Ye Cheng carried a delicate dessert box in his hand as he walked out from the nearby dessert shop, leaving Ji Wei in disbelief.
Mr. Ye, so cold and aloof, actually went to buy desserts?
Doesn’t quite match his usual persona.
"Yes, that’s him." Gu Moqian nodded indifferently in response, but his gaze lingered on a black car parked in front of the dessert shop.
Leaning against the car door was a woman. Tall and slender, she wore a deep purple bodycon dress. Her shoulder-length curled short hair frad her figure, complented by high heels, accentuating a body of impossibly perfect proportions.
Even from behind, it was unmistakable—she was a seductive and alluring beauty.
Ye Cheng clearly didn’t see them; he walked straight to the car and started talking intimately with the woman.
The instant Ji Wei caught sight of the woman’s back, her heart trembled violently.
Isn’t that Zii, who had disappeared for so long?!
She’s really back!
What shocked Ji Wei even more was the level of intimacy between Ye Cheng and Zii... She watched as Ye Cheng took a macaron from the dessert box and personally fed it to the woman.
Although Zii’s expression was obscured, her reaction suggested she must be beaming. Even from a distance, the sweetness between them was palpable.
Suddenly, Ji Wei felt a firm grip around her waist—it was Gu Moqian pulling her close. "Let’s go over and say hello."
The two of them walked toward the black car. A few ters away, Ye Cheng finally noticed them.
His deep phoenix eyes revealed a slight flicker of surprise. He lowered his head and whispered sothing into Zii’s ear. Zii quickly turned to glance behind her.
On the sumr night street, even from a distance, Ji Wei could still make out Zii’s stunning features.
She wore black sunglasses, her seductive face glowing enchantingly under the streetlamp’s light.
It had been so long, yet the woman was still as breathtakingly beautiful as ever.
"Mr. Ye, Boss Zi, long ti no see," Ji Wei greeted them with a polite smile as they approached.
With a natural grace, Zii hooked her hand around Ye Cheng’s arm. Hearing Ji Wei’s voice, she tilted her head slightly and let out a playful chuckle. "Indeed, it has been a long ti. I heard your child is almost a year old now."
"Yes, ti flies," Ji Wei replied, her gaze drifting toward Zii’s sunglasses.
The sunglasses were oversized, concealing much of her face. From the look of it, Zii had no intention of taking them off.
"Weiwei and I were just out for dinner. If you haven’t eaten yet, join us," Gu Moqian suggested at that mont.
Ye Cheng looked at Zii, as if seeking her opinion. "Want to go?"
With a smile, Zii nodded. "It’s not every day we run into each other. Of course, I’ll honor Mr. Gu’s invitation."
Ye Cheng seed a little surprised by her response, giving her a long, scrutinizing look before his thin lips parted. "Alright."
The innermost private room of the restaurant had a classic and elegant décor, exuding serenity.
The four took their seats, and Gu Moqian picked up the nu to browse. Seated beside him, Ji Wei noticed that from the mont they arrived, Zii had not let go of Ye Cheng’s hand.
Understandable—after all, the two of them had just reconciled. Naturally, they couldn’t get enough of being close.
Ji Wei stood up proactively to pour water for them.
"Thank you," Ye Cheng said as he accepted the glass of water from her.
But when she handed a glass to Zii, Ye Cheng reached out first and took it, placing it in front of Zii.
Who would’ve thought that Mr. Ye, when in love, could act like this... He’s spoiling Zii too much!
He wouldn’t even let her lift a finger to take her own glass of water.
Yet, for so reason, an inexplicable sensation welled up in Ji Wei’s heart.
There was sothing about Zii’s return this ti that felt... different.
