Caleb Mat looked indifferent, his gaze falling on the woman in the corner. Under the shine of the light, Xaviera Evans seed to be glowing. She had fair skin, and her smooth hair draped over her shoulders like seaweed. His eyes couldn’t help but soften.
The noble ladies gathered together, teasing each other and then pulled Zora Hughes with a grin: “Zora, do you think Mr. Caleb Mat ca to see you?”
Caleb said he wanted to announce their engagent in public and walked towards Zora. The entire Hughes family were excited and others, who were close to the Hughes family, were all smiling. After all, if the Hughes family could be tied to Caleb, it ant they could also benefit.

Zora’s eyes turned red, choked up she asked, “Caleb, weren’t you going to announce the engagent? ”
Nidya Hughes standing nearby was displeased and scolded, “Xaviera! What are you doing standing next to Mr. Mat? Co here right now! Zora and Mr. Mat are engaged. You’re still clinging onto Mr. Mat, have you no sha?”
Xaviera did not want to pay any attention to Nidya Hughes, but Caleb’s eyes grew cold, his intense gaze seed to pierce through everyone, “I do have sothing to announce to everyone.”
Hearing this, Nidya Hughes quickly tried to step forward to get an explanation, but was stopped by Jonas Hughes. Jonas signaled for Nidya to be patient, then stepped forward, respectfully saying, “Mr. Mat, Zora has been engaged to you since she was a child. Miss Drew and my sister, Nina, arranged the engagent between you two. The Drew family has confird this, and Zora has been aware of her engagent since childhood, never dating anyone and waiting for you. If you don’t believe it, you can ask her friends and classmates.”
It was indeed true that everyone around Zora knew she had a fiancé, but they never knew who it was, only that it was soone powerful and influential.
Caleb smiled beneath his lowered eyelids, “So, the Hughes family assus that I am Miss Hughes’s fiancé? Miss Hughes, don’t you have anything else to say?”
Everyone was stunned. What did Caleb an by that? Was it possible that Zora was hiding sothing?
At that mont, Zora, who had her head down the entire ti, suddenly let out a sob, tears streaming down her face. She tried to hold back her tears with a trembling voice, “Caleb, I know that you love Xaviera deep down in your heart. I don’t want to tear you apart, I just want an explanation.”
“This engagent was originally mine, since childhood I had dreamt of marrying you, but I never thought Xaviera would secretly marry you. I have resentnt in my heart, but I’ve already forgiven Xaviera. Now, I just want an explanation, I just want an apology, why can’t I have this simple wish fulfilled?”
Xaviera raised an eyebrow, “Miss Hughes, your ability to lie with eyes wide open is getting better and better!”

Zora wiped her tears, heartbroken: “Xaviera, I admit that I love Caleb, but I never wanted to break up your marriage. You shouldn’t ignore the pain you’ve caused just because of my own kindness! For twenty years I regarded him as my fiancé, but you took my place and married him. Do you know how heartbroken I am?”
