Zii quietly listened to him, her palms resting on her knees clenched tightly.
When her parents passed away, she was pursued everywhere, and at that ti, she considered reaching out to Ye Cheng.
However, overnight she went from being a wealthy heiress to an orphan with no family or ho. Zii was devastated, and she simply couldn’t face Ye Cheng in such a situation.
"I’m sorry, A Cheng," Zii said softly.
"I’m not blaming you." Ye Cheng looked at her slightly pale face, reached out, and gently ruffled the top of her head. "I just regret not being able to be by your side back then."
Zii nodded heavily, her nose tingling with a sharp sensation.
"A Cheng, if the results after seeing the ophthalmologist tomorrow are still not ideal..."
"It’s okay." Ye Cheng got up and sat down next to her, wrapping his arms around her: "Even if there’s only a glimr of hope, I won’t give up."
Zii was at a loss for words.
"It’s late, shall we rest?" he said tenderly.
The two of them lay on the bed together, embracing as they fell asleep.
There were many unknowns about tomorrow, but at this mont, nestled in the man’s broad and warm embrace, Zii gradually stopped overthinking and soon fell asleep.

In the morning, since Zii couldn’t tell if it was light yet, she naturally opened her eyes when she felt she had slept enough.
She lay in bed, instinctively reaching out to the side, finding it empty.
"A Cheng." She sat up and called softly.
Receiving no response, Zii fumbled out of bed.
"A Cheng, where are you?" As she walked and continued to speak, unable to see and with no answers, uneasiness welled up inside her.
Ye Cheng, having finished washing up, opened the bathroom door and saw Zii standing at the entrance, trying to open the door. He quickly walked over, grabbing her wrist: "A Zi, I’m here."
Upon hearing his voice, Zii relaxed entirely.
"Not being able to find you made a bit anxious," Zii said, not hiding her emotions.
She had beco accustod to Ye Cheng being around. Not seeing him for a mont would make her feel insecure.
A wave of tenderness swept through Ye Cheng as he led her back, "I’ve ordered breakfast. After we eat, we’ll head out. Let’s freshen up now, okay?"
He guided her into the bathroom.
He took a towel, dampened it, and wiped her face, then handed her a toothbrush and a cup.
"Thank you." Zii smiled as she took them and began to brush her teeth.
Since losing her sight, Zii rarely put on makeup, but her skin was naturally good. Even without any makeup, she was still very beautiful.
Ye Cheng quietly watched her brush her teeth, his eyes always fixed on her clear and lovely face, gentle and calm.
"What do you feel like wearing later?" Ye Cheng asked as he led Zii out.
"You choose. I trust your taste," Zii said.
Having been in the entertainnt industry for many years, Ye Cheng naturally had a good fashion sense. He picked out a dress for Zii, a wine-red one with a ruffled hem. Wearing it gave off a charming vibe, which matched Zii’s temperant.
After dressing, Zii stood in front of the mirror, pretending to examine her appearance.
"Does it look good?" she asked.
"Beautiful, but you are prettier than the clothes," Ye Cheng replied without hesitation.
Hearing this, Zii couldn’t help but smile.
So Ye Cheng could say things like that too.
After breakfast, the two of them went out together. Thanks to a prior appointnt and recomndation letter, eting with Professor Berlant went smoothly.
Zii spent the entire morning undergoing various examinations, while Ye Cheng patiently stayed by her side the whole ti.
