Imdiately after lying about the purpose behind his visit, Regulus and his n began pushing through the crowd to make their way toward the altar.

“Argh! Who the hell just shoved to the side?” one of the werewolves of the Crestfire clan grunted and looked behind when he felt soone pushing him aside with much greater force than what was necessary.
All he saw was so more people shouting and getting mad at soone who pushed them too.
Soon, the commotion that was caused by Regulus and his n was noticed by Jero as well as Everard.
“Who the hell are they?” Everard frowned at the disorder that was arising and asked his newly appointed Beta.
Jero was already on his guard by now because though the ceremony crashers were still quite far away from the altar, he recognized the distinct sll that they carried.
He abruptly gestured for so of the werewolves who were standing near the corner of the altar to co to him. And as they were inconspicuously making their way toward Jero, he inford the King, “It seems like they are so uninvited guests from the Atkinson clan.”
Everard instantly looked alard because he knew that they were bad news. “Why now?” he looked at the intruders and grumbled.
Jero took a deep breath and replied, “They can’t be here at this hour for any good reason.”
“Milord.” Jero’s close subordinates stood before him and bowed their heads.
Jero instantly pointed at the intruders and gave those n an order, “Go to them and politely ask them to leave.” Since they were heading straight for the altar, he also added, “If they want an audience with the King then ask them to visit the castle tomorrow.”
“As you wish, Milord.”
Those n instantly rushed down the altar and made their way toward Regulus and his group of n.
Everard’s eyes were still following the intruders. And while he watched them, he was getting this unsettling feeling in his heart.
‘Lorenzo must have explained everything to Romulus’ brother, right?’ he wondered if these people from the Atkinson clan were on his back because of Romulus’ death.
Before he could dive deeper into his thoughts, Jero ca closer to him and whispered, “Your Majesty, we shouldn’t be distracted by the intruders. Our n will take care of them. Shall I announce to everyone that they can now enjoy the feast? They have to be out of the capital before the full moon rises.”
Everard glanced at Jero and gave a nod of approval. “Yes, you should do that. We can’t afford any accidents to occur because of the mbers of our clan.”
“Agreed.”
Jero then walked to the center of the altar and cleared his throat before shouting his lungs out, “Fellow brothers and sisters. We have prepared a grand feast for all of you to celebrate the beginning of a new era for our clan. Please enjoy the feast to your fullest before you depart for your hotowns.”
Everyone was waiting for further instructions. And when they received one, the crowd that was gathered around the altar began to scatter around to serve themselves so food from the buffet tables that were placed at several places, inside and outside the Great Hall.
When the people began to disperse, Regulus clenched his teeth because he wanted to create a big drama in front of everyone.
Seeing the chance slipping past him, he ran at an even greater speed, dodging everyone who stood in his way, and he soon reached the foot of the altar.
The n who had gone down to stop Regulus and the others only managed to stop everyone except Regulus.
Jero recognized the man and knew that he brought no good news. Thus, he quickly sprinted to the side from where Regulus was about to climb the altar.
He stood on the way and pretended to politely greet Regulus, “Oh, it’s good to finally et you in person. If I am not mistaken, you must be Lord Romulus’ brother, Regulus.”
Regulus also faked a smile at Jero and nodded, “Yes, I am. And you must be the loyal Beta of the late Alpha. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“You are right.” Jero kept on standing in Regulus’ way and further introduced himself, “I am now the loyal Beta of the current Alpha as well.”
He then slightly narrowed his eyes at Regulus. The displeasure in his heart got reflected in his eyes when he said in a satirical manner, “You’re a bit late, Milord. Else you could have witnessed the battle as well as the oath-taking ceremony.”
Regulus could tell that Jero was pissed at him for coming in uninvited. But he didn’t care. He simply smirked and said brazenly, “Oh, I thought it would be rude to leave my own ceremony. Else I would have co here earlier than I did.”
He then slightly tilted his head and looked past Jero to take a glance at the King. He smirked when his eyes t with that of Everard’s.
Everard simply feigned ignorance and turned to face the other way. He wanted Regulus and his n to be gone from the Great Hall.
Regulus scoffed thinking that Everard was unable to et his eyes because the pompous King was guilty of killing Romulus and the others.
He kept on narrowing his eyes at Everard’s tall figure and climbed a step. He then said to Jero while keeping his eyes locked on Everard, “Lord Jero, I was hoping that I could congratulate His Majesty on becoming the alpha of this glorious clan. Since I have been chosen as the new alpha of the Atkinson clan, I thought that we ought to congratulate each other and establish a connection.”
Jero wasn’t swayed. He climbed down a step and answered while tilting his body to the side as if he didn’t want Regulus to even see Everard, let alone et him and talk to him, “I’m afraid that I can’t allow it, Milord. You know that only the mbers of the Crestfire clan have that privilege today.”
He turned to look at the other n of the Atkinson clan who were glaring in his direction. They clearly didn’t display any harmonious intention.
Jero looked back at Regulus and further said, “Why don’t you co back to the castle tomorrow? I will leave a pass at the gate for you, and a few of your n if you would like.”
“Oh, but since I’m already here…” Regulus took so more steps and stood beside Jero. He looked up at the man who was taller than him and smiled. Then he finished what he was saying, “…Can’t you make an exception for ? I promise I will keep it short and sweet.”
Before Jero could protest or stop Regulus from taking another step toward the newly appointed alpha, Regulus forced his way toward the center of the altar.
He stood in front of Everard with his head held high and then greeted Everard while hiding the murderous intention that was bubbling inside his heart, “It’s a lovely night, isn’t it, Your Majesty?”
Everard’s heart skipped a beat when Regulus suddenly stood in front of him and greeted him with a smile that he knew was fake. Nevertheless, he also forced a slight smile on his face and replied, “Yes, indeed. It’s a very wonderful night.”
“I am Regulus Atkinson.” Instead of bowing before the King, Regulus held out his hand for a handshake and said, “I am pleased to have finally t you."
