Shi Che’s gentle pleading, Ling Chuxia was completely powerless to refuse. A man like this, no one could resist. She looked at him through tear-filled eyes, her mouth full of bitterness, "But, I’m afraid I can’t get through this hurdle in my heart."

The next second, the wall lamp on the bedside table lit up, Shi Che turned over and got up from the bed, only to see Ling Chuxia, sleeping beside him, her beautiful features tightly knitted together. Pain was etched between her brows, her lips moved, repeatedly saying no, no, as if she was trapped in an endless nightmare.
Shi Che’s heart tightened sharply. He hurriedly reached out to gently pat her face, his voice low, as if afraid to startle her, "Chuxia... wake up, Chuxia, don’t be afraid, it’s just a nightmare, Chuxia!"
Shi Che’s call reached Ling Chuxia’s ears, and she was suddenly startled awake, her eyes snapping open, still filled with undispersed pain and fear.
Shi Che looked at her, just about to speak, but Ling Chuxia, however, got out of bed first, stumbling toward the bathroom. Shi Che’s heart clenched as he hurriedly got out of bed as well and ran over in big strides.
When Shi Che entered the bathroom, Ling Chuxia was already standing under the shower, turning on the tap, letting the icy water pour directly over her body. Her hand began unconsciously scrubbing her skin hard.
A flash of intense pain crossed Shi Che’s eyes for a brief mont, but at that mont he couldn’t afford to care about his own feelings. He took a couple of strides forward, turned off the shower, then grabbed a towel from the rack beside him, wrapping Ling Chuxia up entirely. He then carried her in his arms, walked out of the bathroom, and placed her on the bed. Walking to the wardrobe, he took out a clean nightgown and turned back to help Ling Chuxia change clothes. However, she struggled fiercely, wrapped in the towel, shrinking back, muttering in panic, "No, no!"
Shi Che’s footsteps stopped, no longer moving forward, but instead speaking softly, "Chuxia, it’s , Shi Che. Don’t be afraid, it’s . I need to help you change out of these wet clothes, okay?"
The familiar voice reached her ears, and Ling Chuxia’s vacant eyes slowly regained so focus. It took a while before she slowly ca to, looking at Shi Che and softly calling out, "Shi Che?"
"Yes, it’s ." Shi Che responded gently, slowly moving closer to her.
Ling Chuxia still looked very dazed, "What happened to ?"
