"Oh... So that’s how it is."

"So? What do you think?"

Seeing this question, Laura Quincy rubbed her temples. Whatever! She had agreed before, and rejecting now would make her seem excessively particular.

She replied swiftly: Fine, but I’ve already booked the high-speed train ticket to Norcastle for tomorrow, so let’s get in touch once you arrive.

Jonah Xavier replied promptly with one word: Okay.

After arranging everything, Laura Quincy used the excuse of packing her luggage to log off; in reality, she just closed QQ and continued aimlessly browsing Weibo and the web...

The luggage had long been packed and didn’t need repacking; she just wanted to find sothing to distract herself, otherwise she would keep thinking about random things.

Jason Hawthorne stayed on the deck for quite a while before going back; he didn’t go ho directly but went to the office to work overti.

Asher Thorne’s call ca in just at the right mont, "My suggestion wasn’t too bad, right?"

Jason Hawthorne snorted disdainfully, "All you do is co up with lousy ideas!"

Asher Thorne paused, "Huh? Laura Quincy didn’t buy it? That shouldn’t be! So won really love these kinds of things!"

Jason Hawthorne rubbed his forehead, "Is my woman an average woman?"

Asher Thorne was speechless: "..."

After a pause, "So, what’s the situation now?"

Jason Hawthorne was utterly defeated, "She’s even angrier; she’d rather choose to jump into the sea than stay with ."

Asher Thorne was taken aback, "Jump into the sea? It’s winter! Although our city Aethelburg isn’t as cold as the far north, it’s winter no matter what! Did Laura Quincy really jump?"

Jason Hawthorne frowned, "Yeah."

Asher Thorne’s expression was exaggerated, "Truly a heroine! So brave!"

Jason Hawthorne’s voice was icy, "It’s all because of your lousy idea! Things are getting worse now!"

Asher Thorne hastily admitted his mistake, "Yes, yes! It’s definitely my fault, I’ll co up with a perfect solution to make it up."

Jason Hawthorne quickly stopped him, "No need! Depending on you for ideas will only lead to more trouble!"

Asher Thorne was hurt, "Jason, can’t you trust just once more?"

Jason Hawthorne coldly replied, "Nevermind, I’ll hang up now."

Asher Thorne asked, "Where are you? I’ll co find you."

Jason Hawthorne’s voice was as calm as water, "I’m in the office, feel free to co by."

Asher Thorne shook his head quickly, "Then forget it, I’m not a workaholic; it’s better to enjoy the leisure after work."

After hanging up, Jason Hawthorne buried himself in work; with Jasper Hawthorne and Serena Jennings’ wedding approaching, it didn’t affect him much, as he’s already prepared everything on Old Master Jennings’ side, even if he didn’t marry Stella Jennings, it wouldn’t affect the collaboration and personal ties between the two families.

As for his brother trying to get help from the Xavier Family, it’s likely a futile effort.

Everyone in the company now knows that Vivian Hawthorne likes the fifth young master of the Xavier Family, Jonah Xavier, but unfortunately, she’s interested while he’s indifferent, no matter what she does, Jonah Xavier doesn’t seem to care.

Not even interested.

Anyone with clear eyes can see Jonah Xavier doesn’t care for Vivian Hawthorne; surely this matter must have been known to his older brother long ago.

He only hopes Laura Quincy won’t get involved in this matter...

At 11:23 PM, Jason Hawthorne finally got ho; the first thing he did was check on his son in the children’s room.

The little Twinkle was already fast asleep; upon closer look, his sleeping features bore so resemblance to Laura Quincy’s eyebrows and eyes, causing Jason Hawthorne to smooth his son’s furrowed little brows.

Suddenly, Justin Hawthorne sleepily opened his eyes, his voice carrying the distinct hoarse, child-like sound, "Daddy, you’re back!"

Jason Hawthorne’s gaze softened considerably, "Yeah, did Daddy wake you?"

Justin Hawthorne shook his head, "Daddy, tomorrow’s the weekend, did you agree on a ti with sister to co over?"

Jason Hawthorne’s heart stumbled slightly; well...

He opted for a benevolent lie, "Sister is very busy right now, probably no ti to tutor Twinkle in English."

Justin Hawthorne’s sleepiness instantly dissipated, blinking his big eyes, "Daddy, did you argue with sister?"

Jason Hawthorne’s expression beca slightly awkward. Just how astute is his son?

He then feigned being at ease, "No, it’s because of work; sister has to be relocated to work in another city for a while."

Justin Hawthorne half-believingly nodded, "Alright then!"

After just two seconds, he added, "Daddy, if you upset sister, make sure to say nice things; girls need to be coaxed."

Jason Hawthorne was flushed with embarrassnt, "..."

Early Saturday morning, Laura Quincy was woken by her phone’s alarm; picking up the phone to check it, she suddenly rembered today was the day to tutor Twinkle in English.
