Ji Wei popped her head out of the water and glanced toward the shore, only to find the man pressing his head with both hands, his face pale, looking as if he was in a lot of pain. She panicked instantly.
"Mo Qian, what’s wrong with you? A headache? I’ll co up right away and take you to see a doctor!" She clambered out of the swimming pool in a fluster, not bothering with the water all over her, and hurriedly ran toward Gu Moqian.
Ji Wei, barefooted, stepped onto the tiled floor, slipping and losing control as her body lunged forward.
Out of the corner of his eye, Gu Moqian noticed her movent and quickly dashed over, supporting her steadily before she fell.
"Mo Qian, are you okay? Hmm?"
Ji Wei clung to him with her dripping body, disregarding the fright from just slipping, quickly freeing a hand to caress his beautifully contoured side face. Her worried and concerned gaze under eyelashes still dotted with water droplets stared at him intently.
Seeing the woman’s anxious expression, knowing she was genuinely nervous and worried about him, Gu Moqian grudgingly mustered so energy to reply, "Much better."
Yet Ji Wei still felt uneasy.
This was the first ti Gu Moqian showed signs of a headache in front of her since he returned, and judging by his earlier expression, it seed quite severe.
Though Shi Ye was treating him, Ji Wei was still uncertain about Gu Moqian’s physical condition. After all, having suffered a gunshot wound and been directly swept into the sea, this ordeal was not sothing an ordinary person could endure.
"Should we go to the hospital for a full examination?" Ji Wei said, looking at him with concern.
Gu Moqian hesitated for a mont but then slowly shook his head, "Not necessary."
He had already undergone an exam in the first month after waking up. Going now would likely yield similar results. That kind of dull ache would co in waves, appearing when he tried hard to recall, which happened before as well.
After the sun set, the surrounding temperature dropped significantly.
Facing the woman with slightly trembling lips, and a pale complexion with goosebumps forming on her bare, snow-white skin, Gu Moqian’s eyes darkened. He suddenly scooped her up by the waist.
"Let’s get indoors and change clothes first."
He spoke in a low voice, carrying her with broad strides into the room.
Ji Wei instinctively reached her arms around his neck. Though her worry hadn’t dissipated, she obediently stopped persuading him.
The man’s embrace was as warm as ever, making her yearn for it.
This ti, after settling her down, Gu Moqian turned around and walked out of the bedroom without pausing.
Ji Wei changed clothes and opened the door, her gaze sweeping toward the living room, finding Gu Moqian sitting in front of the sofa. With a laptop on his lap, he was attending to his work, his expression serious.
He never intended to lay off his work after coming out, so as long as there was spare ti, Gu Moqian would delve right back into it whenever he could.
Ji Wei couldn’t help but think: Before they were together, he probably centered his life around work, right? But with her around, he spent all his ti accompanying her.
She quickly noticed the wet patch on his white T-shirt, likely from earlier when he carried her, soaking up water.
The thin fabric was soaked through, clinging tightly to the man’s firm chest, outlining his perfect chest lines, with even faint little protrusions becoming visible...
Ji Wei’s face flushed hotly, quickly averting her gaze, "Your shirt is wet too, aren’t you going to change?"
Noticing the woman’s unnatural deanor while speaking, Gu Moqian paused slightly, then lowered his head to glance at his wet chest.
