Chapter 1221: 387. Rumors and Gossip_2
But when he arrived here, he found that the group of tal Series Wizards were floating cautiously in the air, shuttling between the buildings.
Below the tal Series Wizards, a small squad of Death Steel Soldiers was stationed near the subway entrance, not daring to venture into the urban area nor to move with the tal Series Wizards, showing extre caution.
The Wizards flew in the sky, while the Death Steel Soldiers stood still, one moving and one static.
Noland Lee sensed sothing odd:
“If this urban area is a forbidden place for Death Steel Soldiers, they should be following the tal Series Wizards and monitoring their every move. But now they dare not step into the buildings, behaving as if they are sowhat afraid of this area—what’s going on?”
Noland Lee crossed his arms, feeling troubled again by the absence of the Assassin Angel.
...
If the Assassin Angel were here, he would probably already know the correct answer.
Noland Lee watched the tal Series Wizards’ every move and cast Deconstruction at them.
An unknown temporary state appeared on the panel information of the group of tal Series Wizards:
“Full tal Body and Mind”.
Individuals with this condition would be deeply transford by tal Magic, having no trace of flesh in their entirety, and their souls would be completely sealed by tal Magic, unable to be extracted.
Noland Lee’s pupils constricted as his thoughts raced open!
He was eager to know what was going on with this Root Server Urban Area!
From the tal Series Wizards’ cautious behavior, if any life creature that entered this place had flesh and blood and was unprotected, it was highly likely that an accident would occur.
As for what exactly the accident was, Noland Lee soon found out the answer.
The group of tal Series Wizards arrived at the rooftop of a building and took out materials from their Magic Pouch to set up a temporary experintal site.
They constructed a dissection table equipped with heavy Magic Lock Chains, and then brought out a human body encased in a tal container and placed it on the dissection table.
The mont the tal container was opened, the flesh body inside ignited with a bang.
The burning was extrely brief, the sparks blazing one second and retracting into the flesh the next.
The surface of the body in the tal container showed no signs of burn marks, but its eyes, like those of human torches in the building, emitted a green light.
“This is amazing…”
“I thought the flas just now would destroy this puppet, but it turned out to be completely intact…”
“Don’t touch it, idiot, do you want to be turned into a torch as well?”
The tal Series Wizards exchanged a few words with the puppet inside the tal box, quickly closed the lid, and isolated the puppet from the outside air.
The tal box placed on the dissection table was specially made, with several sets of dissection tools inside and a dedicated place for placing specins.
The tal Series Wizards used their ability to control tal to “pick up” the dissection table inside the tal box without touching it and began to attempt dissection.
The first cut along the puppet’s abdon created a slender wound several inches deep in the skin, without any blood flowing from the wound, but a green luminescence scattered from it.
“Bang.”
The sudden explosion startled the surrounding tal Series Wizards.
Before their cries of shock subsided, the originally silent puppet had already turned into black ash in the explosion, covering the entire tal box.
“Can’t you move any faster!”
“You cut too deep, fool.”
“Let do it!”
The tal Series Wizards argued for a while, took out another tal box, repeated the process, and obtained another puppet that had been transford into a human torch.
“Bang.”
The explosion struck again, and while the tal Series managed to block the impact of the explosion, the puppet followed the fate of the previous one, turning into pitch-black powder.
After several attempts in succession, the experints of the tal Series Wizards all ended in failure.
ditating with the tal System thod tends to make people impulsive and irritable.
Now, the continuous failures had exhausted the Wizards’ frustrations, and a group of them were yelling at each other in the dead silence of the urban area.
Perhaps the tal Ancestor Dragon, hiding behind the scenes and disapproving of the commotion, intervened—the noisy wizards suddenly stiffened, humbly bowing down as if listening to a voice in their minds.
Noland Lee pondered thoughtfully.
Hadn’t the Assassin Angel said that if Tarsali were to cooperate with the Death Steel Legion, it must offer sufficient sincerity?
The Death Steel Legion gives Anti-Demon tal Materials to Tarsali, which should provide equivalent repaynt.
So this repaynt couldn’t be helping the Death Steel Legion to study the strange phenonon of human torches, could it?
