Chapter 1333: 434.GM online_3
Cucumber Slice let out a low exclamation at this unexpected transition animation.
Noland Lee dissolved the floating blue sphere, leaving only the red one, which he then pushed in front of Cucumber Slice.
“Co on, eat it.”
With a snap of Noland’s fingers, the red sphere turned into a large, appetizing apple.
“Eating this has so use?” Cucumber Slice asked skeptically, grasping the large apple and biting into it.
Noland explained offhandedly.
...
“This thing is a small program designed to clear viruses. By eating it, you’re essentially loading an antivirus program onto your ga character.”
Cucumber Slice bit into the apple several tis, finishing it off.
He was about to say sothing when he noticed that black smoke had started emanating from his body.
After a short while, as the black smoke stopped, striped lines of light began to flash around his field of vision.
Under his gaze, the ga interface buttons that had disappeared reappeared.
With a thought, Cucumber Slice poked at the semi-transparent Gear icon in the bottom-right corner and sighed with relief when the interface nu popped up.
“Phew~~ Comforting, the ga interface is finally back to normal.”
Cucumber Slice let out a long breath and then, as if suddenly realizing sothing, slapped his palm and said.
“Oh, I get it now. You ntioned the antivirus program just now. So, this malignant BUG is caused by a virus, right?”
“Yes, that’s right.” Noland said.
“Sobody is spreading a virus both inside and outside the ga that triggers these malignant BUGs. The engineers outside the ga are in charge of tracking the virus’s source there. But inside the ga, GMs like are the main force tracking down the source of the virus.”
At this point, Cucumber Slice was sowhat enlightened but still puzzled.
“Then why did I log on all of a sudden? Didn’t I take off the helt?”
Noland shook his head slightly.
“No, you didn’t take it off. If you don’t believe it, try logging off now.”
Cucumber Slice raised his hand to touch his head and indeed felt the tal shell of the ga helt.
His ga character’s eyes looked unfocused, clearly indicating that he had logged off.
In less than half a minute, the ga character’s eyes ca back to life.
With an incredulous tone, Cucumber Slice said.
“I can’t believe I was wearing the ga helt during the eting. How embarrassing. Why didn’t they remind ?”
No, no, no, you actually did take off the helt before the eting.
Noland chuckled inwardly.
After establishing the soul contract, he had imdiately used soul magic to connect to the players’ “Reality” world through Cucumber Slice’s soul in “reality.” Then he altered the mories of everybody in the Cucumber Slice Team.
In the original mory, Cucumber Slice had started the eting only after taking off his helt.
But in the mory altered by Noland, Cucumber Slice was in the eting wearing the ga helt.
Noland did this so as not to let Cucumber Slice know too much, which was also the Order Plane’s Core’s requirent.
Because if the players knew they were just a group of souls being raised within the core of the plane, a massive rebellion would be utterly unavoidable.
Certainly, the Order Plane’s Core wanted Noland to use his passive structure abilities to help clear away the contamination from the Dark Divine Cult.
But at the sa ti, it demanded that Noland keep the players from knowing too much to avoid other issues.
Now, the key to stabilizing Cucumber Slice lied in how Noland could explain the random online log-on as the negative impact of a virus.
If the forthcoming explanation could be accepted and approved by Cucumber Slice, then Noland could use the sa approach with other virus-infected players in the future.
Of course, this assud that the virus-infected players were worth the effort for Noland.
If they were of bad character, Noland would still handle them through reporting.
