A week later, everything in the courtyard house was tidily sorted out, even the peeling door outside had been ticulously oiled by Qin Xi.

Qin Xi and Qin Zhen lived in the east and west side rooms at the back, and Qin Zhen was thrilled to have his own room for the first ti, although it was still at Grandpa Li’s, it was still his very first own house.

The house was all set, and the first delivery of grain, steel, carbon, and vegetables in the capital was received. Li Xianglu cooked everyone a lavish dinner using the copper pot.

On the bottom layer were cabbage, vermicelli, tofu, dried bean curd, and wood ear mushrooms; on top were fried atballs, processed semi-cooked spare ribs and chicken pieces. A large pot of bone broth was poured in, and with the heat turned high, it wasn’t long before it started bubbling and the aroma of at filled the air.

Qin Zhen imdiately felt that Li Xianglu hadn’t lied to him, he was truly satisfied with this al, all the grievances from the past days of hard work were replenished. At this mont, he hesitated whether going to Shanghai for studies was the right decision, were the delicacies there really as plentiful as in the capital?

With school about to start, Qin Xi and Qin Zhen had been staying outside for five or six days. That day after dinner, the two brothers rode their bicycles back.

Sitting behind on the bicycle seat, Qin Zhen, with a belly full of food, uncomfortably said, "Brother, my stomach feels like it’s going to explode!"

Qin Xi had no solution for his brother’s perennially childish deanor; he rembered that in his past life, this guy remained the sa even in his twenties. Although he had changed a lot in this life, his personality seed immutable. But speaking of which, that girl’s cooking skills were unquestionably top-notch, even a restrained person like himself overate.

Thinking of the girl’s face flushed from the heat of the cooking pot, he felt a fiery impatience surge through him.

Originally lounging lazily on the back seat, Qin Zhen jolted as the bicycle suddenly sped up, bouncing along and almost throwing him off. He quickly grabbed onto his brother’s coat, annoyed, "Hey, hey, slow down! Why are you cycling so fast!?"

The house that Mr. Qin allotted was also in a recreation center compound, not far from Mr. Pang’s house, but it wasn’t a detached building, it was a 200 square ter apartnt.

square ters, with four rooms, two halls, one kitchen, and one bathroom, the second-floor apartnt had good light and was at a comfortable floor level, but there were simply too many people.

Mr. Qin alone occupied a master bedroom, Qin Miao and her mother took one room, Qin Miao’s elder brother, Qin Xin, with his family of three, also returned and took two rooms. Qin Shouren had a dormitory in the hospital and seldom returned, which was just as well. But now with Qin Xi and Qin Zhen back, there was a severe lack of rooms, they even ran out of quilts.

The brothers had no keys, so they knocked on the door, and after quite a while soone ca to open it; it was Qin Shouren, who was surprised to see his two sons. Qin Zhen, impatient from waiting outside, and Qin Xi, who was tying up the bicycles in the hallway, heard the younger brother starting to quarrel with soone.

Qin Shouren coldly watched his niece sitting on the sofa holding a book, while Qin Zhen, jumping with anger, shouted, "Are you deaf? Didn’t you hear us knocking?!"

Qin Xi entered, glanced at the scene, shook his head at his brother, indicating that so people are simply not worth bothering with.

Qin Miao looked up at Qin Shouren and his sons, lazily put down her book and said, "Uncle, you should discipline your cousin too. With that temper, he’s going abroad for university; I bet he’d get expelled within days!"

These words were like a firecracker thrown into oil, and Qin Zhen imdiately sprung up, rushing forward as if to start a fight. He was always a domineering character who didn’t take any challenge lying down, and he certainly didn’t have a rule against not hitting won.

Qin Xi didn’t stop him but instead moved aside to block their father who was trying to intervene.

With Qin Zhen’s stature, it was already too late for Qin Miao to evade when she realized sothing was wrong. With a ’slap’, her face was struck by a slap, and her stomach was harshly kicked and she fell onto the sofa.

Only then did Qin Xi step aside to let their father pull his brother away. Qin Xi then stepped up, pulling his younger brother behind him. Qin Shouren hadn’t expected his son to actually start hitting, and though he looked down upon his niece significantly, resorting to physical violence was a bit too much.

Qin Xi coldly looked over and saw deep hatred in Qin Miao’s tearful eyes as she began to shriek and cry.

This commotion was so loud that the couple who had been watching the drama unfold in the room and Mr. Qin, who had been reading the newspaper, all ca out.

The living room fell silent for a mont, and even the mischievous child didn’t dare to speak, covering their mouth and watching their aunt who had been hit.

Mr. Qin, seeing that it was his grandsons who had returned, and everyone gathered around, sternly demanded, "What’s going on here? Why did you start fighting as soon as you returned?"

Qin Zhen held his chin up high, glancing at Qin Miao with his eyes, thinking, ’Hitting you was just casual, hasn’t anyone taught you that if you flap your lips carelessly, your flesh has to suffer?’

Obviously, no one had taught Qin Miao that. Seeing her grandfather, she imdiately started wailing, "Grandpa, you have to stand up for ! Qin Zhen slapped and kicked without saying anything!"

Upon hearing that his granddaughter was hit by his grandson, Mr. Qin scolded angrily, "Qin Zhen, what are you doing? Are you a bandit? How have you beco so wild after living in the countryside for a few years! I don’t know how your father has been teaching you!"

Hearing his father being ntioned, Qin Zhen instantly flew into a rage, wanting to argue no matter who it was, but Qin Xi’s slightly chilly hand grabbed his brother, shaking his head. In a calm voice, he said, "Grandpa, you should know that ’seeing is believing,’ since you work in research. Even involving my dad in the scolding is harsh. Even if he’s not great, he’s still your son, isn’t he? Furthermore, the truth of this matter isn’t clear yet, how can you make such a judgent?"

Qin Shen didn’t have much of an impression of the eldest son of the second family, only rembering him as very intelligent when he left ho, with excellent academic achievents. But this ti, his return really made Qin Shen feel that this kid was inscrutable, especially with the high school exam score of 390 he obtained to enter Capital University, ranking among the top nationwide.

Despite his grandson’s impressive achievents, Mr. Qin believed that it didn’t justify causing trouble under his watch. As the head of the Qin family, he would not allow anyone to overstep his authority. He coldly stated, "Qin Xi, no matter what happened, it still does not justify your brother hitting soone."

Qin Xi faintly smiled: "Yes, Grandpa is right." He then turned to his brother and said, "Apologize quickly."

Qin Zhen, stubborn as a bull, really didn’t want to apologize, but now that he felt he had the upper hand, saying sorry after slapping soone felt like getting away with a lot. "Cousin Qin Miao, sorry, I am rough and have a short temper, if you don’t speak hurtfully next ti, I won’t strike out rashly!" Was that an apology? It sounded more like a threat!

ps: This was actually supposed to be tomorrow’s update, but as I typed, I saw that the monthly tickets were enough, so I went ahead and posted it.

So readers in the book review section said that the plot resembles a certain ancient romance tale, and I would like to clarify.

The characters in the manuscript are all set by , so of whom may resemble characters from a book I read which left feeling regretful. In their re-creation, I hope they have a good outco.

The outline was discussed and developed in bits and pieces by three people, so there shouldn’t be too much overlap. I hope everyone can read with a normal mindset, as undue criticism can hurt people.

Regarding the plot about currency exchange, thanks to a reader, I’ve corrected it. Recently, I’ve been posting extra frequently, and my brain got overheated, even though I had already checked the exchange rate a while ago.
