Mr. Qin didn’t witness the entire incident, but listening to his grandsons, he could guess his granddaughter must have said sothing unpleasant that upset the younger grandson. He coldly said, "Alright, since an apology has been made, let’s leave it at that. Qin Miao, you should also be careful, don’t always speak harshly!"

Qin Miao was surprised that the matter was dismissed so lightly. Dissatisfied, she exclaid, "Grandpa, are you just going to let Big Cousin off just like that? You don’t know he’s going to marry that country girl!"

Everyone was shocked by this statent. Mr. Qin’s voice ca first: "Qin Xi, is this true?"

Qin Xi replied in a clear and cold voice, now with a hint of a smile, "Yes, I was just about to discuss this matter with Grandpa. I didn’t expect Cousin to be so keen on eavesdropping on other people’s conversations. It seems like Uncle often teaches you this!"

On the first day back, he and his father talked about this in the kitchen and didn’t expect soone to eavesdrop. But perhaps it was better to clear the air, even if the approach wasn’t ideal.

Mr. Qin’s eyes widened in disbelief, "What did you say? You’re discussing with about marrying a country girl?"

Qin Xi lazily said, "What country girl, Grandpa? How could you just believe whatever Cousin says? Xiangxiang’s grandfather is Li Huai Ren; I believe you should know him."

Li Huai Ren! The newspaper in Mr. Qin’s hands uncontrollably fell to the floor, and he muttered, "How could it be him? Ever since then, just thinking about that man makes him shudder with fear, his hands trembling involuntarily."

Qin Miao didn’t understand why her grandfather would react like this. She feared the worst and scread, "What granddaughter? She’s a country girl adopted by Li Huai Ren’s family, a born-and-bred country person, even if her household registration is in the city!"

Qin Xi, looking at his stunned grandfather, felt no sympathy and smiled, "Grandpa, Grandpa Li also said he’d like to et and chat when you’re free, as he said you’ve been old acquaintances."

Mr. Qin stared at Qin Xi, scrutinizing his facial expression closely and realizing his grandson was indeed talking about this matter with no other implications. But why did he feel there was more to the words, as if his grandson knew sothing?

Qin Xi then turned to Qin Shouren, "Dad, you see, we don’t even have a place to stay here at Grandpa’s. Uncle and his whole family moved here even after the divorce. If Uncle cos back, are we supposed to live in the hallway?"

Mr. Qin picked up the newspaper from the floor and frowned, "Qin Xin, your family of three is living together, where are your cousins supposed to sleep?"

Qin Xin frowned and replied, "Grandpa, the bed is too small, can’t fit!"

Mr. Qin frowned and said, "Then go back to your own house to sleep. You’re married and still living here, don’t you have your own ho?" Saying this, he turned and walked back toward the door, pausing to address Qin Shouren, "The second son and Qin Xi, co inside."

With that, he walked back without turning his head.

Qin Xi patted his younger brother’s shoulder and gave him a look, and Qin Zhen quickly ran off to the room with the big bed, ignoring the calls of Qin Xin and his spouse behind him. What took him so long!

Mr. Qin’s room had a wooden bed of 1.2 ters; the room was quite spacious, 15 square ters, with a black and white photo of Qin Xi’s grandmother hanging in front of the closet.

Qin Shen invited father and son to sit down, took a seat by the bed himself, set aside the newspaper, and then thoughtfully said, "Qin Xi, getting married is a lifelong matter for a man. As the saying goes, ’A lifeti without a good wife leads to three generations without good offspring.’ These words are not false. Don’t act impulsively; you are still young. Why rush? Even if you are in love, you can wait until after you graduate from university."

The words spoken were extrely sensible; on the surface, it was all for his benefit—to find a well-established girl who could help him. Ultimately, it was for his own benefit, enabling him to control everyone just right.

Qin Xi smiled and said, "I’m afraid that’s not possible. I have already discussed with Grandpa Li and my father our decision to get the marriage certificate soon and then hold the wedding during my junior year."

Qin Shen frowned, irritated by his grandson’s disobedience, and his tone beca heavier: "What kind of girl makes you disregard your future like this? You’ve just entered university, and instead of seizing the ti to accomplish sothing, you’re caught up in a romantic relationship!"

Qin Xi’s expression cooled slightly, but his voice remained gentle and polite: "Xiangxiang scored 3810 points on the college entrance examination, and she will be attending the finance departnt at Capital University. I don’t think marrying her will impact negatively; on the contrary, I believe there’s nothing wrong with a man settling his household before starting his career."

Qin Shen was montarily stunned; wasn’t she just an adopted girl from the countryside? How did she score so high? Finance departnt, not bad. With soone like Li Huai Ren backing her, securing a position in a financial institution after graduation would be a breeze. Thinking this, Qin Shen beca less opposed to the idea, though he still had reservations about Li Huai Ren.

Seeing his grandfather silent, Qin Xi’s expression relaxed, possibly considering sothing beneficial for the so-called family; he smirked disdainfully. His grandfather was always like this, treating everyone as pawns in his hand, freely arranging them to advantageous positions, and not hesitating to abandon them once they were useless.

Beside him, Qin Shouren did not expect things to go so smoothly and rubbed his hands together: "Tomorrow is the weekend. I will discuss with Mr. Li about the procedures. After all, if his granddaughter is marrying you, we must inquire about their wishes regarding the dowry."

Qin Xi smiled faintly at his father’s excitent and nodded, "That’s good, both families should indeed et."

With that, the matter was settled. Although Mr. Qin was not particularly fond of this sudden granddaughter-in-law, thinking about the girl’s background, he did not obstruct it. Instead, he pulled out a stack of money from a drawer, counted so out, and grabbed so Foreign Exchange Vouchers to hand to Qin Shouren, saying, "Since we are visiting, take so money with you. Buy whatever is needed; don’t be too stingy."

Qin Shouren saw his father offering money and thought about refusing, but Qin Xi accepted it with a smile, saying, "Thank you, Grandpa. I think Grandpa Li will be pleased that you support our marriage like this."

Upon hearing the na Li Huai Ren, Qin Shen felt as if a thorn was stuck in his heart. He always felt his grandson kept bringing up this man because he knew sothing, yet it seed impossible. With Li Huai Ren’s job, confidentiality was the top priority. How could it be leaked, even if their relationship was getting closer to becoming one family?
