In truth, Ji Wei had many doubts in her heart.
Where had Ji Shanshan been for more than a year after disappearing? Who had saved her? And why had she only co back now?

"Surprised, aren’t you?" Noticing Ji Wei’s silence, Ji Shanshan’s voice reached her again, sounding exceptionally pleased: "So it turns out he didn’t even tell you I was back. Is it true, then, that the rumors of your divorce are real?"
"Cousin, back then I did quite like Brother Mo Qian, but he was determined to like you. And now? I’ve realized that you haven’t been living all that happily since you married him, have you?"
"What happens between him and is none of your business!"
Ji Wei retorted coldly, her lips curving into an increasingly chilly smile as she thought of what Lu Heng had told her: "Are you already convinced we’re getting divorced? On the other end of the line, Ji Shanshan silently clenched her fist, pretending to sound indifferent: "Cousin, you’ve misunderstood. I have a boyfriend now—a particularly good-looking foreigner, too—so you don’t need to be on guard against . Besides, secondhand n aren’t my type."
"I hope you rember what you’ve said. There’s nothing more to discuss with you. Don’t ever call again to harass !" Ji Wei replied frostily, then abruptly ended the call.
Everything in her past was because of Ji Shanshan. Their relationship had long since turned deadly hostile. If they t again, she would never play nice and would make Ji Shanshan pay for her actions!
After hanging up, Ji Wei grabbed her nightgown and went to the bathroom.
Gu Moqian returned just as she was stepping out of the shower.
The woman walked out while lowering her head to tie the belt of her nightgown. Sensing soone in the room, she raised her head abruptly, just in ti to lock eyes with Gu Moqian. Ji Wei’s gaze faltered montarily, but she spoke indifferently, "You’re back."
"Mm." Gu Moqian responded in a low tone.
Ji Wei averted her gaze and shuffled to the bedside in her slippers. She bent down to retrieve a hairdryer from the bottom drawer but accidentally pulled at her wound, causing a sharp ache that made her brows furrow and her movents pause.
Before she could reach out again, Gu Moqian strode over quickly. "I’ll get it for you."
He spoke warmly, then turned to fetch the hairdryer from the drawer.
"...Thank you."
Ji Wei looked into his deep, dark eyes and thanked him. She reached out to take the hairdryer from him, but his magnetic voice sounded above her head: "I’ll dry your hair for you."
"That’s not necessary—"
Ji Wei instinctively refused, but the man unceremoniously pressed her shoulders and guided her to sit on the edge of the bed.
