earlier as if to show off that they have a good relationship for appearance’s sake.
"What are you trying to do?" The female politician said while gritting her teeth, completely contradictory to the smile she had on her face at the mont.
Xiu i was thrilled. Finally, she’s playing her ga now.

"Shouldn’t I be asking that to you? What are you trying to achieve?" Xiu i paused for a second and tilted her head. "Ah, yes. Isn’t it to flaunt to the people that you have good graces with the Xiu Family to try to make connections not only with our family through , but also grab the chance to make connections with our other allies and fool the public into voting you thinking we’re on the sa boat?"
Xiu i ruthlessly revealed her intentions into the open.
She was definitely good with her words if it’s about business. But Xiu i could never be as good as her father and her second brother whose eloquence is way beyond hers. So when facing people who have bad intentions when trying to get close to her, plus she doesn’t like wasting so much ti with that kind of people, Xiu i was often ruthless and had a habit of taking off those masks in their faces by revealing their hidden intentions to her in their faces.
The female politician was horrified for a split second. She wasn’t expecting Xiu i to be this cold-blooded when she approached her. Normally, other people would have still given her face despite acting a little too close with them considering the image and reputation of both parties but Xiu i was an exception.
Other people would ignore her as a response while the other would just go along with it. But she... completely tore her face off!
Xiu i watched as the woman’s expression turned stiff before it distorted to anger as she glared at her and threw her a warning look.
Xiu i wasn’t intimidated nor threatened at all but she was felt like laughing after being entertained by the continuous change of her expressions.

Xiu i picked up the juice glass again and with a lowered voice just loud enough for the two of them to hear, "Though I really admire you ah. To think that you have a good relationship with Mr.Ying. I really didn’t expect to see you two so courageously making out in that restaurant."
Then she saw that woman’s hand trembled but her reaction didn’t reflect anything on her face.
"Watch your mouth." The woman said venomously while keeping that smile on her face so professionally. Of course, Xiu i didn’t lose out and fearlessly pushed her buttons.
"Why should I?" Xiu i crossed her legs, placed her elbows on the armrest she was sitting on, and rested her chin on the palm of her hand.
"Didn’t you co to in your own volition? Aren’t you the one who approached so bravely trying to get to talk and now that I’m willingly playing with your ga, you’re telling to shut up?"
She continued acting naive as she continued, "Oh, was I not supposed to tell anyone about you and Mr.Ying? Oh my god. I thought you weren’t keeping it a secret so I already gossiped about it with my other friends yesterday when—" Her voice was suddenly drowned by the flight announcent.
Xiu i knew that the woman was going to try to run away first but she wouldn’t let her steal that opportunity.
She put on a show of looking at her watch and picked up her things before standing up.
"That’s the cue for my flight. Unfortunately, we’ll have to postpone this conversation to another ti. It was fun chatting with you." She flashed a small smile her way and bid her goodbye.
"See you, and Mr.Ying around." She said in a low voice. Chuckling, she strode to the door and left the lounge like a queen.
Xiu i missed the best part when that female politician almost tripped when she was trying to run away from the lounge and avoiding the people there.
