Chapter 991: 308. Pursuing Shadows_2

The shadow fragnts trapped within the rock cage were not spared either, one by one they were blasted into fus by the lightning and disappeared from the ground level.

The rock cage itself, however, survived thanks to its decent resistance to thunder and lightning energy…

Aside from Noland Lee, there were no other life creatures or monsters at the scene.

“Hmm, not bad. The resistance of shadow creatures to thunder and lightning energy is a negative 10%. I only used 1 million points of thunder and lightning energy to obliterate 15 Crawling Fears. Without counting the wasted energy, the cost per Crawling Fear was rely 66,000 points of energy,” he calculated the combat data silently, and felt reassured.

Since thunder and lightning magic was so effective, there was no need for him to be as cautious as he had been before.

Noland Lee issued a command to the five Ground Drilling chanisms underground to drill full-force.

...

He then took out another 15 Spider chanisms and threw them into the three cave entrances on the wall.

Each entrance was scouted by five Spider chanisms.

Noland Lee multitasked, controlling twenty chanos at the sa ti through the “Mind Beacon” on his magic ring.

“If Nolin were here, that would be great. She’s much more adept at reconnaissance work than I am.”

Suddenly, Noland Lee slapped his forehead as a brilliant idea popped into his head!

“Eh? Right! If there’s no delay when I use ‘Mind View’ to observe Island 33, regardless of the distance, doesn’t that an Nolin could also control the chanos from a distance without worrying about delay?”

Noland Lee believed this approach was feasible.

He manipulated his thoughts and selected the “Tracking Mark” on Nolin, sent out “Mind Induction,” and communicated with her across the distance.

It was now afternoon.

Nolin was teaching Alchemy Class to Nicolette on the second underground level.

After receiving Noland’s command, she turned and sat next to the magic access ter.

She simultaneously activated two Thought Threads.

No.1 ntal Thread was used to attempt control of the chanos beside Noland.

No.2 ntal Thread was responsible for mapping the layout of the Moleman Cavern that Noland was in, on the magic access ter.

After several minutes of adjustnt, Nolin successfully took over the control of the Ground Drilling chanism and the Spider chanism from Noland.

“Sir! I never thought I’d still be able to help you across such a distance!” Nolin cheered inwardly, her face brimming with a smile.

Noland Lee smiled and said,

“I’m also sowhat surprised. It seems ntal Magic is more profound than we imagined. But let’s not discuss that now, help find the lair of the shadow creatures. Be cautious, I can’t be certain if the shadow creatures are able to inflict a ‘Shadow ntal Impact’ on you all the way in the Suman Archipelago. You’d better sever the connection with the chanos imdiately upon spotting them.”

“Understood, Sir.”

After understanding the characteristics of the Crawling Fear and the shadow pupa cocoon, Nolin began to control the chanos to scout the path.

Twenty chanos, twenty Magic Vision screens, were arranged in four rows and five columns in Noland’s mind.

The images on the twenty Magic Vision screens started to move without Noland having to do anything.

Just as Noland had guessed before, he was indeed within the Moleman Cavern complex.

Departing from the cavern he was in, entering the three holes in the wall led to three different types of Moleman Caverns.

The entrance to the far left led to the Molen’s warehouse filled with mountains of Barren Stone.

The middle entrance connected to a very spacious Underground Hall. On the Floor in the center of the hall, there was a Stone Ornant, handcrafted by the Molen – a piece of stone with nail-carved engravings.

The entrance on the right led to a mine with clear signs of extraction and fragnts of Barren Stone scattered across the Floor.

What was odd was that in the Magic Vision, no Molen were to be seen, nor was there any dark green blood on the ground or walls.

Thus, there was only one answer:

All the Molen in this cavern complex had beco food for the shadow creatures.

The relationship between life creatures and shadow creatures was similar to that of Barren Stones and Molen.

How much shadow energy could an entire cavern complex of Molen offer to shadow creatures and the Shadow Magic Array?

Noland Lee quietly awaited the results of Nolin’s reconnaissance.

Nolin didn’t keep Noland waiting for too long.

However, the reconnaissance results were sowhat beyond Noland’s expectations.

About 300 ters beneath him was an underground hollow as big as a soccer field.

It might have been where the Molen slept, with several horizontal Craters on the walls to accommodate lying Molen.

The Floor of this underground hollow was littered with Molen bones and hair, still devoid of blood.

And in the center of these horrifying remains was a Magic Circle that had been freshly sabotaged not long ago.

The frawork of the Magic Circle consisted of Magic tal Chains with high energy conductivity.

The chains ford a complicated circular pattern on the Floor.

In each of the three corners of the pattern was an empty space designed to host a magical device.

Once the Magic Circle was activated, shadow energy would flow from the Shadow Demon Stone at the center of the circle along the Magic tal Chains into the magical devices, causing so kind of magical phenonon.

This was a universally accepted Magic Circle design in the Realm of Wizards.

But now, this Magic Circle had been sliced, dissolved, and corroded by shadow energy, turning into a pile of tal scrap on the ground.

Undoubtedly, after realizing that Noland could easily wipe out shadow creatures, soone decisively destroyed the Shadow Magic Circle and took away all the shadow creatures.
