Chapter 1215: 385. Entering Urban Area

Halfway to the urban area, Noland Lee discovered an unknown status marked with a question mark on his “status bar.”

For safety, Noland didn’t hesitate to expend Energy Points and directly launched the Deconstruction Technique at the unknown status.

After clearly seeing the Deconstruction Results, he instinctively paused in mid-air, his gaze toward the city charged with the trepidation one might feel before a beast that was about to devour him.

[System Information:]

[Deconstruction Success!]

[You have obtained the Panel Information of “Annihilation Field”:]

...

[Na] Annihilation Field

[Type] Technological Environntal Field

[Effect]

Suppresses the flow of non-technological energies and significantly reduces the “Spirit” Attribute Values’ sensing ability towards the environnt.

[Explanation]

You are currently on the edge of the “Annihilation Field.”

Your Spell Casting Ability is reduced by 1%, and “Spirit” Attribute Values temporarily drop by 10 points.

All non-technological energies’ potency decreases by 1%.

It is predicted that upon entering the core area of the “Annihilation Field,” your casting abilities will be completely sealed, non-technological energies’ potency will drop to 10% of the original, and “Spirit” Attribute Values will decrease to 10 points.

“Annihilation Field… sounds like an anti-magic environntal effect over a vast area,”

Noland revisited the Deconstruction Results twice.

“Why does the panel display only this negative effect? Didn’t the Assassin Angel say that within the Pollution Zone there would be a deadly virus that transforms people into Death Steel Soldiers?”

Although he possessed a robust physique and his accompanying chanos utilized technological energy, he still felt sowhat uneasy.

Noland cast the “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation)” upon himself, and imdiately, a system ssage indicating the temporary disablent of “Annihilation Field” echoed in his mind.

Before he deactivated “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation),” his Spell Casting Ability would not be affected by “Annihilation Field.”

“Hmm, this is much safer now. Although my ‘Veil of Different Worlds’ is only an imitation, it can still be used to shield against environntal effects, just like it previously blocked Gilenz’s Power,” said Noland.

Noland landed on the Ground Level, drew his magic wand, and summoned the Rock Spirit to construct a temporary Stone Fortress.

Within the fortress, which covered no more than a hundred square ters, Noland took out his chanos and called Nolin, issuing a series of commands to her.

Over a dozen highly mobile tallic chanisms flew out from the Stone Fortress and zood towards the urban area.

The energy used by these altered chanisms was Direct Current rather than Thunder and Lightning Energy.

Their internal drive chanism had also been switched from the alchemy array that emitted jet streams to the Drone’s Multi-rotor Mode.

Noland glanced at the chanism’s panel; these gadgets were temporarily unprotected by the “Veil of Different Worlds,” but the panel didn’t show any interference from the “Annihilation Field.”

That indicates that the alterations to the chanisms indeed avoid the impacts of “Annihilation Field,” though the noise generated during flight cannot be avoided.

However, noise isn’t a problem, Noland shielded these gadgets with “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation).”

The noise they generated could only be heard by Noland and Nolin, completely undetectable to outsiders.

Nolin controlled the chanics to disperse and fly towards the urban area from various directions.

One of the chanisms flew especially fast, reaching the edge of the urban area first.

“Clink.”

This chanism collided with a layer of Transparent Barrier reminiscent of a glass do, nearly breaking apart on the spot.

“I’m sorry, Sir, I didn’t notice the city was covered by a Transparent Barrier,” Nolin said apologetically.

“It’s alright; I just realized the barrier exists myself,” Noland said as he stared through Magic Vision:

“Have the chanisms search for a way through the barrier. If the whole urban area is enclosed by this barrier, then we’ll abandon this place and continue exploring sowhere else.”

“Okay, Sir,” Nolin replied.

The rest of the chanisms soon reached the outskirts of the urban area, hovering closely against the Transparent Barrier in the air.

This barrier, keeping uninvited guests out of the city, was extraordinary.

It was completely transparent, with a light transmission rate approaching one hundred percent.

Furthermore, its defensive capabilities were astounding.

The chanisms tried attacking, shocking, and using acid, but none left a mark on it.

Especially the Acid Liquid.

The viscous yellow-green liquid splattered on the barrier, running down smoothly like rainwater.

To say it could etch a hole through the barrier was implausible, it hardly even left a damp mark.

“Interesting, what kind of material is this barrier made of?”

Noland thought for a few seconds, then decided to go and see for himself.

He could cast Deconstruction through Magic Vision, but all spells aid at the barrier went through it and hit the buildings behind it.

This was due to the barrier’s transparent feature.

It seed Noland would have to physically touch the barrier to successfully cast the Deconstruction Technique.

Noland used a Flight Spell and approached the barrier.

At this mont, the “Annihilation Field” on his panel showed a debilitation of fifty percent, aning his Spell Casting Ability, “Spirit” Attribute Values, among other things, had decreased by 50%.

Surrounded by nurous tallic and non-tallic chanisms, Noland didn’t have to worry too much about safety.

He moved forward slowly, extending his hands in front of him, searching for the transparent barrier.

Soon, his fingertips felt sothing unusual.

He touched an exceptionally smooth wall, a corner of the Transparent Barrier.

Noland initiated the Deconstruction Technique.
