Ruby Sullivan sought out the ga company for a detailed introduction about "Cupid’s Arrow" and watched a video of its effects, ntally reviewing the scents of the previous five perfus, trying hard to conjure up a new inspiration from her mind, but it wasn’t easy.
A perfu from concept to formulation, to finalization, even with the aid of sophisticated instrunts, requires at least a year. The reason Ruby Sullivan could launch so many new products in less than two years is that these scents have always lingered in her mind. They are works she wished to challenge at The Lawson Group but couldn’t due to various restrictions. Yet now her mind was a blank.
For this, she researched many legends about Cupid but still had no ideas.
The more she couldn’t think of anything, the more irritable she beca, and the more irritable she was, the less she could co up with. After a stalemate in the lab, she took off her lab coat, intending to check out the progress on Howard’s side.
Regarding the insider, she had shifted from fearing to know to desperately wanting to know. Only by solving this hidden enemy could she continue her work with peace of mind.
Ruby Sullivan walked into Howard’s office, where he was watching surveillance footage on his computer screen, his expression extrely serious.
"How’s it going?"
"I think we can almost confirm it," Howard said, finding a few clips he’d saved earlier. "It matches what I thought. Besides , only she and you have keys to the lab."
Ruby Sullivan looked at the girl who entered the lab early in the morning, her face growing increasingly grim.
"Could it be... a misunderstanding?" Since only the three of them had keys, she should know that if things ca to light, she’d be the first to be suspected. Wouldn’t that be too foolish?
Howard saw Ruby Sullivan’s incredulous expression, understanding her reluctance to believe.
To be stabbed in the back by soone you carefully nurtured would be hard for anyone to face.
"I think we can directly call her in for a confrontation."
"I’ll go find her now," Ruby Sullivan said as she walked out of the office, her steps more hurried than she had imagined.
Two minutes later, Zoe followed Ruby Sullivan back to Howard’s office. She seed quite baffled about being summoned here, glancing between Ruby Sullivan and Howard and testingly asked, "Boss, are you giving a raise?" In her mind, this seed to be the only connection she could have with the financial director.
"You really don’t know why I called you here?" Perhaps having seen too many guilty insiders at the end of their ropes, Howard saw through her feigned humor almost instantly. She was asking such a nonsensical question precisely because she knew everything.
He turned the computer screen towards her. "Can you explain what you were doing in the lab?"
For a mont, Zoe’s expression stiffened, then a layer of unfamiliar derision and sarcasm surfaced in her eyes, surprising the other two present. Her face, usually adorned with a slight smile, turned sullen. "Since Director Hollis knows everything, why ask ?"
She was wary of recording devices and refused to disclose any important information.
Ruby Sullivan seed to see her heart hanging mid-air suddenly plumting, crashing to the ground, and shattering.
She coldly stared at the girl she once greatly admired, asking tensely, "Is it for money?"
"No comnt," Zoe sneered at her. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving. If needed, I can resend my resignation letter."
She spoke and attempted to leave, but Ruby Sullivan slightly moved to block her way. Zoe sneered a bit, "I won’t say anything. You can sue if you have the ability."
The footage captured can’t serve as evidence, and she wasn’t afraid of Ruby Sullivan suing her.
"Tell Rhonda Sullivan, there will be no good end for her if she provokes ," Ruby Sullivan said, stepping aside.
Howard frowned, "Just let her go like this?"
"Contact the lawyer imdiately. I’m going to find evidence of her leaking trade secrets," Ruby Sullivan said, quickly leaving the office. As she descended the stairs, she called Rhonda Sullivan, "I’ll be waiting for you at the Starbucks on XX Road. Co out imdiately."
Rhonda Sullivan was contemplating where to have a candlelit dinner with Jack that night, in a very good mood. Hearing Ruby Sullivan’s imperious tone, her expression imdiately soured, "Who do you think you’re talking to?"
"If you don’t want the entire nation to see a video of you and Azure Hollis pulling each other’s hair in a fight, then don’t co," Ruby Sullivan said and hung up.
"Hey? Hey!" Rhonda Sullivan, having been hung up on, was instantly furious, nearly throwing her phone. Frowning for a mont, she had no choice but to get off the sofa, go to the second-floor studio to explain to Jack, change her clothes, and head out.
Thirty minutes later, Rhonda Sullivan t Ruby Sullivan at a window seat in the café. She had no intention of wasting ti here, so she didn’t order coffee and directly walked over, standing before her. Looking down, she asked, "How did you get the video of fighting with Azure Hollis?"
Ruby Sullivan didn’t want to answer her foolish question, directly taking out her phone for her to see. When she reached out to grab the phone, Ruby quickly retracted it, "Give the evidence of your transaction with Phoebe Lawson."
Rhonda Sullivan had to sit down opposite her, her eyebrow twitching as she lazily asked, "What are you talking about? I don’t understand."
"If you think the video isn’t significant enough, I can use even more explosive conditions to threaten you. Do you want to ask Ethan Sterling for help or L?"
Rhonda Sullivan changed her expression, gritting her teeth sarcastically, "L? Hah, will you sneak behind Ethan Sterling’s back again to sleep with him and ask for his help? Tsk-tsk, I really feel sorry for Ethan Sterling."
Ruby Sullivan smirked, not getting angry at her insult, intentionally continuing, "How I accomplish it is none of your concern. If you think your life has been too smooth lately, you can definitely give it a try." She finished with a deliberately mischievous wink, "I rember Jack seems to be a fan of mine, I wonder if he has ti to join for a al soon?"
"You!" Rhonda Sullivan was instantly flushed with anger, "Do you think every man in the world will be seduced by you? A bit too narcissistic, aren’t you?"
Ruby Sullivan covered her mouth with a light laugh, "You can wait and see." She reminded again, "My patience is limited. Are you giving it or not?" She ended with a question, but there was no hint of inquiry, it was purely a demand.
Rhonda Sullivan frowned, looking at her, weighing the pros and cons, staying silent for quite a while.
When she was considering this matter, she hadn’t t Jack yet. She only wanted to cause so trouble for Nirvana according to plan, having no desire to fight anymore. Ruby Sullivan was quite right; her life was very smooth now, and she just wanted it to continue that way, wanting to live well with Jack.
"I have no transaction with her," Rhonda Sullivan said quietly.
