After finishing her call with Xia Duoduo, Ji Wei fell asleep holding her phone.
When she heard a sudden noise in the room, she groggily opened her eyes and saw a tall, lean figure standing at her bedside, silhouetted against the light.
The light from the bedside lamp was a bit harsh, so Ji Wei squinted until her eyes gradually adjusted.
When she realized it was Gu Moqian standing there, she sat up slightly, rubbed her sleepy eyes, and asked, "You’re back? Why so late?"
"Sorry, did I keep you waiting long?"
Gu Moqian sat down at the edge of the bed, looking at the drowsy woman with a hint of guilt in his voice.
Ji Wei shook her head and gave a faint smile. "It’s fine, it’s just social obligations."
Seeing that his face was slightly redder than usual and his deep eyes carried a tinge of haziness, Ji Wei’s drowsiness abruptly lifted. "Mo Qian, did you drink? Are you feeling unwell?"
Gu Moqian raised a hand to loosen his tie. The alcohol made him feel a bit warm, but his voice remained gentle. "I’m fine. I did drink a bit more than usual, but I can handle it."
Drinking was inevitable during social events, and Gu Moqian rarely got drunk. His tolerance was already impressive.
As he spoke, Ji Wei caught a faint whiff of red wine. Feeling concerned, she said, "I’ll make you so honey water. It’ll make you feel better."
Ji Wei tossed off the blanket and climbed out of bed. "I’ll be back soon."
When she ca back with the honey water, Ji Wei looked around but didn’t see Gu Moqian. Then, she noticed the bathroom light was on.
She instinctively walked toward the bathroom.
"Mo Qian, I’m coming in," Ji Wei said as she reached out to push open the bathroom door.
Ti froze for a mont.
As she saw the tall man standing with his back to her in front of the toilet, about to unbuckle his belt, Ji Wei stiffened instantly.
A few seconds later, Ji Wei regained her senses and hurriedly turned around to close the bathroom door.
Standing outside, her tongue felt tied. "Mo–Mo Qian, I made you so honey water. When are you going to drink it?"
How could she have walked in on such an embarrassing mont? She wished she could just dig a hole and vanish.
Soon, the sound of the toilet flushing ca from inside. Ji Wei hesitated whether she should turn back or wait by the bed, but at that mont, the bathroom door opened.
She quickly hid her earlier awkwardness and held out the cup to him. "Drink this while it’s still warm."
Gu Moqian’s face seed even redder, and his deep eyes stared straight at her.
Ji Wei thought there might be sothing on her face and subconsciously raised a hand to touch it. "Wh–What is it?"
Gu Moqian looked at her for a long mont before shifting his gaze to the cup of honey water. His lips, redder than usual due to the alcohol, parted slightly as he said, "Feed . Can you?"
Why did his voice sound like he was acting spoiled?
Ji Wei’s heart nearly skipped a beat. After a brief mont of stunned silence, she nodded. "...Okay."
She raised the cup to Gu Moqian’s lips.
He was nearly six foot three, so Ji Wei, even in slippers, had to stand on tiptoes. She noticed his increasingly deep and hazy gaze fixed on her, but he still didn’t drink. Puzzled, she asked, "Don’t you want it anymore?"
Gu Moqian didn’t respond.
Was the water too hot?
Thinking this, Ji Wei withdrew the cup and took a small sip herself.
Not hot at all—the temperature was just right.
But before she could swallow the honey water, the man suddenly leaned in close, precisely capturing her lips with his.
"Mmm..."
With the honey water still in her mouth, Ji Wei was caught off guard as his tongue pried her lips apart.
The sweet taste of honey spread between them. He swallowed the honey water from her mouth, and as she struggled, so trickled from the corners of their lips, which Gu Moqian kissed clean.
The warm, humid sensation of his tongue against her skin sent jolts of electricity coursing through her.
