“You’re...so an!” I cried out.

“I’ll focus on balancing myself and looking straight ahead if I were you...” Ren said close to my ear.

The path had gotten narrower and bumpier again as we proceeded deeper into the woods. It was clear that the further we ventured inside, the path got more complicated as well. This was probably because fewer people used it, and no one bothered to maintain it.

“How far are we going to go?” I asked.

“You’ll know when we get there...” Ren replied carefreely.

It was true. I knew imdiately when we got there. Why?

Well, because the path ca to an abrupt end. There was just no way forward at all. We had arrived at a body of water. I guess that this was a stream and surprisingly there was a waterfall as well. The scenery was so breathtakingly beautiful that I couldn’t believe my eyes at first. The sound of the waterfall filled my ears as the wind blew against my face.

I didn’t know that there was a stream on the palace grounds, and it was a pleasant surprise. It seed that Ren had been here many tis before. He dismounted and extended a hand towards . After thanking him, I placed my hand in his as he helped down from the horse.

As if the horse knew that it was ti for its break, the beast walked off calmly to the side of the stream and began drinking leisurely. The area surrounding us was green and lush with grass and tall trees. It seed like the perfect place for a picnic except that we didn’t bring any food or snacks with us.

“You did well today, at least, you managed to stay on the horse,” Ren complinted , and I couldn’t help but smile proudly.

“Were you expecting to fall off?” I asked, teasing him a little.

“Maybe. Next ti we co here, you’ll be riding a horse of your own,” Ren said with conviction.

I didn’t know where he got that much confidence from, honestly.

“I wonder if I’ll be able to do that...” I said, unconvinced.

“You will. We’ll get you plenty of practice between now and then,” Ren promised.

Ren took my hand and began leading to the side of the stream and I followed him willingly. Looking down at the water, I realized that the water seed very clean. Ren sat down on the grass, and I slowly did the sa.

“This place is so beautiful and peaceful too,” I said as I looked at the waterfall and then up at the blue sky.

“It is a nice a place. I haven’t been here in a long while,” Ren said.

Ren hugged to him, and I relaxed against his body as we both enjoyed the peaceful nature around us. The horse seed at peace as well and had walked off a little to graze on the grass at a nearby spot.

“Rin...” Ren called my na softly.

“What?” I asked.

“Are you serious about wanting to be a field doctor on the battlefield?” Ren asked abruptly.

“Yes...I am...” I replied with certainty, although I knew that he wasn’t going to like my answer.

“Why would you want to do sothing so reckless like that?” Ren asked, sounding genuinely confused.

“I want to be with you when you go out to battle but I can’t fight so...at least, I can help heal the wounded and if you get wounded then I can heal you too...” I replied honestly with what I had in mind.

“You say the cutest things...” Ren said with a soft laugh.

I was lost in his eyes as his face ca closer to . When I felt his warm lips on mine, I closed my eyes in bliss. His kiss felt so loving, and it ward up deep inside. When his tongue probed my mouth, I parted my lips and welcod its entry. His tongue plunged deep into my mouth as he tasted from various angles.

I let out soft whimpers of pleasure as Ren continued to seduce with his wet tongue. His arms around my body tightened, pulling my body closer to his and I could feel his body heat through my clothes. Our kiss deepened even further as he grinded his tongue against mine. My body started to feel hotter, and it wasn’t long until his hands were stroking my back teasingly.

When our lips parted, I felt a little disappointed when the warmth of his lips left mine. My mind was in a daze because of his passionate kisses.

“I’m happy that you care for , Rin, but the battlefield is a dangerous place. It isn’t suitable for a woman like you to be on the battlefield,” Ren stated sternly.

“But I’m not there to fight! I’ll be helping the wounded in the dical camp,” I countered.

“It’s rare for the dical camp to be attacked but it can happen,” Ren said sternly.

“I know that...but still...” I said, not willing to back down.

“I appreciate the thought, Rin, but I would feel much better knowing that you’re safe back in the palace,” Ren said, calmly.

“You don’t know how worried I feel when you’re out on the battlefield...” I mumbled.

“Rin...” Ren whispered my na, and I could tell that he was slightly shocked at my straightforward words.

“You say that you’ll feel better knowing that I’m safe. I would feel the sa. How am I supposed to rest easy when I don’t even know if you’re safe or not? If you get hurt, I want to be there to heal and take care of you...” I said passionately.

“There will be other doctors travelling with the army. You don’t need to worry so much,” Ren reasoned.

“You told before that you feel like you belong on the battlefield. I figured that if that’s the case then, I need to earn my place to be on the battlefield at your side...sohow...” I said with determination.

“Or you can help feel like I belong in the palace...” Ren said suggestively.

“I will not change my mind...” I replied stubbornly.

“Enough. Let’s not talk about this anymore...” Ren said, bringing the conversation to an abrupt close.
