Adrian tightened his grip on the daggers he had found earlier. Since his optical skills were blocked, Adrian did not know how strong the Minotaur was, but that made it the perfect opponent for him. The egg in his inventory pulsed, almost as if it was cheering him on.
The Minotaur let out a deafening roar and charged at Adrian, its massive hooves pounding the ground. Adrian sidestepped quickly, narrowly avoiding the beast’s initial swing. The Minotaur’s axe smashed into the ground, sending a barrage of stone fragnts into the air.
Adrian took advantage of the opening, darting in and slashing at the Minotaur’s side. His daggers left shallow cuts on the creature’s tough hide, but it was enough to make the beast roar in pain and anger.
The Minotaur swung its axe again, but Adrian was already moving, using his agility to stay one step ahead of the powerful swings.
"This guy is stronger than the ones I’ve fought so far," Adrian muttered, dodging another swing. "Is it because of the maze?"
In so stories or ancient journals, minotaurs were often depicted as guardians of a maze. Adrian wasn’t certain, but he thought those tales might refer to the very labyrinth they were in right now. So many, the maze itself was powering the Minotaur.
"That would explain the fucker’s explosive strength."
The Minotaur’s attacks were relentless, each swing of its axe powerful enough to crush entire mountains. Adrian knew he couldn’t afford to get hit even once, not without facing severe repercussions.
He focused on his footwork, staying light and quick, striking at the Minotaur whenever he saw an opening. Once again, Adrian took the form of a nimble monkey, hitting and running before the enemy could retaliate.
The beast was becoming more enraged with each passing mont, its roars echoing through the chamber. It tried to catch Adrian off guard by suddenly changing the direction of its swings, but Adrian was too quick for it.
In ti, Adrian began noticing the Minotaur’s attack pattern. It would swing its axe in wide arcs, leaving its sides montarily exposed.
The minotaurs from dungeons didn’t make such unnecessary moves. Probably because they had learned a lot after facing the hunters and divers.
"Unlike other minotaurs, this one probably has fought no one in a long ti. That’s why it blindly trusts its strength and keeps attacking without thinking."
Adrian decided to use the discovery to his advantage. Timing his movents carefully, Adrian waited for the next wide swing. As the axe ca down, he rolled to the side and slashed at the Minotaur’s flank, leaving a deeper cut this ti.
The Minotaur bellowed in pain, swinging its axe wildly to hit Adrian. But Adrian was already out of reach, circling the beast and looking for another opening. The Minotaur’s rage was making it sloppy, its attacks beca less precise and more desperate.
"This will work."
The Minotaur charged again, but this ti Adrian was ready. He ducked under the beast’s swing and slashed at its legs, aiming for the tendons. The Minotaur stumbled, its balance montarily thrown off. Adrian saw his chance and went for a more direct attack, aiming for the creature’s chest.
Since he already had the Minotaur’s heart, he wasn’t interested in taking it. This made it easier for him to get an organ from the corpse later. Unfortunately, Adrian was too hasty.
As he leapt forward, both daggers aid at the Minotaur’s heart. But the beast was not as off balance as Adrian had thought. With a sudden, powerful backhand, the Minotaur swatted Adrian away, sending him crashing into the chamber wall.
Adrian grunted in pain, but quickly got back on his feet. The Minotaur was already coming at him again, its eyes filled with murderous intent. Adrian could feel his strength waning, but he couldn’t afford to give up. He had to bring the beast down.
"You’re tough, I’ll give you that," Adrian said, wiping blood from his mouth.
The tougher hide and damn near infinite stamina. Defeating a Minotaur like that would not be easy. But regardless, Adrian needed to end the fight quickly as there were more relics and treasures to collect.
It was then Adrian noticed the surrounding walls. Even though the Minotaur had the strength to destroy mountains, his attacks barely scratched the walls.
’That’s it!’
The Minotaur was strong, but its rage was making it predictable. He waited for the next charge, positioning himself near one of the chamber’s walls.
As the Minotaur charged, Adrian held his ground until the last possible mont. When the beast swung its axe, Adrian ducked and rolled to the side, causing the Minotaur to smash its axe into the wall.
The impact caused the axe to get embedded into the wall following a shower of rubble, montarily dazing the creature.
Adrian didn’t waste any ti. He sprang up and drove his daggers into the Minotaur’s exposed back, aiming for the spine. No matter how powerful soone was. Injuring their spine would render them as motionless as potatoes.
The beast roared in agony, dropping its axe and thrashing wildly to dislodge Adrian. But Adrian held on, twisting the daggers deeper into the Minotaur’s flesh.
The Minotaur’s thrashing beca more frantic, and Adrian knew he had to finish it off quickly. He pulled out one dagger and climbed higher onto the Minotaur’s back, using the other dagger to maintain his grip. He aid for the base of the skull, where the spine t the head.
With a powerful thrust, Adrian drove the dagger into the Minotaur’s neck. The beast let out a final, pained roar before collapsing to the ground, its massive body shuddering as the last of its life left it.
Breathing heavily, Adrian pulled his daggers out of the Minotaur’s body and stepped back. He had won, but the fight had taken a lot out of him. He wiped the sweat from his brow and took a mont to catch his breath.
"That was close," he muttered to himself, staring at the fallen beast. "Now then, let’s see what I can find this ti."
