Chapter 932: Chapter 932: You’ll Definitely Be a Great Actor

As Zora Hughes spoke, tears suddenly fell, her sorrow imasurable. On the surface, she was a gentle and kind cousin, never complaining even if her cousin made mistakes. Deep inside, however, she constantly hoped that Xaviera Evans would be humiliated and disliked by others. When that happened, everyone would say how vile Xaviera was and how unfit she was to be with Caleb Mat. Only Zora Hughes could be the perfect wife for Mr. Caleb Mat!

There were many won who liked Caleb Mat, and Xaviera had seen plenty of angelic bitches, but Zora’s act wasn’t half-bad. She managed to deceive many of the guests, but it was still a far cry from Xaviera’s own acting skills.

Xaviera suddenly looked up, her gaze sharp as she fixed it on Zora Hughes. After a few seconds of silence, she asked, “Miss Hughes, what did you major in at college?”

Confused, Zora replied, “? Finance and perfury, why do you ask?”

Xaviera sneered sarcastically, “I think you’re more suited for acting. You’d be a great actress!”

At first, Zora didn’t understand Xaviera’s aning, but after a mont of hesitation, she froze, her gentle eyes suddenly filling with anger.

Xaviera! How could she be so arrogant? Why was she openly mocking her in front of everyone?

“Xaviera, I know you hate , but I did it all for you,” Zora’s voice trembled, and she choked on her words, tears filling her eyes as she appeared wrongfully accused.

With a sardonic smile, Xaviera looked at her and scoffed, “Miss Hughes keeps saying she did it for , but I clearly didn’t bla the waiter. Nor did I say I wanted to punish him.”

Everyone thought about it, and none of them recalled hearing Xaviera say anything of the sort.

“I never blad anyone, but the waiter and Miss Hughes seed to have conspired together, accusing of being unreasonable and wildly misbehaving. Isn’t this blaming the victim?”

It was at this point that the guests realized that the waiter had almost run into Mrs. Mat, causing Mr. Caleb Mat’s clothes to get wet. The couple had made no accusations or punishnts, but the waiter suddenly started crying, looking terrified as he begged for forgiveness. The waiter’s coffee had spilled on Mr. Mat, and if anyone should be begging for forgiveness, it should be directed to him! Why did the waiter keep targeting Mrs. Mat?

Additionally, when Miss Hughes had entered the room, she hadn’t bothered to understand the situation before accusing her cousin Xaviera of harshly accosting the waiter. She claid that her actions were for Xaviera’s benefit, but were they really?

With her head bowed, Zora cried in grievance, “Xaviera, I’m sorry. When I walked in, I saw him begging for your forgiveness, so I jumped to the conclusion that you were going to punish him and spoke up on his behalf.”

Laughing, Xaviera looked up, “Sean Price.”

Sean Price imdiately understood her aning and respectfully addressed Mr. Mat and Xaviera, “Mr. Caleb Mat, Mrs. Mat, please give a mont. I’ll look into who the waiter was in contact with before and find out who instructed him to fra Mrs. Mat.”

Zora shuddered upon hearing this, “Xaviera, I was just a little worried, so I misspoke. But the waiter really didn’t an to do any harm. What are you asking Sean Price to investigate? Why make such a big deal out of it? Don’t ruin the banquet.”

“Not intentional?” Xaviera suddenly laughed, looking even more stunning.

She threw Caleb’s jacket on the floor, her voice filled with cold murderous intent, “Then open your eyes and see if it was intentional or not!”

When everyone took a closer look, they gasped and stepped back in shock. The jacket was already corroded with a few holes from the alcohol. If the coffee had splashed onto Mrs. Mat’s face earlier, the consequences would have been unthinkable!

Eric Salt soon arrived with a dical kit, first checking Mr. Caleb Mat’s condition before examining the alcohol-soaked jacket. “The coffee was poisoned. This poison has a strong corrosive effect. If it’s inhaled through the nose or taken into the mouth, it would imdiately corrode the mucous mbranes, eventually leading to suffocation and death.”

Fearful, everyone covered their mouths and noses. They never expected that soone would poison the coffee at a banquet. Was the target really Mrs. Mat? If Mr. Caleb Mat hadn’t protected her, wouldn’t she have either died or been gravely injured?

At this thought, everyone’s eyes turned to Zora Hughes, who had accused Mrs. Mat of making things difficult for the waiter as soon as she walked in. Now that Mrs. Mat wanted to thoroughly investigate the matter, Zora thought she was overreacting and would ruin the banquet. What position was she in to say such things?
