Mary kicked out with her foot and sent the man flying, the cara crashing heavily to the ground.
The man fell backward into a group of his peers, causing the scene to devolve into further chaos—so were sprawling on the ground, others crying out in pain.
Security guards seized the opportunity to rush forward, dragging the dia reporters out.
In no ti, order was restored at the scene.
The employees watching the commotion saw Ji Wei keeping her expression icy and indifferent throughout, and they dared not speak another word, wisely returning to their own positions.
However, when Ji Wei’s gaze swept across one particular employee, her eyes suddenly turned cold. She pointed at the employee and said, "You stay here."
Mu Jiajiao’s face flashed an unnatural expression, but she quickly composed herself and walked over to Ji Wei, saying, "Miss, do you need sothing from ?"
Ji Wei scrutinized her with a piercing glance, sizing her up from head to toe. "What’s your na?"
The woman appeared to be around twenty years old, dressed fashionably in luxury brand apparel that mismatched her overall deanor. To Ji Wei, she looked like soone consud by vanity.
Earlier, Ji Wei had clearly noticed this employee’s abnormal behavior amidst the crowd. One glance was enough to confirm she was problematic!
"Mu Jiajiao..." the woman replied hesitantly.
"Co with ."
After saying this nonchalantly, Ji Wei turned and stepped into the office.
Mu Jiajiao followed anxiously.
As the door closed behind them, Mu Jiajiao stared at Ji Wei, who was seated at the desk, and spoke nervously, "Miss, is there sothing you want to tell ?"
"It was you who brought those reporters here, wasn’t it?" Ji Wei didn’t beat around the bush, diving straight to the point.
Fine beads of sweat erged on Mu Jiajiao’s forehead. Her expression stiffened montarily before composing herself again. "Miss, you must be joking... I’m just a regular employee. How could I possibly know those reporters?"
"Don’t know them, huh?" Ji Wei cast a sharp glance at her.
"I don’t know them." Mu Jiajiao suddenly felt her mouth go dry, nervously clutching the hem of her dress.
After she spoke, Ji Wei didn’t reply imdiately.
The office fell silent.
The quieter it beca, the more it felt like the calm before the storm, leaving Mu Jiajiao internally tornted. Unable to bear it, she raised her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead.
Every move she made was captured by Ji Wei’s gaze. Sotis, silence could be more oppressive than words could ever be.
"Miss, you’ve really misunderstood . I’ve worked at Ji Family for three years and genuinely enjoy my job. I’ve never had any shady intentions. Those reporters ca here on their own," Mu Jiajiao finally broke under the pressure, speaking up proactively.
"The building’s security isn’t just for decoration. Dozens of reporters barging into the company—do you think that’s remotely feasible?" Ji Wei countered.
Mu Jiajiao’s gaze wavered as she stamred, "I...I usually don’t pay much attention to the building’s security asures."
"Is that so?" Ji Wei smirked. "Well, have I made things difficult for you? Oh, I just rembered—every entrance and exit of the building is equipped with surveillance caras. Once we pull the footage, we’ll naturally see how the reporters got in."
"Y-yes... That sounds like a good idea."
Mu Jiajiao’s face turned pale, her laugh forced and awkward.
She had led the reporters in through the underground parking lot, painstakingly avoiding areas with caras along the way. However, she couldn’t be certain she hadn’t been caught on tape. Right now, her heart pounded uneasily, as if a drum were beating within.
"I’ll have soone contact the security team to retrieve the footage now. Stay here for the mont, and we’ll watch it together later."
Mu Jiajiao wanted to protest, but Ji Wei had already summoned Chen Ke and instructed him to make the arrangents.
"Miss... I suddenly have a stomachache. I’d like to go to the restroom," Mu Jiajiao blurted out anxiously, sweating profusely as she scrambled for an excuse.
