Naya didn't know how to react to Darren's actions.
She could only flash Caleb a sorry smile before turning back to Darren.
"Well, I wasn't the one who wanted to talk to you..... It was him," Naya replied, turning her gaze back to Caleb.
Darren's expression wasn't the best as he turned to Caleb.
Darren glanced towards Caleb, displeased.
"Naya, we have a good relationship... But you shouldn't call out so casually. My ti should be well spent," Darren said.
Naya's expression also changed; she didn't like the way he was treating Caleb.
"This is Caleb Monrrow, son of Jin Monrrow. He definitely isn't as simple as you think," Naya added, to give more clarity on Caleb's background.
But Darren didn't seem to be bothered by that.
"Oh, you an the least successful child of Jin Monrrow?"
Naya didn't know what to say... She turned to look at Caleb, hoping he wouldn't react badly to Darren's words.
Caleb raised his brow at Darren's words.
The arrogance was steaming in the air.
But Caleb didn't want to annoy the figure.
The fact that he needed help from him...
He couldn't slip.
'He just had to be an annoying ass,' Caleb thought with gritted teeth as he forced a professional smile.
"Sorry, Prince Darren, for calling you out so casually. It's just I needed your help to deal with so political issues."
Darren let out a tired sigh.
"I'm sorry. At the mont, I can't be of any help... I have more important issues to handle," Darren quickly said dismissively.
Both Caleb and Naya were annoyed by his sudden response.
He didn't even give Caleb the slightest opportunity to explain anything.
He just outrightly declined a request even before they could bring it up.
Darren didn't seem to care about what he had done as he turned to Naya with a warm smile on his face.
"But Miss Naya, it's really been a while since we both t... I an, that couldn't be the only reason why you called , right?" Darren asked, flashing a seductive smile at Naya.
Naya's face scrunched up in disgust.
"Sorry, Prince Darren, that's the only reason why I ca here," Naya replied flatly.
Darren blinked, stunned by her cold expression... But he quickly shrugged it off.
"Don't tell you only ca here for that reason?... I an, we could hang out a bit," Darren said with a light chuckle.
"Why would I want to hang out, with you? You couldn't help, so there's nothing else to do."
Caleb didn't know how to react; the prince wasn't just an ass... He was clearly being annoying.
'He's our only chance against Diego. How the hell are we ant to deal with this arrogant bastard and deal with Diego!' Caleb thought, his hands coiled into a tight fist.
Darren let out a sigh of resignation. "Very well then... I'll get to my other business."
He turned to Alice, who sat quietly listening to their discussion.
"Miss Alice, I'm sorry again for keeping you waiting. Please, can we take our leave?" Darren asked with a polite voice.
"Take our leave? To where?" Alice asked with a dark voice.
"What do you an, Miss Alice? You called for my checkup today. Of course, we should be heading to the hospital," Darren replied with a nervous smile.
"Well, since we're all declining requests today... I think I should join in as well. Sir Darren, I think you should head ho... You look perfectly fine to ."
Darren's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Miss Alice, what do you an... I told you..."
"What I an is that Mr. Monrrow here has a request that he needs from you... If you don't accept his request... Then you might as well die in the next few days with your illness. I don't mind," Alice said with a calm face, taking a sip from her cup.
Her words were cold. Final.
She talked as though death wasn't sothing to be afraid of.
Caleb and Naya were both surprised by her sudden interference.
And they were genuinely shocked.
Darren was lost for words.
"Miss Alice, I was being careful with my words before, and I'm not ant to say this, but how can you—"
"If you're not ant to say it, then keep quiet," Alice sliced his tongue off.
She looked at him, her gaze unwavering.
For a mont, one would even confuse who was royalty between the two.
Darren's fists balled into a tight fist.
"Such insolence! Miss Alice, with all due respect... My family has paid a huge amount to you for this treatnt. If you think I'll let you insult so casually after that, then you must be mistaken! You can't talk trash about over so petty idiot," Darren said, standing from his seat, clearly enraged.
Alice didn't move or even react.
She casually glanced up at Darren.
Then she slid her hand into her purse, pulling out a cheque.
She placed it casually on the table.
"Now, Mr. McCoy... This here is a cheque for the three million dollars your family paid for this service. If you think I cannot insult you with or without the paynt... You can take your money back... Then I'll visit your burial with flowers later."
Darren looked at Alice with wide eyes, shocked by her audacity and courage.
He was utterly speechless.
Even Naya was stunned by Alice's audacity.
The royal family had just been insulted—so casually!
And by the last person she would have expected.
Caleb, on the other hand, couldn't help the grin tugging at his lips.
'I'm definitely going to like this one,' he thought with a smirk.
"Miss Alice, you've insulted the McCoy family... I'll make sure you regret this!" Darren spat furiously. He shot them one last glare before storming out of the café.
Caleb turned to Alice. "Why did you do that?"
He was thrilled she had, but curiosity gnawed at him.
"Do I need a reason to do what I want?" Alice replied coolly. Then, with a mischievous smile, she added, "Besides... if it's for my college crush, that makes my reason even better."
"Oh, I see. So that's the reason," Caleb said with a wry grin—though the smile faded when he felt Naya's burning gaze drilling into his skull.
She was jealous again. No mistaking it.
'She's the main reason I can't even seduce the others! With her around, I've got my dick hanging by a thread,' Caleb thought grimly, noting the storm brewing in her eyes.
Alice, fully focused on Caleb, didn't notice Naya's dark expression.
"But aren't you worried about what he'll do?" Caleb asked, genuine concern in his tone. "He's right—the McCoy family has serious influence in this country. You could be in trouble."
Alice waved his concern away like smoke. "Oh, don't worry about that. They'll think twice before ssing with . Besides..." She smirked. "They'll need soon enough to patch that idiot up."
Her confidence was chilling. She spoke as if she hadn't just humiliated royalty.
Both Caleb and Naya were intrigued, but before either could press further, Alice broke the silence first.
"So... what was the issue you needed his help with?" Her golden eyes glimred with curiosity. "I might be able to help."
Naya glanced at Caleb, silently cueing him to speak.
"Well..." Caleb took a mont to bring out his phone, then he showed her the news feed. "It's about this."
"If I can't get the governnt to cancel off their deal with Diego, then I'm likely to lose my source of inco in the next few days... I was looking for soone with enough influence to save from that fate," Caleb explained grimly.
Alice looked at the news feed for a mont, then let out a laugh.
"Well, that's not an issue at all... I have more than one person who can get the work done."
Caleb and Naya turned to look at her, this ti with genuine shock and surprise.
"This is a good college reunion. Don't worry... I'll help you two deal with this one," Alice said with a warm smile.
"C'mon, follow ," she said calmly after she was done with her coffee.
"Well, this ca as a surprise... Just what are you doing to give you this much confidence and influence? I would be lying if I said I'm not impressed," Caleb comnted as they walked outside the café.
"Well, let's just say my work is—"
BOOM.
Alice was still midway through her sentence when a bullet flew past her, driving into the figure next to her.
Both Caleb and Alice froze as the force of the bullet sent Naya flying back into the café.
