Shi Che seed to have a lot of patience this ti, as he did not urge her but simply waited quietly, and for a mont, the only thing left between the two was a soundless silence.
Ling Chuxia thought it over and over again, reasoning that if just being Secretary to Shi Che for ten days would seal the deal for the collaboration, it truly was more beneficial than harmful for her. Even though she didn’t want to get close to Shi Che, the partnership was really important to Brother Xuan.

Unable to help herself, Ling Chuxia once again spoke up to confirm, "Just ten days? I only need to be your secretary, to help you handle official business? Nothing else?"
"Mm, just ten days," Shi Che paused slightly on the other end before he confird it, word by word.
Ling Chuxia clasped her hands tightly and took a deep breath, then finally responded softly, "Okay, I agree to your terms."
Ten days, in exchange for finalizing the deal and putting this issue to rest. Afterwards, she estimated that she and he would probably have nothing more to do with each other. She thought that it was a good deal.
As long as he kept his promise.

The next day, Shi Che gave Ling Chuxia a call early in the morning, giving her an hour to co to the hotel imdiately.
Ling Chuxia was still groggy in bed when she received his call, mumbling a reply before hanging up. It was a while before she suddenly opened her eyes wide.
Shoot, she had almost forgotten about what she had promised Shi Che yesterday. She bolted upright out of bed, grabbed her phone and saw that it had been half an hour since Shi Che had called...
And it would take at least another half-hour to get to the hotel from where she was... Ling Chuxia grabbed her hair in panic, and in the next second, she rushed into the bathroom like lightning to wash her face and brush her teeth. Then she got dressed, changed her shoes, grabbed her bag, and dashed out like the wind.
Although Ling Chuxia got to the hotel as quickly as she could, she was still late. When she entered the room, Shi Che was already there in his neat suit, waiting expressionlessly.
His dark eyes fell on her, and Ling Chuxia unconsciously lowered her head.
Shi Che raised his hand to check his watch, his voice cold and curt as he spoke, "You are twenty minutes late. Punctuality is a basic requirent for a secretary, don’t you agree, Secretary Ling?"
Shi Che’s tone was uncomfortable to listen to, but Ling Chuxia knew she was in the wrong this ti, and it wasn’t her place to argue. She simply replied gloomily, "Don’t worry, it won’t happen again."
Shi Che seed to glance at her and then seed not to, remaining silent. He strode out, leaving Ling Chuxia standing there stunned for a second before she realized and hurriedly followed.
When they went downstairs, a car was waiting at the door. The driver, standing by the car, respectfully bowed upon seeing Shi Che, greeted "President Shi," and then opened the car door. Shi Che bent to get in, and after a second of hesitation at the car’s front, Ling Chuxia also got in.
The car started smoothly.
Ling Chuxia caught a glance of Shi Che out of the corner of her eye, silent all the way, and couldn’t help but ask, "Where are we going now?"
Shi Che did not look at her or acknowledge her, as if he hadn’t heard her at all. He simply took out his briefcase, set it on his lap, and began to look through the reports on his own.
Ling Chuxia’s brows furrowed involuntarily. What did Shi Che an by this? Surely he wasn’t really playing her?