If that was the case, then the tal Ancestor Dragon’s elaborate effort to pollute the tal objects throughout the urban area was not completely geared toward finding the thief but also aid at accomplishing a Research Task.
Noland Lee narrowed his eyes slightly.
After much contemplation, a plan that could strike at the heart of the matter erged in his mind.
He summoned the Systems Interface in his mind and selected the “Tracking Mark” on Selena, sending out “Mind Induction”.
At that ti, Selena was dealing with the tasks at hand.
Upon detecting Noland Lee’s psychic call, she waved her hand to let the pen and paper floating in the air drop onto the tabletop, and then asked in her mind,
“What’s the matter, Jarvis?”
Noland Lee asked directly,
“If I want to spread rumors among the wizard groups exploring the Pollution Zone, do you have any good suggestions?”
Selena was taken aback,
“Spread rumors?”
“Yes.”
Selena thought for a mont, twirling her finger under her chin, and said,
“Then I need to ask, are you talking about spreading rumors anonymously, or on behalf of soone?”
“Anonymously,” Noland Lee responded.
Selena considered and then said,
“If it’s anonymously, then I suggest using the Grey Wizards to spread the rumors. Those guys only care about money, not about who employs them, and they have no interest in investigating the identity of their employers. As long as you pay them promptly, their work efficiency will be relatively reliable.”
Selena asked,
“What kind of rumors do you want to spread? It’s best not to damage the reputation of any wizard forces, or else it may easily bring an investigation by the Enforcent Wizards. Also, the price varies depending on the rumor. Rumors about personal private lives are more expensive. Conversely, if the rumor involves more people, the price is actually lower.”
This was the first ti Noland Lee heard that the more people involved in a rumor, the cheaper it was.
However, now was not the ti to delve into it.
He said straightforwardly,
“I’ve found the road leading to the core area of the Pollution Zone, but there are lots of tal Ancestral Dragon bastards blocking the way. I need a group of wizards to help clear the path, distracting the tal Ancestral Dragons’ attention so that I can take away the Anti-Demon Materials.”
Selena beca interested,
“Tell more?”
Noland Lee weighed his words and said,
“Well.. to put it simply..”
Noland Lee took 10 minutes to explain the whole situation.
At the end, he emphasized one point: if the Root Server Urban Area was destroyed, then the Annihilation Field would disappear.
This point was rely a conjecture by Noland Lee, but it was enough to lure the wizards to attack the Root Server Urban Area.
Selena was confused by terms like “human torch” and “Root Server”, unable to imagine the things Noland Lee described.
She could only stick to the facts and put forth her ideas,
“I think spreading the letter’s ssage won’t be difficult. I happened to et a few Grey Wizards last ti I helped you arrange the Energy Conversion Array. I can go ask them about the price.”
“Sure, no problem,” Noland Lee added,
“Safety cos first, and we mustn’t let anyone trace this back to us.”
“Don’t worry, I have an idea. I even have a feeling that spreading such rumors might not cost us a penny.”
The two disconnected contact.
Grey Wizards generally didn’t have Magic ssengers.
To communicate with them, Selena needed to use unconventional thods.
She wrote an anonymous letter with a Magic Pen, put it into a drift bottle, and then summoned a Magic Seahorse using Deep Sea Magic to deliver it to a certain Sea Area west of the Suman Archipelago.
After throwing the drift bottle onto the Sea Surface, it wouldn’t be long before a Sea Eagle, which constantly circled in the sky, would pick up the bottle.
Selena’s Magic Seahorse lingered in the Sea Water, waiting for a Reply.
anwhile, Noland Lee, who was on the outskirts of the Root Server, discovered a large group of Grey Wizards flying toward the urban area like a flock of birds leaving their nest…
Noland Lee cast Deconstruction at one of the Grey Wizards.
After a glance at the Deconstruction Results, Noland Lee couldn’t help but laugh.
Selena’s guess had been right.
The Grey Wizards who first learned of the rumor beca “tap water”; they didn’t even take Selena’s money before spreading the rumor throughout the Grey Wizard Group.
