Arthur arrived in another area.

’If I’m correct, this is the class I have first.’

The Magic Departnt class.

He could hear their voices from outside.

It was the place he had mapped when Rex had showed him around.

His hand rested on the doorknob for a mont before he finally turned it.

The door opened. He stepped inside.

"..."

Silence.

As soon as he walked in every pair of eyes turned in his direction, stopping their small talk to just stare at him.

The air grew tense.

"Good morning, and welco as first years of Lavender Academy."

Arthur began.

He felt all the eyes on him, almost as if they were begging him to continue.

"I’m Arthur Vaelthorne, I’ll be the one taking you all in Magiology and Magic Engineering."

He offered the students a warm smile.

"So, let’s get along."

On the contrary, most of them shuddered involuntarily at his gaze, almost as if they were scared of him.

’As I expected.’

"Alright."

Saying that, he dropped the papers he was carrying on his desk.

"Everyone, open your textbooks to page 5."

Most of them quickly brought out their bags to bring out the book, others were flipping through their pages.

Then, there was a few of them that were already on said page, it was directly after the table of content after all.

"Now," Arthur went over to the chalkboard, grabbing a piece of chalk from the table.

The chalk scratched against the board as he drew a spell node.

"Who can tell the na of the spell that requires the node?"

"...."

Silence.

Nobody spoke.

At his words so looked away, assuming that he would ignore them.

Suddenly, soone raised their hand.

"Yes?"

"It’s the spell node for the basic-ranked Fla spell."

"You’re correct."

He admitted before continuing, addressing them all.

"The topic for today is Magic Fundantals. Everything that falls under the use of magic requires the use of formulas to implent.

This spell, Fla, is the most common spell for mages. It is a spell that is taught and used very early in schools, aning that it is among the basics of magic."

He took a deep breath.

From what he could see he had gotten most of the students attention, considering that he had just asked them about a beginner-ranked spell.

"The basics are fundantal. That is because without the basics, there would never be any sort of thing like advanced or master.

That being said, this topic is typically just a recap of everything you have done throughout your high school years, yet you can’t even rember it."

Arthur stopped speaking, instead he dropped the chalk back on his desk and carried a stack of papers he had brought in.

Then, he went around, distributing the papers for everyone.

"Open your papers, and make sure to answer the questions."

"Hopefully, you all rember the basics."

....

"What the hell?!"

Ezra sat in his seat.

A hand over his hair.

This ti, there was no blood on him though.

He stared at the last question, like the answer would reveal itself if he just stared hard enough.

"Fucking easy my ass!"

He cursed in a low voice.

His seatmate, a boy, turned his head to look at Ezra’s sheet.

Nothing.

The boy turned his head back, noticing the professor’s piercing gaze on him.

His paper was filled to the brim with diagrams, but that wasn’t the cause.

There were ten questions, question one to question six was relatively easy. The questions were mostly set on the basics, that was to intricately draw a diagram picturing the nodes for said spell.

Thankfully most of the spells were commonly known beginner-ranked or even basic-ranked spells.

But then, question seven took an unexpected turn.

"How the fuck are we supposed to explain the relationship between a veteran-ranked spell and an advanced-ranked spell?"

Ezra hadn’t even used an advanced-rank spell, now he was being asked to give the relationship between a veteran-ranked one and advanced-rank spell.

"Ah, fuck it."

He murmured.

And began writing anyti that ca to his mind as long as it remotely made sense and seed to align with the question.

"Done."

He had written a long eight paragraph explanation.

"Mana flow equation?"

He asked aloud.

’How the hell am I supposed to know the formula?’

As a sorcerer he had been trying to balance his physical training, weapon training, and magic training all at the sa ti. It wasn’t easy.

He had barely studied, he only worked on his spells.

"I know."

The guy he sat next to said before letting out a low sorrowful chuckle.

"If I had known all this I would have been studying yesterday."

"What were you doing yesterday then?"

"Don’t ask."

The boy replied.

"Which number are you on?"

"Nine, racking my head for it before I’ll do ten."

"Can I see your script?"

"No, if you do that bastard might not even give us marks for the test."

He was rejected outright.

"But, I can tell you the formula for it."

"....Okay, appreciate it."

Ezra turned away.

"Ashborn and Wycliffe, care to tell the class what you two are discussing about?"

That was when the boy realized that the man had been watching them.

"Nothing, it’s nothing sir."

His seatmate quickly answered, though he was a little shaken by the sudden call.

Arthur didn’t bother speaking anymore.

Instead, he continued observing the rest of the class.

"Ten minutes remaining."

The professor announced.

’Fuck’

He didn’t dare say it aloud.

He quickly picked up his pen, furiously scribbling onto his paper.

"Drop your pens, bring your papers to the front and leave the room."

As he said those words, Lucas stood up from his seat, hurriedly going over to the desk to drop his paper before leaving the class.

Soone else followed behind him.

Then, the students began rushing forward to submit.

He could have sworn that most of them didn’t even bother to finish.

"Hand it over."

Ezra dropped his test sheet in the man’s hand.

"You’re free to leave."

He nodded, mostly to himself rather than the professor.

With his bag slung over his shoulder, he left the classroom.

"Is that it?"

"No, I do have sothing to say to you."

"Sir?"

"You should prepare for your class in the assassin departnt."

He advised.

"Sir?"

"Dismissed."

He walked out of the classroom in a daze.

"I forgot he was the sa professor for the assassin departnt.... Damn it."

He mumbled.

Ezra could only imagine what other "easy" tests the man had prepared for him.
