After speaking with Lu Heng on the phone, Ji Wei still couldn’t quite believe it, so she imdiately dialed Ji Yunli to confirm.

"Dad, is it true that Ji Shanshan has co back?"

Ji Yunli sounded a bit surprised: "Little Wei, how did you find out..."

Hearing her father say this, it confird that Lu Heng’s words were true.

Ji Wei tried to keep her emotions steady and said, "I heard it ntioned by soone casually. Dad, you go ahead with your work; I won’t bother you anymore."

After hanging up the phone, Ji Wei’s mood was far from good.

In the past life, she had been deceived and hurt by Ji Shanshan, ending up with a horribly tragic outco. Such a deep hatred would never fade with ti.

Soone she thought had been buried at sea had actually returned alive.

This ti, whatever tricks Ji Shanshan tried to play, Ji Wei would not let her succeed!

However, considering Ji Wei’s current physical condition, she wasn’t suited for eting Ji Shanshan right away. Perhaps she could wait for Gu Moqian to return and discuss what to do with him.

At 8 o’clock in the evening, Gu Moqian still hadn’t co ho.

Ji Wei tapped and lit up her phone screen several tis before finally gathering the courage to call him.

The dial tone rang out for a long ti, but no one answered.

Ji Wei dialed twice more, both with the sa result. Thinking perhaps Gu Moqian was busy entertaining and couldn’t answer, she put her phone aside and got up to head to the nursery.

An An had just finished his bath, lying stark naked on the crib while babbling happily. Seeing Ji Wei co over, he eagerly stretched his chubby little hands and called out in his tender voice, "Mommy!"

Ji Wei picked up her son and kissed his chubby little cheeks, gently saying, "An An, Mommy will put on your pajamas, and then it’s ti to sleep, okay?"

"Sleep, sleep." An An repeated joyfully.

Ji Wei placed him back in the crib and dressed him in a frog-thed little wrap.

After coaxing An An to sleep, Ji Wei turned off the lights and carefully closed the door behind her as she left.

Back in the bedroom, the first thing she did was pick up her phone. Gu Moqian had returned the call three tis, and there was also a text ssage: I’m on my way back ho, about fifteen minutes away. Miss ?

Ji Wei stared at the text ssage, slightly dazed.

Miss him?

Maybe she did... just a little bit.

Especially after learning that Ji Shanshan was back—her heart felt uneasy, and she really wanted to share her thoughts with him.

Ji Wei sat down at the edge of the bed, her fingers tapping the phone screen to compose a reply: Yes, I know.

Soon, Gu Moqian replied: Hmm? Does that an you’re thinking about ?

Looking at the text he sent, Ji Wei’s cheeks flushed slightly. After a pause, she responded: Are you driving? Be careful and don’t look at your phone.

Gu Moqian: Old Xu is driving. Thanks for your concern, Mrs. Gu.

Ji Wei breathed a sigh of relief after reading the ssage.

She placed the phone on the bedside table without replying further. A mont later, the phone suddenly rang.

Thinking it was Gu Moqian calling because she hadn’t responded, Ji Wei hurriedly picked up her phone. But upon seeing it was an unfamiliar number, she paused, startled.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Ji Wei decided to answer the call.

"Judging by my voice, you should know who I am, right?" A young and familiar female voice ca from the other end of the line.

Ji Wei’s eyes widened in shock, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

It was Ji Shanshan!

She actually called her!

Soone believed dead suddenly appearing and even calling her—no one could keep perfectly calm under such circumstances. It took Ji Wei a long ti to collect her emotions before she replied coolly, "Why are you calling ? Trying to provoke ?"
